To me it's just the constant stories most devs have that get me. Like you said, "Oh my dog threw up on my pc and his vomit got into the vents and onto my graphics card and fried it." "Oh no I got COVID." "Oh no I got in a car accident." "Oh no my best friend's cousin's father in law's cat broke its leg so I've had to support them." Like goddamn, I'm sure real life shit does genuinely happen sometimes, but just say "I wanted to but didn't quite get there, sorry." It's ok to have goals and not meet them. All we're saying is that they're con artists or the most unlucky people in the world. Just in the last month Rem's gotten covid, battled through depression, and Sachi's computer died due to the 13th gen Intel CPU. Three months ago their project files got corrupted due to an unknown reason. Given what we've experienced elsewhere on F95 with flaky devs, most of us are assuming the former.
He can just say "Fuck off I'm not doing this anymore" and leave and I'd at least respect the honesty, he did actually produce a relatively complete game which is way more than most devs ever seem to accomplish. Everything else since then has just been extra.
