Again, really?

I think you are missing the point of my "REALLY?!" Again, using a term of objectification and sexualization. Essentially making the same mistake as someone whom are attempting to correct.

What's worse is using the term and then defining it incorrectly even within the context of objectification and sexualization.

No. The dehumanizing term "Shemale" is used by people to talk about a transgender individual who was assigned male at birth, but who presents themselves (and may identify themselves) as a woman.
genuine question because I didnt read what you guys are argueing about, when did the term shemale become dehumanizing? because here in canada its not and, i know dozens of trannys, shemales and drag-queens and that is how they refer to themselves I have never actually met a single person (in rl) who refers to themselves as mtf or any of that other retarded shit
maybe you live in a part of the world thats like super sensitive or somthin?
kind of like how different areas of the world have different type of insults?
I really dont think its a good idea to pretend to be offended for a group of people youre not apart of

For your info. Tranny is now offensive too. Just an informative post for posterity.

Hmm, I'ma need some evidence. How many Carhartt jackets do you own?

How was it used? Several ways. Almost every way you could think of. Yeah, some used it as a school yard insult. Others, when I was older, was nerdy kids talking about shit. Just conversation.
You've proved my point. Thank you. Outside of scholastic (nerds) it was used as an insult. "almost every way you could think of" --- there are very few ways to use it, except scholastically, medically, talking about worms, and using it as an insult.
Did you talk to people? What part of the midwest? Was it Ohio? They're fake midwest.
Ohio is fake midwest. And you're being facetious. I was not a social wallflower - but I didn't hang around with folks who used the term "almost every way you could think of" --- because, again, there are very few ways to use it. I've already mentioned them for kids, teens - biology class and terms... and using it as an insult.
I doubt a lot of what you paste is what you support other than in the vague term of "these are facts",
Depends upon the topic, but yes - See this:
I despise the spreading of misinformation and willful ignorance.
As for beliefs? There's some of the reason why I left politics and governance. My adherence to my beliefs.
And a bunch of ignorant racists.
There are quite a few around us. What's worse are the people who think they aren't racist, but don't stand up to those who are. It isn't enough to be against racism - one must be an anti-racist to make change. One of the worst frenemy anti-bigotry has is the white liberal who says one thing but does another (aka NIMBY).
i know dozens of trannys, shemales and drag-queens and that is how they refer to themselves
Some groups of people do. That's their choice. There are Black people who call themselves n****ers. But it is a term used within certain areas of the Black community and has various levels of acceptance and meanings within the Black community.

And yes, tranny has long been a pejorative. Again, there are websites out there people can learn from and gain better understanding.
In an effort to bring back the gay to this conversation. Gay used to mean happy.
And more - but gay was chosen within the gay community to describe themselves. From OED:

And, regarding the reference to queer - yes, there has been a movement to claim the word to remove the negative usage, instead using it positively. Hence why we see it used in more positive senses in recent decades (such as queer theory and queer studies).
I really dont think its a good idea to pretend to be offended for a group of people youre not apart of
Firstly, did you ask me if I was part of the group before you assumed? Secondly, who's pretending?
Also, again there are websites of, within, for, by the community you are attempting to now speak for, yourself, that will inform you better. Please feel free to find them. If cannot, please let me know what country you re

No, I provided two examples from the first years of life. I don't have a list of times I heard the word. And it's not a common word, but it wasn't avoided. People used it. Conversationally, not always insultingly.

You've proven yourself a midwesterner.

I did not know that. Neat.
