[v0.24.2]
What do you call a game, typically an RPG, that's far too overambitious for it's creator's skill and/or budget? A game that is vast in terms of gameplay mechanics and it's lore/setting, but is marred by copious bugs, and while put off by the general playerbase, is often able to find a cult following. We call this kind of game Eurojank.
This game is Eurojank. Minus being made in eastern Europe(I think?).
I was honestly swept away by the UI, setting, immersion, and gameplay systems at play in this game. Add to this morale choices to be good, bad, or somewhere in-between and the ambition this game displays far surpasses what most indie games will ever be, let alone for a porn game. It's setting, while bleak, manages to not go too far and feel like edgy misery porn, unlike some other games at try to do this. Character 3D models are great and the rags-to-riches story will never not feel satisfying. It even has a simple and fun card mini-game!
But, like all great Eurojank, it trips over it's own ambition. There are too many variables for what actions you did or did not do, causing a lot of discrepancy. The issue here isn't that there's too little content, it's that the little content there is is absolutely fucked up. It will very often soft or hard lock itself, bricking your save, so save often. If you cut out all the time I wasted needing to reload a save to get something to work, I probably only spent about 1-3 hours in game, including a little grinding and a lot of wandering around. Keys simply don't work and never have no matter how hard I try to fiddle around with them. I was able to enter deep in to the city, but there was no way out, and no way forward (I killed the sewer monster and nothing came of it) soft locking yet another save.
It's frustrating because I want to be part of the cult that loves this game, but the amount of game breaking bugs is out of control, to a point where I don't think it could ever be fixed. This game would easily be a 5/5 with more content and, like, 3/4ths of the bugs fixed.
