have the game on steam anyone knows why it updates like every few days? Even when I'm not Playing it - there is an update to download but no patchnotes.
They've been continuing to fix bugs and tweak the game in preparation for a physical release in Japan. For whatever reason they don't use a Beta channel to contain the rapid updates until they get to a stable point.

The patch notes are in the on Steam. As of this post the most recent version is 1.3.1.22.

Here's the info from earlier in this thread. They've updated it: https://f95zone.to/threads/karryns-prison-v1-3-1-21-full-dlcs-remtairy.33777/post-7142500 It the CCMod and such which are supposed to still work even with game updates. How much? Don't know.

Does the Karryn Slutty Babe mod work well for you with this game version? For me some features dont work and some crash my game. I disabled the vitamins feature it always caused crashes. Now after many hours on playing on my descension playthrough I got crash during the level 2 defeat scene, according to the log the ccmod tried to impregnate my Karryn but the shitty slutty babe mod probably tried to insert an x-ray/animation or something and failed. I really want to delete this fucking mod and never install it again since it is more annoyance than actual fun but I am afraid if it breaks my save since it interferes in many things in the game :cautious:

Tried the latest unmodded version and it commits 30 GB of memory on startup. Of course, memory usage falls down shortly afterwards to a reasonable few GBs, but that's still crazy shit. If you have fixed-size or disabled pagefile and 32 GBs of RAM or less, it will crash regardless of whether Steam is running or not.
The Fast Cut-ins mod is like an equivalent of "Compiling shaders..." in modern AAA games lol.

The premise sounds not that fanciful — a warden fighting her way through hordes of prisoners in a 2D RPG Maker world — yet the result is far more impressive than it has any right to be. Beneath the adult framing lies a surprisingly robust and entertaining action game that would stand firmly on its own even without the mature content.

Each encounter feels distinct, thanks to clever variations in combat mechanics that keep the pacing fresh. The developer clearly understands how to make simple systems sing; the fights are fluid, punchy, and satisfying in a way that few small-scale projects manage.

The visuals, though modest, carry undeniable personality. The 2D art conveys energy and movement, and there’s a deliberate rhythm to how the world unfolds. It’s not visually spectacular, but it has style — the kind that grows on you.

What could have been a throwaway concept becomes, instead, a genuinely enjoyable experience. It’s proof that good design and engaging gameplay can elevate any premise, even one wrapped in the trappings of an adult fantasy. Remove those elements, and the game would still be worth recommending — which is, perhaps, the highest compliment one can pay it.

It’s the sort of game that doesn’t need to apologize for what it is, because at its core, it remembers what truly matters: it’s simply fun to play.

If every developer in this genre cared half as much about mechanics as this one clearly does, we might stop calling them “adult games” altogether — and start calling them what they deserve to be: good games.
