I check these but I too get disappointed in between when there's nothing new and seemingly plenty of support behind it. It could just be that they're not getting the funding or something came up, shit happens, cookiedraggie I'm not going to hold it against but something like TiTS and CoC2 creators shoving wank bait into a game that's taken years then falls into the same sort of overlap. Not the wank bait part, but the lack of feeling like there's progress.
Getting butthurt just means that some simple wants/expressed sentiments hold more water than paragraphs of pent up anger. I'm no better pointing this out to you than you raging at people online.
Edit: Now that I think about it, I haven't checked the patreon or discord in awhile, I know they like trying new things but it's been a hot minute since new content dropped. People don't always think to check but just voice their opinions for a few minutes.
Well that's just the thing though isn't it - majority of people won't even bother to check anything to see how development is going, they don't bother to put a post asking for information or actually discussing anything. They'd just prefer to pop in and flatly and rudely ask for updates or a link or complain about slow development.
And of course if you start comparing them to other developers that have more/less funding or larger/smaller teams you'd start questioning things. But there's always reasons for these things, just because a project gets a lot of funding doesn't mean they can suddenly start working faster or just 'hire more people'.
Look at bloody star citizen for example, so much funding, so much support, they have a large team (honestly took them forever to actually organise their whole team anyway). I don't expect anything to complete for them anytime at all - they do A LOT of work though I see it all the time and they have the alpha running all the time and keep bringing new content to it. But with the whole scope of their game and the amount of features they want, It's going to take a bloody long time and If they don't 'finish' it their ceraintly not going to stop working on it though outside of some kind of disaster.
Every now and then I'll voice my distaste about the situation on things but it never means anything in the end anyway.
I'll happily wait for cookiedraggy to finish their game and gladly purchase it and I hope they get great sales on the game and work on another because I really love their work.
