Ain't no way it got the abandoned tag, one of the very rare game that am fully into it, i love everything about it, the artstyle, the story, the gameplay, the embience, and the femdom.... and the cute femboys..too, its always the good games that get abandoned. what a shame...

Well, all of the last dev posts were on October 31, 2024. I don't know if he is active on Discord, but there are some possibilities:

1. He just quietly quit the project.(most likely)
2. He straight up died or had an accident.
3. He is just silently working on stuff in silence. (least likely and probably copium at this point)

If it is the first option pretty shitty not making a post about it and still leaving the support pages like Patreon on.

The abandoned tag is something F95 gives to projects that haven't been updated in a long time(I think is like 6~8+months without an update), so there is this little hope/copium that is just the dev is still working on the game, but i wouldn't bet on it.

Well he updated the the wiki himself a couple days ago… so he might be working the game to version 1.00 instead of updating for .98. Version1 is supposed to a huge overhaul and remake to the game, including different routes for characters, choices that affect the stories, new gameplay mechanics… most likely mods put the abandon tag on there because of what you said… in the end, we’ll see but till said otherwise, it’s abandoned

It's pretty common for Teary to go radio silent and miss deadlines. This isn't the kiss of death it would be with other devs (Teary has never given a shit about his fanbase/patrons).

That's my working theory, knowing the huge backing that he has, he kept the lie going for the patreon going. He really had posted a few isolated pictures, not giving a REAL status on the update.

dont go killing him say something a little positive like he lost his progress or something i know this is selfish but teary has to stay alive for my bonnie and for this game completion or else i will haunt you and him and reincarnate you both to the world of katalist as a female so you cant even enjoy femdom

I totally forgot this game had a wiki, well at least the dev is in good health. You are probably right since he edited stuff in the wiki, and in the end of the day, the abandoned tag is given by f95. But still, the guy could have just made a post saying "It will take a bit longer for the update because I decided to add more stuff". And no, the tag was put before i said anything on Tearly just vanishing.

Just played this game and really enjoyed it but before it got the abandoned tag on it I saw people saying it almost been a year since he updated it and now seeing it has a abandoned tag on it shame I really liked this game and worries me that he been gone for a year hope he is alive and ok at least.

Right, there’s been teases of expansions (vihdna mainly) already teased and scrapped waaayy in the past iirc. This last update, if only that one encounter was the issue, could’ve just been scrapped or worked around, definitely wouldn't have taken multiple months to fix.

it's at least temporarily abandoned, we will get GTA 6 before we get another katalist update, and no i didn't just get the game on here, i supported him on patreon in the past but have not in a while. when or if the game is ever updated again i will support again

Fair enough, it's best to not long-term support Patreons that do not have stable schedule (and something to offer at a stable rate, too)

Even if he appears out of nowhere and delivers the update, how many more till the game is finished? How much code needs to be reworked completely till it's even possible to work on the new content? Teary can't work on this single game for years without burning out, so I think Katalyst will be abandoned either way sooner or later.
