If you play these games for Studio and character customization, its actually pretty decent, 4/5 maybe 5/5 game.

For people like me who just want to play and don't care that much about taking screenshots or animations, this game is pretty average, for several reasons:

    • Basically the same game as Koikatsu Party only with different enviroments and slightly different gameplay loop. No reason to waste disc space or money on two almost identical games if you ask me.
    • It's a dating simulator and a pretty bad one too, dialogues are not just badly written (or not written at all), its just "topic" spam until you get your girls stats at fuckable levels, thats it.
    • Laggy even on modern HW and game world consists of cells and loading screens, which hurts gameplay flow. Pretty bad for a 2021 game.
    • Lack of interactivity, there are some activities here and there, but it gets tedious and boring after a few hours of play.
    • Shiton of customization for females but almost none for males (even with modpack), personally I don't enjoy running around as a bitchboy that looks more feminine than girls on this island and has toothpick sized dick and somehow is supposed to bang every girl on the island. I know its possible to make a normal looking male MC in this game engine because some other games on this site are made in Koikatsu chara studio and their MC looks much better, but as I said before, I'm just a guy who wants to play and have some fun, not to spend hours in mod folder and settings.

Huge improvement to SS enjoyers in Koikatsu Sunshine

There is a huge improvement in the latest BetterRepack Koikatsu Sunshine R11. It's have upgraded stilletto plugin. What it have to do with SS? Well it basically allow you to adjust feet position without changing the rest of the pose. You can do it while playing the game in normal mode. Also for some reason you can now make male legs shorter without having animation glitch in knee area.

Best anime style 3D sanbox game.

I really shocked how people rating this game. Sure, gameplay is lacking, but there is nothing better out there. With amount of mods this game gives you unlimited abilities during character creation.

And you can place your unique character in small living place.

    5/5

Due to the on going support (thank you ScrewThisNoise) the game keeps getting better.
Great animations, ton of customization options, and a ton of assets to work and play with. It can get complex, especially the studio, but that comes with the amount of options that will let you create full animated Hentai movies, if you have the time, patience and skill.
It does however make my pc work hard, probably the mods, but keep that in mind.

This game is 10x better than honey select 2, only loses to graphics, but i don`t care, here we have a lot of more poses, here the possibility to finaly have a anime girl as a Waifu is REAL! XD.

Also the also have many sliders for Character creation, wich means that you can create a waifu anime girl with the body you desire, and that is awesome.

About the sex poses, this game completly satisfies me, because, it`s simple have all my favorite sex positions, and Other curiosity i would like to say is, that WILD LIFE by adptus, also copied some poses of this game, not them directly but fans in their patreon, that asked for it =D.

Another point i would like to say, is about the story mode, that is Much bigger and better then koikatsu 1 previous game, in koikatsu Sunshine we have open maps, were you can select and put any girl you want, a the possibility to use cheats codes to skip conversation and go directly to the sex, that`s is very awesome!!

i wound like to thank SCREW THIS NOISE for doing this amazing job, by working on removing the cersorship, and other modifications such a modding possibility, better penetration and various Other things.

Pretty much the same as the first Koikatsu game, with a different scenery. Instead of running around a school, you are now running around an island resort. The only gameplay mechanic that seemed different to me was separating dialogue choices into categories and treating them like consumables you can 'spend' in conversation. There isn't much reason to play story mode unless you want to hear their voices and random dialogue lines, because plot is nonexistent.

    Great sandbox. Bad game.

Character redactor , as in every modern Illusion's game, is superb. Tons of new sex poses and game mechanics can entertain you for a while, but in the end - game gets boring. Not enough side quests, not much of a main quest too. Game's still laggy af and even with plugins, looks raw. I spent morequality time in chara maker, then it the game itself.

    3/5.

Glad to see a rare good 3d game and it isnt western trash, even better. I'm glad they evolved from the first game, it was meh. Character customization is unmatched.

need more of these always, five stars.

Top tier game. Not sure why some of the reviews here have rated it so lowly considering its an actual 3d game that has voice and animations.

Tons of customization, the cel shaded graphics mean that any bitches from your favorite anime can be added and fucked.

Easily among the top 5 adult games ever made.

If you play these games for the fap its the best.

Like Koikatsu, I feel that this game lacks content and effort, same for its in-game systems such as dating and relationships. It just isn't the same compared to the classic AA games; comparison to AA2 is a limp-wristed joke here, and the mere thought of either as a official successor to it, is a laughable offense that deserves a long time in the time-out corner.

In a more detailed and constructive manner, Koikatsu/Sunshine just doesn't have the vibe of a living environment. What I mean, is that in AA2, your classmates had their own relationships(Friends, etc.), and could pursue romance on their own, and certain personalities changed some of these dynamics gameplay-wise, while Koikatsu changes little, asides dialogue. That's not broaching the fact, that these have become a harem sim in a sense, compared to AA2, which allowed other male characters to exist, and you could have yuri/yaoi exist. Tailored away if needed too. What happened to that?

Moving on, both have characters who can wander the in-game map, though AA2 just did a better job of making it feel alive, to a degree. *Though that's a small opinion. That's manlily due to how horrible it is to have a full class, or more than such with mods on a SSD. It feels...dead compared to AA2. You have to look for life.

There was also the fact, just like you, classmates had to raise their skills, you aren't special. (Leaderboards and Competition). That doesn't exist here.

Sure, Koikatsu may have a modern engine, a detailed creation system compared to AA2, and looks better(Well if you don't count the modded version of AA2) graphically, but gameplay just falls flat in many areas that are crucial to these kind of games. I'm saying so in dating, relationships, and events, so to speak. What makes it feel alive.

I find it hard to recommend asides for its character creation system(Studio included), modernity, and ease of use. At the end, I do not consider this AA2's successor, same for Sunshine.

Its Koikatsu, what else do you need to be told about it? If you've played one Koikatsu or Illusion game then you've played them all, just different settings. As per usual this is basically just another one of their games that'll be improved immensely by the community modding the absolute fuck out of it because the base game is severely lacking in comparison and they know it. After all why do the work yourself when you know the fans are gonna do it for you. All of their games are a solid 2.5 that has the potential for a 5 for experience if you mod it specifically with your own personal tastes.

Another recycled garbage from illussion, same animations you love (or hate), same bad graphics, same lack of interactivity and innovation, powered by the same models you saw in their previous game, backed by the same character customization that allows you to make those generic looking anime girls, along come the same types of "personalities" so get ready for some recycled, scripted responses worthy of a 20 year old chat bot, did I mention the game is boring as hell? Honestly I don't understand how this game could have such high rating, all illusion games since certain 2 highly rated games of theirs are all the same and all are boring 1 star worthy recycled garbage.

Serisouly don't bother downloading it or supporting the dev, there is nothing interesting in it if you played any of their previous games, NOTHING and that's coming from someone who will download a 15gb game just to see if you can actually put on a "broken condom" (this game can't even do it properly, there is no accidental creampie, you don't even see any difference between regualr one and broken one, girls never get angry at you for using one, it's so vanilla it hurts)

Try to be adequate, so let's score 0 to 5 - gameplay, graphics, plot, sound, and considering it porn game, need to compare sex scene - customization, interactivity, manipulation, animation, physics.

    gameplay / plot - 3
    sound - 3
    graphics - 4
animation / physics - 2 (no physic at all)
    interactivity / manipulation / customization - 3

    3+3+4+2+3/5=
    Total score is 3

Koikatsu beats Koikatsu Sunshine, big time.

First of all the good elements of the game:
    - New zones and personalities
    - 3 different starting locations (like x classrooms, but still good)
    - A new cute guide
    - Massage session
    - The "after", that is girl will stay by your side during the night instead of leaving a random letter/post-it on the table. I found it cute. EDIT: just found out you've the same extra-scenes using Koikatsu mods(Kplug).

And now the bad part, or at least why this game compared to the previous one hasn't got my interest for more than a day:
    - Grind. What the actual fuck. You've to grind and look around for specific topics, to combine them in order to get the rarest ones and the price is also huge, because for getting 30 points for a single item you've to select different actions. And that's brutal, I mean after 2 hours you barely see the light and without the right choices/topics your relationship with a girl won't improve or very slowly.
    - Sex poses and mods. We've reached the R6, but some poses don't work as intended. For example the previous POV mod was way better, same for better penetration and fluids.
    - it's too vanilla. I enjoy vanilla, but here you basically have only that and on the long way it's boring.
    - Love hotel/suite/whatever it is. You've to pay, that is to grind again points, in order to get a night at the "suite" of the hotel. In the previous game you just have to improve your relationship and later to select a love hotel, lunapark, yourplace.

I think Illusion made a huge step back with this one. The best option was to include the island as dlc, because many elements haven't changed and still the game runs slower compared to the original Koikatsu.

Give it a try, but I doubt it'll keep you busy on the long way.

I will spend 3 hours in this game just editing a character, and by the time I'm done I don't even wanna jack off anymore. But that's true of most Illusion games, and why they're some of the best ever. The character art is beautiful, and it's pretty unique in its huge selection of voices and personality types. Games with art from Koikatsu have pretty much become a whole genre of game in their own right, and the 'character types' included in this base game provide a solid groundwork for how to write diverse characters into whatever stories you can craft within your own mind. I think that this 'sunshine' sequel is better than the original Koikatsu, despite not having as many mods. The setting is more variable and appropriate for hooking up with random girls, and the side-quest of 'finding topics of discussion' actually makes this game KIND OF 'playable' as a dating sim, and not just as a character builder. As a player, you can kind of impose your own rulesets (like needing the appropriate topics to advance affection) to make the world a little bit more of a sandbox adventure... That being said, it's still really thin in terms of 'adventure' content. Its biggest strength is definitely in its character builder and art design. I personally think it has the most appealing art style of any Illusion game, and given that it has one of the best character builders and posing engines of all time, it is a versatile and useful tool for artists, storytellers, and coomers alike. My only gripe is that after playing AA2, I really wish that Illusion would focus on gameplay aspects a little more. If only they paired that brilliant character creation software with more gameplay... but now and I'm just repeating myself, and still, this has a lot to offer.

Wow people were not exaggerating when they said this game is shit. Finally picked it up and its somehow worse than OG Koikatsu.

Less communication options tied down to a limited resource you have to pick up or randomly get from interactions, less time to raise affection, less ways to raise affection in general. Sex positions locked behind EXP for individual characters instead of just needing to unlock it once. It looks the same, if not worse in some aspects, than the original. The creator is the exact same so everything you make in this, you can make in OG.

Initial load times are still atrocious even on an SSD. There are still micro-stutters when a character loads into the map.

Even though I'm pretty sure no one bothered with the NPC stories past the first time they played the original, they're completely gone here. You have 1 NPC, an admittedly really cute girl, that you interact with pretty much the same way you do any other character. No real storyline, not a big deal but still kind of disappointing.

Not necessarily a point against it but something to keep in mind is that a lot of the mods that OG has, and that are either pretty essential or just nice to have, have not been ported to this yet.

Unless you're morbidly curious and have a lot of time to spare, avoid this game. Go play the original or try some of the older Illusion games if you haven't and you're tired of OG Koikatsu.

    - Small maps
    - Good customization
    - Good graphics (no uncanny valley)
    - Lacking gameplay

Talk to girls, roam around the island looking for 'conversation topics'. Use them to increase relationship faster. Kinda boring.

Decided to make this review after roughly 5 hours of gameplay + 3 hours in character maker. And well...

It isn't a bad game, it's just a very shallow experience. It feels like a DLC add-on to the first Koikatsu rather than a standalone game. While Illusion has implemented a few more things for you to do rather than simply talk to the girls, there still isn't significant effort put into the dating mechanics or the act of trying to woo a girl in and of itself. Unlike the first Koikatsu, you will no longer deduct relationship points by giving wrong answers, but instead, have the bar raised very slowly instead. In other words, no real penalty, just slow progress. Aside from that, you gain points that can be used to purchase a few things, but there isn't anything noteworthy with that system either. Now, that isn't a bad thing in my eyes, since the terrible MTL English makes it very difficult to understand what the H - E double hockey sticks anyone is talking about in-game. But it also means that there isn't much to do beyond the new gift-giving system, which also does not play a large part, since you can max a girl's relationship with you without EVER using that feature. TLDR, same shit, different day, with slight improvements in terms of content.

The in-game models and character maker are still as good as before, but there isn't anything new aside from modders providing more custom-made costumes. I'm still waiting for Illusion to implement the 3D collision and penetration system already readily available in a dozen other Japanese porn games, but it seems that is not the case once more. If you're looking for a good example of what I'm talking about, go play Insult Order, which is also readily available here in f95zone.

Music is Okay. Nothing wrong, nothing exceptional, it's just perfectly meh.

Sex scenes are... slightly improved in terms of variety, but is once more nothing special or particularly fun. I keep wondering what's so difficult for any Adult-game developer to find some examples of the Kama-sutra and get some inspiration from there? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE me some good ol' vanilla sex, but if your game offers 50+ sex variations and ALL of them are vanilla, that's just boring. A good example of creative fucking, would be SIMS 4 with the WickedWhims mod. There are tons of unique animations there with far better variety and way more interaction with the surrounding environment and props. Illusion really needs to start learning from them.

Overall, it isn't a bad game, it just feels like a boring, lacklustre entry. I kid you not when I say that the most fun I have in this game is creating the character, and not playing it. The only reason I even HAVE to play is to unlock all the sex scenes through progression so that the Free-H event in the EXTRAS can be used for my future fapping endeavors.

literally same game this shouldnt be a new game not even a dlc there is a few new thing like oiling girl thats it even the sex scenes are undeveloped
go play koikatsu its one of the same and koikatsu its been improved with the mods a lot

Honestly, this game is decent, but I think it's practically like a DLC for the base Koikatsu. ALmost same mechanics with the only difference being setup (island theme) and the topic system. Besides it's practically Koikatsu at its core.

I have been playing for around 4 hours with no bugs and it lacks a lot of things that AA2 did well.

There are no real interactions between the NPCs, when you go Hmode with a character everyone in the area disappears, and once the event ends they reappear and run away (contrary to AA2 where they could interact with you, either looking or stopping you).

There are no consequences of dating multiple NPCs, and even if you did something with one in front of the other, they really do nothing.

The different personalities mean little as you can spam any talk and it will gradually work towards the attractions %. No matter what I try, I can’t make the attraction % decrease, so no real challenge.

Until now no NPC has initiated an interaction with the MC, the closest one is one that confessed, but I had to already be talking with it to happen.

Now about looks, the improvements are negligible, while the clipping of clothes is still there. If it was on a custom character with custom clothing I would give it a pass, but having clipping issues with a premade character with the clothing that was chosen by the developers, that is a horrible level of Quality.

Hell, the Mc doesnt even have fluid movements with the arrow keys, it just jumps from one direction to the other as if skiping frames. The new positions in game does not even have a complete animation, as grabbing any part of the NPC while in position makes the MC invisible, and on the kiss interaction the NPC kisses the air while the MC just looks blankly into space, far from her face.

I can’t believe that Illusion can’t make a game that has at the very least the same quality of interactions as AA2 yet (not really counting Shoujo Ai as it has a diferent kind of gameplay), a game from 2014.

In my opinion, while Koikatsu (as a game, not a studio) was mediocre, this is even worst considering the little improvements there are in it.

All this is just my opinion after playing most Illusion, and other similar company games. Also, I would give the game a 2.5 of 5, but I gave it a 2, as I cant give it .5 ratings.
