Issues
Good
- Taking too much damage damages the character’s clothing on screen
- Receive status effects that alter the character on the UI. “Aroused” changes the character’s facial expression
- The gallery lets you view defeat illustrations without having to read all the scenario text. Just look at the image and its various stages. Ability to zoom in, move it around the screen.
- The gallery lets you view the character with all possible permutations. Change facial expression, outfits, tentacles, etc.
- The gallery is fully unlocked from the start in the menu
- Internal x-ray view can be seen at all times
- Good character art
- Selecting to use a Charged Ammo item causes the character’s gun to glow
- The character shown in the main menu cycles through different variations when you leave and return to the main menu
- Achievements to unlock, which grant game bonuses
- The revealed traps in the grid don’t automatically affect you unless you choose to target them. This means you decide when to lose closing, get tattooed, become aroused, etc.
- There’s a button in the menu to unlock all the gallery, all achievements, and complete all levels
Issues
- Game starts Japanese instead of providing a language select. You have to randomly click menu buttons to find the language select.
- Game starts fullscreen, but low resolution
- The first level tutorial has screenshots with explanatory text. The explanatory text is translated, but the text in the screenshots isn’t
- Spelling mistakes
- Many icons in the UI that don’t have a tooltip when moused over
- Red down arrow: # unrevealed enemies remaining / total enemies
- Blue briefcase: # unrevealed items remaining / total items
- Orange crate: # unrevealed locked crates / total crates
- When a level starts, a popup shows the mission name and goal. The window doesn’t last on screen long enough to read it.
- Starting level 1 always brings up the tutorial, even if you’ve seen it before
- Can’t drag an item on the field on top of an item you’re holding to swap them
- The Skill Setting is a confusing menu. What do the stars in the top left mean? Does 3/4 mean I’ve spent 3 of 4 skill points?
- When an effect is triggered like an enemy dying and them causing damage to anything nearby, all those effects happen very fast and it’s hard to keep up with everything that happened
- Unclear what “upgrade cap” means on items. An “upgrade cap 9” item can’t be upgraded more than once?
- The tile art for the area 2 levels makes the light which signifies it can be clicked very small and hard to see at a glance
- The Skill menu doesn’t let you mouse over and inspect skills that you don’t have access to yet
- The description for enemies in the gallery runs out of space to display text and there’s no way to read it all
