Hey thank you for going into detail with your answers. Basically right now everything I was hoping for is in the game, planned, might be added or certain stuff won't be added (like that goddamn ntr stuff, I hate itPhew...That's alot of questions.
Alright here we go...
Well, when I first started to think about developing a medieval game, This was my first question too...Whether it will have other races in it or not and honestly I was conflicted about this...So I decided to decide this by doing a poll on patreon in the future, when I will have a decent amount of patreons.
Yes, but not until later in the game...*optional
Once I have decent amount of patreons, I will be doing polls over there...Polls for NPC'S, character design, clothing, any suggested topics that has a popular demand and other small influencing stuff....So yes, patreons can influence the game in a small way...I mean after all they are the ones who are supporting us financially, So they deserve to have a piece in the pie. Although there are certain topics/things we will never do or add in the game no matter how much we get paid...Example : Fetishes like "gay" "ntr" will never be added....
My plans to increase support is by updating the game regularly and showing people that we deserve their support.
For these 3 question the only answer I can give is "It totally depends on the support we get". There's a big world and lots of potential for many events. Personally I would love to make it as big/long as possible. But obviously we would need patreon's support in order to expand the game into a big universe...Basically what I mean is, the higher the support the bigger the game gets. And as for animations, Obviously we would like to have big animations and when we have good support we can hire a dedicated animator...
Yes, unfortunately I have seen alot of devs abandoning their games due to lack of support...But should we even blame them for it? I mean as a dev myself, I understand how time and effort it takes to develop a game...And obviously every dev have some goals that they want to hit. And when they are unable to reach those goals, It's pretty obvious that they abandon their project. I mean what else should we expect from them?....So that's why we should support the projects we like
I am not sure what u mean by scammers, but I assume u mean "hit and run" devs maybe? Honestly I never understood these type of devs, bcoz even after getting so much support they decide to leave the project...
As for us, Yes! we too have goals and expectations like everyone else...And as for our ambition, We hope that one day we can do this full time...Basically we are ready to give up our full time careers if we hit our patreon's "full time" goal. We know it's very ambitious and we also know its going to be a long journey till we get there...But we are ready for it.
Also we as developers are very passionate about our game, I have always been a huge fan of medieval era...I literally grew up watching medieval movies and tv shows...I always wanted to do something with medieval theme (Funny thing is...when I was a kid, after watching a movie I used to imagine myself as a director and make my own version of movie in my mind). So yeah we just want to do what we love and hopefully we can do this full time some day...
With scammers I mean actions like hit and run, milking the patrons with very slow progress, people who have long lost interest in their project and lie why things like quality, deadlines and so on are either dropping or get constantly missed, changing the nature of the game for no real reason and pretend that they will make up for it at some point and many more bad habits.
Ofc I can understand that putting lots of time into something and getting little to now response in support can lead to devs abandoning it. That's not a problem if honesty is on the table.
