Since you are backtracking, there are unlikely to be any enemies. And since there are no enemies, the rest is not a problem.

Unless you're cosplaying Purifier Superior by obliterating Every. Single. Entity. On. The. Floor. then waiting for some time for additional spawns then get rid of these too, there always are chances that someone would find you and your bed. And do fun things.

And sometimes there also spawns a prisoner, whom you can free and get an ally and reputation points.

This is the reason why backtracking is broken.

Not obliterating, but sometimes I used to bind the entire floor, so I could get all their drop and not be harassed later. You can also get the loot from the faction chests without drop in reputation if you take guards far away, but it's risky.

To add on or do more than just saying "+1", I find doing all of these to be the standard I do so that way I can look around the floor for any chests/items I might have missed along with making any trips I might need to take back up as painless as possible if it's due to wanting to remove bondage. As the game Dev themselves have said....you make the game as hard as you want it to via taking advantage of this and that while ignoring other things......this also extending to modding as well.

Even with the pure vanilla game-play, yes it's unbalanced but uh....you don't have to play this or that version as it's still in development quite heavily I'd say since the summit area was only added recently so shelve this game and come back in a few years. As this does appear to follow semantic version style rather than having v1.0.0 be considered complete which is certainly isn't. (So if I was to convert it to that style then I would simply move it all down an decimal point)

Why so many games can't be played just by extracting and running, when "Installation" tells "Extract and Run" ?

Eh for me I've run the game many times after extracting it with 7zip, no installation. I do keep my locale and unicode set to japan to avoid code problems when extracting.

Which OS you use?
Since the game has been coded by diehard frontend developer, of course it can fire few false alarms in antivirus software.
So the game could lose some vital parts during journeys at your hard drive.
Or (more likely) be incompatible with your precious Windows 7.

You get them by consuming mana potions or by drinking them from a shrine(you can bottle it too to drink later), youll also get your mana pool fully refilled in the safe zone between each floor. other than that the only real passive mana regeneration is a unique spell in the trainee class.

Two other options as far as I know:
-sleeping in beds once per floor, also regens half of willpower. Must have low WP to use.
-a few items of the "ancient" variety regen mana as long as you have power. These can be found in an ancient vault. Having them makes mana pretty much renewable if you have the "conjure display stand" spell in the "metal" tree.

I might be stupid, but how to I get my mana back?

Some learn'able skills of Wizard allow storing... if my Memory serves me right, it's called "arcane flow" - and some allow converting that flow into usable mana.
Not spending mana by abusing "reduces mana costs once per X turns by Y% of your maximal mana" is a way more viable option though. Costs a lot of skillpoints to crank it up. This + upcasted fireballs + enough scrolls which allow bound casting is probably one of TWO options to beat the game (read: to reach New Game +) without exploiting/breaking the game too much.

Pretty interesting game, also a decent amount of fun once you get into how it plays, just a shame that you can be locked into a forced restart situation.

I am currently in such a situation as a matter of fact, I got stuck on a conveyor belt and got tied up something fierce and then transported to a place full of these "cyber wardens" and drones, my char is now very tied up (read; can't do anything except walk and even then it is very small steps only) and stuck in a cell only to be taken out from time to time to be slimed up by some turrets just to make escape even more impossible than it already is.

Guess I have learned to stay VERY FAR AWAY from anything that might even RESEMBLE a belt...
