But I guess it would be harder to write these games than regurgitating the same old formula for the umpteenth time.
This game still rocks of course, but not because of the story (which is intentionally ridiculous I guess) but because it has actual well developed gameplay and is not just a choose your own adventure game with some tacked on mechanics or RPG Maker standard combat like most hentai games.

I've always played a slut-build in this game, and sometimes while fucking my way to victory I can get stuck in an endless cycle of orgasm -> (bliss) -> clear head; when a single sex action can cause Karryn's pleasure to hit 120%. This means I can't use my recover energy abilities to prevent myself from losing the fuckfest. What could I be doing to avoid the endless orgasm trap while still maximizing my slut-build gameplay? Resist Orgasm only works up to 1000% pleasure, so in some battles the trap is inevitable.
Guess you are encountering enemies that are quite charm resistant. Maybe try flirting with them and using that charm boost skill (forgot the name) so you thin the herd before they all gang up on you. That way I can usually outlast them. Also blowjobs are OP because they let you act first.
Otoh my Karryn normally isn't slutty enough to fill the pleasure gauge from a single enemy action.
Could it be that you are also stuck in a cycle of losing and getting gangbanged on a level that's rioting? She gets more sensitive the longer you go without her sleeping in her own bed.

So is this one of those games where you have to lose to see the scenes or can you win and still see lewd scenes?
you get to scenes progressively, while during combat, and when you lose you get major gang rape scenes.
It's built to be tough so that your char doesn't breeze through the fights without getting corrupt

There basically are 2 ways to play this regarding sex scenes.
Karryn can either be dom or sub ... or both, you decide how scenes play out by using skills to change arousal for individual erogenous zones. But sub scenes get a lot more love.
Tbh I never tried to make her a dominatrix. Not sure if that's even fun.
Sub route doesn't mean that she loses every 'sex fight' though. She can get very proactive and make inmates and guards come left and right by the dozens without getting exhausted if you choose so.
One thing to keep in mind is that you need enemies to 'use' her quite a few times to even unlock the individual sex skills.
For example there is a dominant looking cowgirl position that you can use on enemies, but they need to fuck her about 2 dozen times or so before you even get it (which is asinine but whatever).
I'm sure that would be easy to change with mods though if you want.

Actually that would make so much more sense. No sex counter or arousal requirements for her using sex skills on her own, but maybe wet status still needed for vaginal sex. At the same time enemies still need to get her arousal up to initiate sex. Maybe make it so that wet status has lower arousal requirement than enemies initiating vaginal sex.
As it is now you can't prevent enemies from starting sex if you want to use sex skills yourself. Both have the same requirements.
That needs to be separated so that pure dom sex fights are possible.

This is a managment game. You gotta keep control and order. You can win fights by force or with sex or the hybrid of both. Failure is losing control which has a bad end. Loosing fights leads to more sex which leads to losing control. Sex is a weapon here that needs to be trained.
Dominatrix/Sadist style was what I started out with in my first playthrough. It was quite fun initially but after learning more about the game and trying to lean into sadist playstyles more, you kinda realize that the sadist playstyle isn't really all that fleshed out IMO. Actually outside of passives and certain dialogue (that bleed into each other from time to time), the distinction between sadist and masochist tend to just blend together both in terms of gameplay and theme.
You're not really missing out much I feel.
