Unity - Completed - Koikatu! [Repack RX20] [Illusion]

Kind of the successor to Artificial Academy 2 it has a good amount of improvement, still the same exact system, you have a character creator, a sex scene system, and an uninteresting dating sim system.

Still with community content there is fair amount of fun to be had, recommended !

Amazing game and another fantastic illusion game and a great way to make your waifus or even new waifus for all kinds of fun. Combine that with the character maker and studio and it looks like it will be a fun time.

Really not much to say just a great game for anime fans.

The character creator is pretty robust and if there's a certain character you want but just can't get right, there are various databases online with character cards. Download and plug them into the right folder and you've got your favorite waifu in the game. There may be some funky performance issues at first, but if you're patient with it, then you've got a pretty great game on your hands.

Super Secret Comparison Review

This is a puzzling game. It's hard to review it without mentioning that it’s almost an exact clone of anther Illusion game (I’m not allowed to name names, but I will say it rhymes with 'Smartificail Anatomy 2'… Henceforth referred to as BOB).

Were BOB has a neat simulator like aspect, where you make a bunch of characters and populate the school with them, this game is more like a harem/sim-date simulator. The NPCs will interact with one another, but much less than in BOB.

This game has better models and polygon count than BOB, but because of the increases in character sliders range, BOB has better alignment in the H scenes. Be prepared for a lot of clipping of body parts in this game. You can customize the characters ‘hitboxes’ in the editor, but I feel like that’s a time trap. It’s more efficient to just adjust to camera to hide any clipping. The framerate and loading times are shitty.

Pro tip; don’t load more than ~12 girls in one classroom. Otherwise, the framerate plummets.


TLDR standalone review

Hook: It’s another good-looking Illusion game with Anime style graphics.

Best: Holy Crap, that’s a pretty good character maker. Very usefully for making all your wAiFuS and posing them in the studio for screenshots. Several Boorus exist where you can DL popular girls from the internet (Naruto, Kantai, Disney, cartoon network, etc).

Meh: The H scenes are vanilla and limited in variety. Some voices are decent, some are like banshee wails.

Worst: The game is very boring and very poorly optimized.

Okay, I've been using this program for several months now and I finally got around to trying out the game itself last night. What everyone has said below is true, lag and all. However with the additional clothing and pregnancy mod along with my own custom waifus, I did enjoy trying to seduce and fuck them...for awhile.

The game does get repetitive and there is no story. I can think of dozens of ways to improve the gameplay mechanics and make it story driven and that gets to the reason I gave this five stars.

I'm coming at this review from the point of view of an aspiring game developer. Even with my currently feeble coding skills, I'm able to use this modded program in connection with Ren'py to make some really hot VN's.

One can make a waifu of any shape and size and the customization options are endless. Illusion again dropped the ball on customizing the male MC, but there are workarounds for that.

The real heart of this game from a game developer's point of view is the CharaStudio. You can use this to create your own environments and pose your waifus in various ways using basically the same exact studio that is provided in Honey Select. It also provides many premade animations, though it takes patience and time to incorporate them into a version that can used in Ren'py.

Best of all, with this modded version your screenshots and videos are totally free of corporate logos and menu buttons that won't go away.

So if you want to make the anime game of your dreams, this program gives you all the tools you need. Fuck the lame game included...I can do better! ...if I can get the resolve to teach myself how to fucking code...

wished this game was not discontinued. never seen a game with so many options such as this one. customization and what not. amazing work! hope it gets picked up again as i can see a lot of things you could do to expand the already huge free roaming world of kotaiku.

framerate below zero. lags , lags and random crash when it accept to not lag.

Standard Illusion game, though I can see them pulling the plug on this sooner or later. The customization in this game is pretty damn good, as you can achieve some very accurate waifus with mods, and the mods themselves enrich the game with what it was lacking - like POV mods and all that jazz.

I wish the game had more variable poses though, like Custom Maid at least had some niches and spicier things to add at times, this one's kinda playing it safe and a lot of poses you'd expect to see aren't there. In general, they could've done a loooooot more with the school setting, as currently it's just a walking simulator and visual novel-esque. Not much to do other than bang waifus, but it does a damn good job at banging 'em- so I can't complain, squeezed my hog.

But with aforementioned reasons this game for now could only be a short-term fun unless they decide to update it more and not just the CharaStudio, which is pretty good - seen what my jap boys on twitter have done with it and it's all good fun if you take the time to invest into creating your own scenes. (I had to make some myself to fill in the void of the lack of poses)

As it often is with these games, they usually do something particularly really good and everything else is left half-baked, so that's kinda what this game is. ( The world feels extremely empty and fucking dead, the entire school-grounds are just a walking plane of living onaholes to screw. ) If you play it just for banging the waifus, you won't find many games that can compete with it ( please add more content ) but other than that there's not much else left to offer, so I'd give it a solid 4, even if in my mind it's a 3 - I'm feeling generous, had some good continuous nutting streaks. I could list all the things you can do in this game, but honestly, it's nothing worth mentioning much and should be left up to you to judge.

Quick review:

It's nice that this game puts you in the driver's seat as a male protagonist. This is an illusion game, which means good-looking girls, lots of customization options and decently well-animated sex scenes, but pretty weak gameplay and not much control over the thrusting. Not the biggest fan of Koikatu -- it was nice for a couple hours but I got tired pretty fast. I'm not sure if mods can salvage the game, though.
* The art style is a little bit saccharine, even by anime standards.
* Options for revealing clothing are a little poor IMO
* Koikatu has a decent amount of grind to it (even with cheats) to progress through the game: walk around, grind your stats, grind the girls down with talk, grind on the girls to get their H meters up...
* Auto-generated/stock characters are often kind of ugly TBH
* The game lags on powerful hardware
* There is almost no real gameplay
* The school feels so empty
* There's a sharp disconnect between the sex and the game. You can't just demand sex from a girl in the middle of the school and do it in front of people: the entire world basically clears away while the sex scenes load in. This also makes the school feel more empty.

So, yeah. It's a competent illusion game but it just don't feel that great to play. Illusion will always be on my radar, but they've done better work.

Also, the rape tag is kind of an exaggeration. Although there's some blackmail type stuff and some mods, this is a game where girls fall for you pretty much instantly and it's very vanilla harem territory.

Need more games like this. It's frustrating, that most of other 3D games with good graphic are mainly focused on H-scene (I have nothing against H-scene itself, it's absolutely necessary in such game genre), but without other game-play aspects, when H-scene is the largest part of the game it's very boring for me to play such game. This game allows to be a school student and kind of reminds me AA/AA2, so it's much more interesting than other games in this category.

However, this game looks a bit raw and needs a lot of improvements, in my opinion. I wish there were more school-life game-play elements, smarter AI, H-scenes with multiple girls, some lewd mini games, ability to take photos of girls using smartphone's camera, chatting with girls via SMS/ Internet messengers/sexting and so on....

Also, I don't like idea of inability to quit first H scene without vaginal penetration, thankfully there is a mod that allows to quit first H-scene leaving the girl a virgin. https://github.com/RenchiPL/KoikatuCheatTools/releases

Also, game is poorly optimized and may lag on powerful machine with 1080 GTX and 16 GB of RAM, good thing this lag goes away eventually, just need to wait 15-20 seconds.

Koikatsu Review

The ever prominent Illusion Grief Cycle continues...

At first, I was quite excited for this title, since it was a return to the more "anime" aesthetic that was last seen in Secrossphere (or Artificial Academy 2 for most), but yet again, it takes a hit in the one place that I expected yet again... The gameplay.

Graphics-wise, the game is good. Given the options at hand, you can make most anime females you can cook up (or just borrow other people's posted premade cards), though once again the male options are pretty much next to none.

Sounds, well, they get the job done, nothing to get too uppity about.

Gameplay though, it feels like a step-up from AA2 and yet it feels a bit lacking somehow. Granted, there's a helluva lot more you can do here compared to AA2 but the positions you can do them in isn't exactly all that varied. Maybe I've just been spoiled rotten by MICONISOMI and KISS but I get the feeling that Illusion kinda lost their magic for me.

Still gets a 3/5 outta me. It's just an average game, but sadly, I expected more from Illusion of all companies XD

:-/ C'mon this just feels empty, AG3 had a great H system which wasn't a simple click & cum, BIKO series had some of the best "stalk & force" modes, AA2 at least had a pregnancy scare, Schoolmate had some stats and minor RPG char development...

This one feels great with the graphics and being able to roam around the school but that and a few poses is all you can do, literally an empty world, instead of adding what was great from previous series they just launched and empty "idol" game that you have to populate with 30 girls just walking around so it feels it's something...

This is a 5/10 on a good day.
