Yeah, I can understand it being inconvenient and confusing, just hope it was at least a bit enjoyable. And I'm currently working on a guide that explains the mechanics a bit more and a walkthrough incase people get stuck, because I can definitely tell that a significant amount of people want me to be a bit more clear how it works.

Also, let me know if there were any inputs you tried that didn't work or have any other feedback. I'm always looking to improve where I can.
Honestly, I don't know where the right line is between tailoring the game to the players and encouraging the players to find the right solutions themselves. If you overdo the first, the game will quickly become boring. If you overdo the second, the game will seem too difficult, and will become unpopular because of it. It seems to me (I'm not a developer) that the game should be made in such a way that it would be interesting to play it yourself, and so among all the possible players, those who are most like you will stay with you. And the rest, in my opinion, are not worth wasting time on.

I absolutely agree. Of course, as the developer myself, some solutions seem very obvious to me and I might overlook stuff, since it's hard to look at things as an average player, but I still don't want to make the game too easy. Hence why I will never add a "+1 affection" notification, because I think you should be somewhat able to tell what response a character might like or not like.

Personally - I'd suggest trying to make the clickable interactions / items more obvious somehow. Not sure how, but I'll be honest.. I didn't realize there was a clickable interaction at the cafe / English tutoring session till someone in this thread mentioned it. I wasn't looking for any clickables or such - the only one I was aware of was Kumi's phone in the hospital (and only that due to the dev mentioning to keep an eye out for an extra scene in the hospital in a post / update notes).

I'm also left wondering if there are more than these 2? I dunno, might be... but apart from playing again and trying to click absolutely everything... I can't think of anything off the top of my head.

You could put different color highlights or a distinct border around these objects (along with a note at the start that these exist). Or could do as some others do with these things (ie Crimson High and it's 'hamsters') and have a "help system" that will pop up a msg/alert whenever an intractable is on the screen.

For instance - in Crimson High I have it set to the "poor vision person" option (I do have poor vision) which pops up for like 30-60 seconds big text on the screen "A Hamster is on the screen" which lets me know it's time to hunt the hamster down. The game does have a less intrusive mode, which just pops up a smaller alert to let ppl who have turned "hints" on to let them know a hamster is on the screen.

Not saying you should do the exact same thing... lol but just an illustration of how other games do it.

Another thing, there's a scene right near the start I just can't seem to figure out how to activate. Going through the game images... I see there are 2 versions of hugging Kumi when she visit's you. One where you hug her, and another one where she apparently hugs you back.

The first one is easy to achieve... but I've tried multiple things for the 2nd one, and can't seem to work it out. I might be overthinking things, or it might be a multistep thing to get it... or one of those clickables I miss. lol

Another thing from the images I've never seen - the tombstone images and videos. How are you supposed to get these? Or is this a bad end I've never gotten? And if so, how? or maybe I need to actually ask about her dad at some point to get it? I dunno.

I can agree with some of that about the clickables. They are so few and far between that you need to click on like every object in every scene to find them. I have noticed most of them are on solo MC "inner monologues" or exposition, but still.

As for Kumi, I don't think she hugs you back really, you either ask to hug her and she does it first or just say hug her without asking. I could be missing a step though.

Very good points. I can tell they might be way too hidden for most people to find them easily enough. Perhaps I will try out some things and see what you guys prefer.

Ah, those are leftover images/videos from my earlier versions that I totally forgot to take out. It was more of a bad ending thing. Perhaps I'll use them later at some point for the lols.

Yeah, you're also right that they do pop up during monologues mostly, I believe there's one that doesn't, but that is at the start of the game.

In a way you can. With the listed synonyms you can say "Can we hug?" and it will get there but there aren't enough to ask her "Do you need a hug?", what I would have done myself. That's one of the reasons I said before that it really struggles with questions unless it's mostly just a simple why or what response. Kind of frustrating for curious types like myself.

You can't ask a LI about themselves or anything like that unless it's age or height etcetera. I wonder how it will be handled going forward because right now you are just spoon fed tiny bits of information with no real way to dig for any more if you are interested in someone. There are a few times you can but they are very rare. To me it's a pretty clear issue with the response system. No list of something like "Tell me about yourself." or "What do you do for fun?". I'm also not sure how that will effect player agency when they start to choose who to spend time with.

Yeah, the system might struggle a bit more with answering a question with a question. I'll see what type of other words I'll add to the more universal things people might try.

It's partly intentional. I feel like if I give the player the ability to ask everything about a character like, "Have you kissed before?", "How are things at home?", "What do you want to do after you graduate?" would sort of ruin the natural exploration part of a VN.

No list of something like "Tell me about yourself." or "What do you do for fun?". I'm also not sure how that will effect player agency when they start to choose who to spend time with.
Questions like that should work in the introductions, but once you are actually playing the game, those choices go away. I can see it being a big frustrating to not be able to fill in the character sheets by asking random questions when you meet them, but it's also because giving that ability would require a lot of extra work that I frankly can't put in.

Oh man, this response system is exactly what I've craved for the longest while, something we don't see enough of. Having a shit ton of fun with it so far.

I'm glad to hear you like it. :) Let your imagination run wild and if you can, let me know which inputs didn't work, so I can add them in.

Is there any h content or not yet? Btw Android version planned soon?
There's no real h content yet, besides a little bit of groping. I probably won't make an Android version, because the input system would most likely be extremely tedious to use on your phone, so sorry to say it'll be on pcs only.

Yeah, it's a slow burn, it'll take a bit of time before I add real sex. However, groping and other forced things will come up way sooner.

Yeah, don't worry, it's completely avoidable. The MC is supposed to be how you'd react and feel, so you can be as nice or mean as you want.
As for the forced things, I meant more in terms of choosing to force yourself on girls instead of the player being forced into doing unkind things. I should've clarified that.

Hmm, sounds kind of rape-y. To each there own, but as long as it's avoidable I don't care how anyone else gets their rocks off. I love slow burns but I just hope it doesn't become glacial if you aren't being forceful.

I agree 100%. I won't encourage molesting any girls and it's probably not even the best route to go with, since they don't exactly appreciate someone touching them in their privates.

I love slow burns but I just hope it doesn't become glacial if you aren't being forceful.

Thanks for explaining. I would say, that if you want quick lewdness, forcing yourself upon someone is most likely the quickest and easiest way. But I will try to make sure that consensual and non-consensual things get added around the same time, so people are less inclined to traumatise my girls.

I have my guess about the "eight episodes" anime, if i'm right a friend of mine is ready to curse the anime but i find it quite interesting on my part if you see the tiny details. Didn't expect that reference though ^^

What they said. There has to be a balance between a rush and constant blue balling so to speak. I like build up and rewards but having to wait, say three times as long as someone going the forceful route for example, would just be frustrating. You need to be steadily moving forward with more options available that shows you are actually getting somewhere without getting it for nothing. That's just boring to me.
