ok so am I missing something or is the combat in this game just the worst thing on planet earth? I have been fighting Vhidna for like an hour, she just spams tempt attacks, you use calm down then she just does another one next turn so you cant calm down again then your insta killed at least like half the time (she can also outspeed your calm downs so you just die anyways!!!). You spend 80% of your turns calming down or setting up grab blocks (she can also just use her grab when you dont have the tp to focus and I don't think I've ever seen a struggle actually work so its also just an instakill essencially) so she basically just out heals any meaningful damage to you and there is nothing you can do about it.
I got kinda close to beating her once because I crit on an energy release attack but she just said "im bored now" and decided to do the insta kill level drain attack thing

If you think it’s too hard, you can try changing the difficulty in the settings.

im aware but im stubborn and refuse to play on easy difficulties. I wouldn't exactly call it "hard" either, its just pray she doesn't spam tease moves and insta-kill you with 0 ability to do anything about it

Stunning abilities/attacks are a must.
You pretty much have to cycle between stunning, reducing seduction stacks and doing damage in between turns in order to win normally.
There's a lot of weapons you can find or craft that have a stunning ability so look out for those.

But seriously, RPG Maker MV has compatibility issues on the more recent MacOS versions. Try to google some workarounds, like compatibility layers. This is, of course, assuming that it isn't just a basic download error. I think I remember someone mentioning a Mac version floating around in the past, no idea if that's still a thing.
