Or to put it simply: the Patreon has over 2000 members with a 1$ minimum pledge, you tell me what the reason for slow updates could be.
Two people, plus one "external artist", working on the game. And they posted regular updates until the holiday season in December.
As a year-long backer, I know their diligence, and I am sure that they will, slowly but steadily, improve the game.

I said this game was quality and I spawned an entire argument

The regular updates don't matter, the perceived diligence doesn't matter, what matters is that I, a normal average joe user that checks in from time to time, have looked at this game legitimately two years ago (10/04/2023 according to my files) and the game didn't change a single bit bar for some useless garbage to keep fans like you tricked into thinking there's progress. One or two more h-animations within TWO YEARS is absolute garbage progress and if it's not laziness or lack of discipline to finish a product, it's a deliberate slowing of progress to get more money.
You can fire up the game, play for 20 minutes and already encounter the first "teehee there's no content here yet but there will be in the future!" garbage. This should absolutely not be happening in a game that's been developed for YEARS, especially one that has all core mechanics (movement, combat, etc.) finished and all that's missing is content.

You're being grifted or profoundly stupid, one or the other.

Edit: In fact, let me show some receipts:

You took time out of your day just to do whatever this is, just for the person you responded to, to say "Cool."
Also love how you left out the part of the small development team in your little rampage.

If that's for quality games, then what's this game's excuse?

But as an aside, no, quality games don't take forever to do small updates. That's simply untrue.
D+ comeback
also "but as an aside"

Mans literally said "The experiences of people observing development don't matter. What matters is that I, someone who has explicitly not kept up with development, have seen that this game didn't add the kind of new content that I want. This is clearly a sign that the developers are sitting back and relaxing, doing nothing, while the foolish users that trust their "eXpErIeNcE" and "ObSeRvAtIoN" could never understand the deception that I, one who doesn't care enough to check on progress, can see entirely clearly."

Frankly, it's not out of the question that the devs are sitting back and doing fuck all, I'm not trying to invalidate that idea. But you stated fully transparently and up front that you didn't even look to check. Didn't bother to check the fact that there are 2 devs and one artist juggling game development and an art career, didn't bother to check their full rehaul of every art asset to be more high res because it was a factor limiting the quality of the game, didn't bother checking out the refinement of the movement and combat options, not to mention the literally full new level that was being made.

Again, maybe they finished all that in like 4 months and sat on their asses for the next 5 months. But your lack of knowledge about any of that makes your argument extremely hard to take seriously.

(Honestly, I know this response accomplishes nothing, but I'm bored and a generally unhappy individual, so this seemed like a good way to blow off some steam)

Can't say I don't sympathize with this sentiment to some extent but I am willing to give them benefit of the doubt. The game is made by two people (three with the artist) and they're doing it in their free time. People would probably compare this to Team Cherry that made Hollow Knight in under two years but what they don't realize is that HK had a kickstarter campaign that allowed the devs to put everything aside and focus on the game without being worried about their finances.

Kincaid devs don't have the same luxury, they're doing this in their free time and it's nor really easy being a coder, level designer, story designer and background artist all at the same time.
And I'm not even talking about the coding. I'm sure Kincaid doesn't have that much of a spaghetti code like let's say Team Fortress 2, but even experienced modders will tell you that modding or editing an already existing code is a pain rivaled only by dragging your balls though sea of broken glass.

Yes, there is a room for improvement, maybe more open approach from the devs but at the end of the day it's an indie project that people make in their free time. They didn't open a kickstarter, giving big promises and pocketing all the money, they have a patreon where you can decide if you want to support their project or not. If you one day decide that you no longer have faith in the devs, you can just stop supporting their project. No one is holding you cat at gunpoint as a hostage in order to prevent you from discontinuing your support. And if you want to argue with sunk cost falacy well, at that point you're better off playing some predatory chinese gacha game.

You could ease it up and just tell us you want more no matter what.

That tells me a lot how self-centered you are to a sickening extend.

May the lord have mercy with you when your final moment has arrived. :KEK:

what the hell do you mean? they have already stated that they do not work on anything else, if that were the case cookie would still be doing commissions and Null wouldnt have left another game project to start kincaid

Hello, friends! Does anyone know why the attached cheat table is not working? What could be the reason?
