Nice, i finished it aswell. For those trying, look for a button with the same color ^^
Animation wise, very polished and huge potential size-wise!
I'm not a huge fan of entirely linear platformers, but this looks very neat.

I remember playing a similar game with female protagonist and several types of enemies such as slimes, tentacles and weird flowers, all with animations and such, but i've lost the name sadly.

I will say those buttons could be a bit more obvious. It took me a while to find the first one, and I wasn't even sure that's what it was at first. It blends in a bit too well.

Castle Evil is the most recent finished-and-translated metroidvania I can remember coming out.

(Am I the only one who always said it "metrovania"? I mean, I know it's the two series names mashed together.)

I'm just amazed at how quickly the Patreon blew up. First looked at it, like a few people. At the time of writing, 244 people and making near $1500 a month.

(Also interesting that they sprung for CG for a tech demo... unless the dev's also an artist. Or they had the image on hand anyway from some other commission or something.)
I drew everything myself! If you like my art you can find more here: ^w^

if I had to guess, Game Maker Studio and Aseprite. Those are probably the two most common. If not Aseprite, then probably photoshop, but it can be inconvenient for beginners trying pixel art due to the large amount of options you have.
Yep that's right. For pixel art I use Asesprite and a bit of Photoshop for certain tasks. I use Clip Studio Paint Pro for my illustrations. We started out building the game in Unity but have since moved over to GMS2.

Do you have plans to add other playable female characters, like the rabbits in your gallery?
These were for a different game we put on hiatus! It would have been a (J)RPG with some visual novel elements. Here's a mockup I made:

This game will only have Kincaid as a playable character.

Not sure if you saw my comment, but what do you think about a system to "attract" enemies as an attack rather than requiring them to knock you out?
I saw your comment! I'm playing with the idea in my head and plan on buying Tower of Succubus to check it out more in-depth.

For now, the defeated enemies remain on the stage because I intend them to be interactable down the line, with Kincaid being the initiator!
