You're shit out of luck lol, JSK is the peak of H-content if you're into fighting-sims. I remember some game with orcs and elves that kind of had the same combat system but it sucked.

Most other text-choice games will have you read an entire novel of text for a few scenes w/no animation.

I agree with others that JSK is more or less 'it' when it comes to this genre... but you could try KoooonSoft. It's not exactly the same format as JSK but it is a fighting side-scroller and I enjoy their animations just about as much as JSK.

If you're into more sandbox & open-world type stuff there's Mad Island and Wild Life which I am also quite fond of; Wild Life more than Mad Island as the sandbox and customization Wild Life offers is just amazing, but still!

I recommend those if you are bored by JSK (though I'm not quite sure how that's possible...!)

As for a little neat surprise for you all that look to get a little "extra" out of JSK games, get the "Lossless Scaling" from steam and use it to scale the JSK games while you enjoy the... "Stimulation", the results are... Impressive, I can attest to that. :sneaky:

Dexie pointed that out for me, and I wasn't left disappointed how smoother the visual animations became.

where can i find the repo now? a bit lost since none of the front page link is not updated.

"Unity Edits 2024" link on front page. And you'll have to click around the posts a little bit but you'll find everything

Now, just to be clear, you can obtain Lossless Scaling from Steam itself, and apply the effects from using this tool, on non Steam games? If so, might be worth a try. I looked at the Lossless Scaling page on Steam itself, and it looks good, but wanted to know if it can be used on Unity games acquired from F95 and elsewhere.

Yes, I'm using it to enhance JSK games, and yes, both flash and unity ones.
So, I imagine it can handle more than just steam games as you've described.

Just pick the desired settings, hit the scale from top right, select the game window you're currently playing, wait a few seconds, and then the magic starts to happen.
And you can always turn off the scaling to change settings to check other options for it.
