Anyone know if Kagura Games would post their games on GOG. I see almost on all KG games patch on Steam and Gog but for months there are no new games on Gog.

I would rather buy games on Gog than Steam (no external patch needed)

Just a thought but maybe try asking Kagura Games.
I asked over on Kagura Games’s Discord about why there haven’t been any new releases on GOG for a while, and the short version is: GOG told them they’re not taking more KG titles right now because they “want to focus on other things.”

It’s not an adult game ban though, GOG is still adding stuff from Shiravune and even ran a big NSFW giveaway recently after the whole Visa/Mastercard debacle. Swaps (the Kagura Games marketing guy/mod on their Discord) said about a month ago on 12 July, that there are 5 more games already signed with GOG but that’s it for now. If we want more after that, we’ll need to make some noise so GOG knows there’s demand.

So If we want to change this, best thing we can do is:
  • Send GOG support a ticket asking them to reach out to Kagura Games and get their newer titles on the store. Say you’ll buy them here instead of other storefronts if they show up. Make them think you think it’s just Kagura being slow/refusing to submit, and that you want GOG to nudge/push them to come to GOG.
  • Vote for the games on GOG’s Dreamlist so when they get those tickets, they can see there’s demand.
If you can’t be bothered to send a ticket, at least hit the Dreamlist. It’s quick and the more votes, the better the impact.

Links to all Kagura Games not on GOG:

I will be updating this thread when new games from Kagura are released and I add them to the Dreamlist. Even if you don't want to buy on GOG at least help us with the dreamlist... place pressure on gog.

Edit: GOG does have one games that Steam doesn't from Kagura in case you're interested:

Yeah i heard the same excuse somewhere else too after posting that comment. The "focus on other things" was given as "focusing on restoring old games" (citation needed) but really it's just an excuse to back down IMO. Even their recent giveaway with adult games felt more like an all bark and no bite promotional stunt.

Personally i don't want to buy any adult games in the same place i buy non-adult games. I prefer to keep that separation for my games libraries. I also have some complaints against GOG unrelated to this. But good luck.

Well, I love GOG and I don't mind mixing libraries, I already own a lot of H games on my main Steam account, I just hope people can help by voting on the games so GOG feels more pressure to bring those games to their storefront.

Personally, I definitely want to have my smut on GoG. I just plain don't like Steam and their Steam launcher, and I want my games without DRM so if I need too I can just copy the files easy from one PC to another and whatnot. My H-game purchases are split between GoG and dlsite and I haven't spent a single dime on Steam.

That said, I'd take anything that Swaps says on discord with a grain of salt. Mainly because he's just the discord guy. He's not some big-wig in the company. He says what he's told to say and nothing else. We know very little of what's going on between Kagura and GoG, but given that Shiravune is still publishing on GoG and I've heard nothing about there being problems for ongoing games like VoidBound... I suspect that part of the complication is from the Kagura side of things.

I've heard some rumors that GoG had issues with Kagura because their unpatched games were too buggy and unlike Steam, GoG insists on a minimum level of quality. Supposedly.

Who knows what the truth is? Though I'm convinced that the head-ache is more complicated than just "GoG doesn't want Kagura's stuff".

Regardless, voting for various Kagura games to get on GoG definitely doesn't hurt.

GOG does a lot of posturing but they are absolute fucking COWARDS. Always have and always will be.
They are as much a bitch to the payment processors as Steam is.
They will not touch them until the controversy winds down.

I feel like this thread should be bumped once a week or something so more people see it and hopefully vote for the games they'd consider buying if they were up on GoG.

Leaving the matter of Steam aside... there's no telling when the big bad companies might try to pull the plug on Kagura's normal store-front. Having this stuff on GoG is a great way to ensure that it'll stay available for a long time. While GoG will never be mainstream the way Steam is because too many people don't understand the importance of actually properly owning the thing they buy... it's still big enough that it's unlikely it'll ever go away. At least not this generation.

I am bumping the thread every time new game is released and added to the dreamlist. Please double check to see if any game is missing.

Speaking of which, a new game was added:

Haven't they already pulled the plug? I recently was checking options available for selling my game, the page says: "Currently, we only accept PayPal. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. We’re actively applying to multiple payment processors, but the approval process takes time." I didn't actually try to buy anything, so maybe the page is outdated, but it sounds like the payment processors cut them off (and surely PayPal will, too, if they notice).

Huh, interesting... I only bought a game off of Kagura's store exactly once. I remember it forcing me through Paypal, but it didn't mention the thing about other Payment processors. At the time, I though it was because of the country I was buying from or something.

If they're already in this situation, they're probably only a few years at best from having their personal storefront fucked over. At worst, they'll be stuck selling on Steam and keeping the patches free on their site in a matter of months.

You'd think they'd fight harder to have their games on GoG... but hell if I know what Kagura's business people are thinking...

Four games apparently got added to GoG from Kagura. Why these games? Why now? What does it mean? No one knows tbh...

Some could say that these are part of the rumored "still within the contract" games and there won't be many more, if any. It could also be a sign that the situation between Kagura and GoG might be changing after the Steam debacle.

In the end, we can only wait, see, and keep voting the games that aren't there yet. Meanwhile, I'll probably buy the Sheryl game soon. Heard good things about that one. The other three, I don't care about tbh, but someone else might.

I remember Swaps, the CM on kagura's discord saying there was a contract signed for 4 more titles to be released. I'll try to find where he said that.

Found it for ya, it was back in July.

So, assuming that's correct (and who knows, because he's not a Kagura CEO or whatever they have doing business decisions and whatnot), there will be at most only 1 more game released on GoG.

In theory.

In practice, who knows? That comment happened around the same time as the mess with Steam, but it was likely based on much older information and dealings. The backlash and everything hadn't happened at the time. GoG might have back-tracked on their stance... assuming their stance had anything to do with them not wanting adult games on their platform. I still suspect that their issues with Kagura are more complicated than that and that there's some stupidity from Kagura's side of the fence too.

People should keep upvoting the games they want in the dreamlist. I'm a patient pervert, nothing's stopping me from playing games from here and then paying for them later after all.

Seems my assumption was wrong as 4 new games were just released:

Curiously I didn't have these on my dreamlist list, seems like I need to double check... I'll do that when I have the time.

It's impossible to know for sure what's going on tbh. Only Kagura knows for sure, and I seriously doubt the full details will ever end up Discord or anything like that. It's simply not how business works.

I have been trying to add the two new kagura games to the dreamlist, made a request to add tentacaliens and everybody wants my girl, but so far no one from gog staff added the games yet.

I also haven't had the time to go through the GOG kagura games on sale yet, but I noticed these two missing form my list:

Going to update my earlier post:
