I remember this scene. It happened in the forest. When you recruit the two girls and get them on your side, you must open the locked gate below the village in the southern forest, where the guard girl was standing on the right.

I dont exactly know what you are refering to. From my findings there isnt any gate below the "hidden" Demi village (the one you can tp to through the coven store) or do you perhaps refer to the ogre property to like the upper left of Vaila's house?

The screenshot that I provided refers to the area in the sentinel fourth mine if you go up from Alex's room to this place.

If you go down from this area you enter a place where you can find the two ghosts of the screenshot. I think if I remember correctly your body gets dropped here at one point.

But you are right with alot of hidden events being in the game already. Theres a full companion interaction system planned. There is full dialogues that can happen if your companions are under the right circumstances. For example you can get drunk with the coin pixies giving them unique dialogue. There are even multiple conversations coded into the game with indeed talking about her pasts. What shes been doing for the last few decades. There are also already post first upgrade ritual events in the game for Ayleen.
