Not lewd/mature in any way but I loved reading Call of the Night a few years ago. One of my favourite parts of Katalist is just the atmosphere, and how the MC seems out of his depth every step of the way. It's a whole new world he's thrust into, and you're always left wondering what everyone's true intentions are.
Call of the Night felt the same whilst I was reading it. MC thrust into new world, night-time atmosphere, everyone's got something to hide. Haven't seen the anime couldn't tell you about it, but honestly wouldn't mind watching it. Also I know it's not an anime/manga but I really enjoyed playing Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines for the exact same reasons.
Honestly I liked Call of the Night more than I should I think because I was in a sort of similar position when reading it. I had met some really freaky characters at university at that time and it turned my world upside-down, and I felt like I was in a Katalist of my own for a little while, just no hot femdom sex (unfortunately
