ty for the rec, ended up trying it out and it really is an amazing vpn
the only downsides seem to be small server selection and latency inconsistency

I'm glad you like it. It's a good starter VPN that does what it needs to, datacap free, and is well, free.

Just to save anyone else the trouble, don't bother w/ this one. The free tier doesn't allow you to select servers and, for me atleast, the autoconnect dumped me on a US server, which obviously solves nothing. So much for their claims to be fighting censorship...

What are you talking about, most people outside the US would agree that using a US server DOES help fight censorship...

And those people wouldn't be allowed to connect to a US server, because they would be autoconnected to a server closer to them. The point is, ProtonVPN no longer allows free users to choose where they connect to, so it cannot be used to bypass dlsite's geofencing. Please actually read what people write next time.

In my experience it depends on what site I'm viewing when I connect. My home page grants a server in Ohio, being on Youtube connects me to the Netherlands despite being nowhere near them while Ci-En or Pixiv gives me a Japanese server.
