honestly, I find that AI/non-IA debate dry, tasteless and useless.
my position on this is art from an AI trained on art pieces from artists unaware of that appropriation and not credited just to pump out thousands of pictures to make a quick buck off of unsuspecting consumers, either by selling galleries or games incorporating said art, should be shut down and sued to oblivion.
An artist training an AI on his own art and make manual correction on the AI product with the goal of streamlining the art of his own game and enhance his workflow to give content faster to the consumers is fine by me, especially if the original art is already existing and the artist don't steal/train on others, then, AI just become another tool of graphic design, much like a photographer touching up pictures of a marriage or another important life event.
the only thing I would frown upon is said artist becoming a lazy bum and churning new original content only using AI and even then, it still fine as long it's his art seeding the AI and we have no right to critique his production methods at that point.
if it's bothering you people, just vote with your wallet by not buying the game. if you didn't bought the game and downloaded it there, you are in an even less position to complain, outside maybe a "it seems like IA art, I don't like it" and close the sterile debate right then and there.

Basically, but because the developer releases content that they don't like, they start kicking and crying very loudly and start saying that they are right and that the developer is doing it wrong because he doesn't make content adapted to their tastes. The developer has to continue like this and ignore them for a while, one thing to listen to people and another thing is when the people take ownership of your project and tell you what you have to do, but if the project fails later, who is going to have problems and may go bankrupt is the developer and not the one who believes he has good ideas and wants to improve the game based on his subjectivity and personal tastes.
and then there are those that I call the AI seekers, they are ppl who have a little knowledge of drawing and go through the threads searching for what they believe is AI without any type of proof and with a success rate of 100% when the tags say AI cg or because the game is cataloged as "this art has been created with AI" if you remove those two signs the rate success drops to 0%
You are putting this into theoretical scenarios when there's no need, you can just examine the real example in front of you. No one asked or wanted this, a lot of people don't like this, it's taking an absurd amount of time to produce even though AI is doing all the heavy lifting. It's just pure milking. People wanted the other half of the game to actually exist, instead they got this because it's the easiest way for the dev to pretend to be busy. If this was any of the missing content done through AI you would not be seeing even 10% of this backlash.
Fact of the matter is: anyone who is familiar with this game's development and still does not see the ever more evident pattern, is either doing it on purpose or a grade A moron.

Only posting this 1 time, since it's off topic, but piracy IS a form of theft. It doesn't matter that there's no physical object taken, it's still someone's work not being paid for. A similar example is if you get a designer to make a logo for a business and they give you the files of the logo and you don't pay them, it's theft since you've taken their work without pay.
Most pirates aren't going to buy whatever they're getting for free via piracy anyway, but it's STILL stealing, since people are supposed to be paid for their work.

Stealing definition "the action or offense of taking another person's property without permission or legal right and without intending to return it; theft." The last part is key, you can't return something that the original owner still has, hence, it becomes piracy. The law, piracy falls under, is copyright infringement. Here's another definition for theft : "The dishonest appropriation of property belonging to another with the intention to permanently deprive the other of it." Both definitions explicitly state you have to deprive the other person of the property to be classified as theft.
Your example is weird, because it's still not stealing. The business didn't steal the files, once again that falls under different laws, I have no idea what because it's not simple copyright infringement. In this scenario, the business commissioned the designer, there was a contract between the two. For example, if the contract didn't state the designer would get paid, it would be perfectly legal, albeit immoral, that the business didn't pay for it. But if it was in the contract that the designer would get paid for it, then the business broke the contract. Breach of Contract law or something or other I dunno.
Yes, it does matter. Because it falls under a completely different definition if it's digital. Simply because when you steal something in real life, it doesn't leave a "copy", but if you pirate you don't "steal" you "copy" the original files. Unless you deprive the person of their property, it's not stealing. It's so simple really I don't get why people have to constantly equate piracy to stealing.
I'll give you an example too, let's say I hack into Remtairys computer and copy all the development files for Karryn's Prison, that's Piracy as I'm not depriving him of the files. End result, we both have the files but I have it illegally, hence piracy, and it falls under copyright protection laws because it's copyright infringement.
Let's say I delete his files afterwards. End result only I have the files for Karryn's Prison. I deprived him of his property and now only I have it. That's theft, and falls under laws dealing with stealing.
If you wanna argue piracy is stealing because you deprive the owners of profit, then using adblocker means you're a thief.
