Depraved Awakening by PhillyGames - Reviewed at Version 1.0

Story - We have a nice little murder/mystery/conspiracy plot, with a sprinkling of over-the-top sex. To me, it is nothing amazing by any stretch of the imagination. While the game does an okay job of keeping the mystery there and therefore keeping you somewhat engaged, I found when it came to the characters themselves well we shall get to that. Pacing is somewhat issue here, with certain parts of the narrative it moves too fast, while at other times it's a bit slow resulting in a very unbalanced game.

Renders - Most of the characters are rendered in a way that is easy on the eye, though given the age of the game. I can't deny that at times they may feel dated and there are better out there today. I'd say that most if not all characters have a sense of realism about them which helps majorly. There are some issues with environments, but nothing too major and things we can put down to inexperience. I laughed for example when the MC's door had the default name for him etched on it, despite me naming him something different. The lighting in the environments can be an issue at times.... the story can call for scenes to be a little dark, but sometimes our dev gets a bit too close and sometimes well past it. The animations are okayish, but they are not mind-glowingly extraordinary. Most are actually forgettable.

Characters - There are a fair few and overall most serve some service to the plot. The LI all have some sort of background and you can delve into that if you so pursue that particular love interest. It's nice and adds a bit of depth here and there, but it's not enough. Not enough time is actually spent with the characters in a meaningful way, 9/10 if you are with a character you are fucking them, mostly in a way that makes the MC look like a complete and utter arsehole. Barring only a few moments in the games, most characters seem a bit emotionless. As the games go on and most just seem like a person for MC to park his cock in, it's hard to get invested in them.

Overall - This is by no means a bad game, but it is definitely not as good as it could be. The game seems to be working to the overall mystery plot of the game and dictating the characters around that, rather than having the characters evolve and the story evolve around them. As such in the later half of the game, when shit begins to hit the fan, my appreciation of the game lessened. It's not helped by the actual character dialogue, which at time seem like they are pulled from some fan fiction of some sort.

I think overall it is at its base a generic porn game, the overall narrative and character could do with a bit of work. I do understand this was PillyGames first entry into the AVN market so I am willing to give him somewhat of a passing grade here. but it does rely too heavily and forces you into sex scenes for the sake of it. They do carry this game hard. It is unfortunately a game that suffers from inexperience and often shows. But for a first attempt, its better than most.

Haha yes this a bimbo dream got set aside when BaDik released, i thought I'd clean up before starting on Denvers
I'll do the Denvers update next - I seem to be taking forever to get through JOHN, although I'm enjoying it.

Our Red String by Eva Kiss - Reviewed at Version 13.3.2

Story - At the base of it we have a simple story about two characters from different walks of life who are in the right place at the right time. What comes next is actually hard to explain, mainly because the choices that Eva Kiss gives us here are pretty much second to none and the way the game unfolds is pretty much down to the players themselves. While the writing is not perfect it is enough to continue to be compelling, and the choices and consequences thereafter are equally compelling. That being said there is a fair bit of text in this game, it does lean more towards the tell-not-show camp and in the early stages of the game, it can feel mundane. It does get better.

Art - I get that these 2D-style games can be very offputting to some people, would this game be better using 3D DAZ models? Hard to say, but ultimately the art here is not the selling point of the game... For the most part, you will be looking at characters in the same poses as the story continues, there are small variations here and there, done to show the emotions of the characters. They are well drawn though and no two characters look the same. The game art does shine in the lewds though, while there are no animations in the typical sense, the images presented are enough to portray really hot scenes.

Characters - Thanks to the nature of the game, we can actually shape the personalities of our two MC's - The different viewpoints of these really help with the story, struggles and success between them. The supporting characters do feel very tropey, like they were lifted from a comedy TV show, but they do all serve a purpose, some of the purposes do not become apparent later in the narrative. I would argue that every character here is unique, each with there own brilliance and own flaws. They really help tie the game together.

Overall - I'll admit while generally, I do try 2D games, I usually do not hold much hope for them. This game though, was an actual surprise for me, while I have now been following it for some time. It continues to impress. I find this to be a graciously designed game, while it is not without faults, they are few and far between.

Visuals aside, there is something for everybody here - the choices you get and the branches thereafter will lead you to a romantic playthrough, and a cheating playthrough among others - there is a lot of content here giving a real replayability factor. The writing may be off-putting for some but it does get better as the chapters go on.

If you can get past the 2D art, this is definitely one to try. It's a nice little ride that will let you delve into some moral dilemmas the produce a nice thoughtful character driven story.

Solid 9/10

Ms. Denvers by Pop Toc - Reviewed at Version 0.10 Part 1

Story - At its base, we have the typical "Single Mum" style story. Our Dev is going for something here, but I am not quite sure what it is. While the story is not exactly boring, the pace is all over the place. Some things progress faster than others and some things don't even make sense considering what happened in a previous scene. We are definitely character-building and setting the stage for now...

Renders - I would give most if not all the renders a passing grade. The game is by no means bad looking and every character is nice and pleasing to the eye. All of the characters introduced so far have a sense of realism about them, though a friend did comment to me on our MC's changing bust, I will admit it was not something I first noticed (I thought at times it looked like she got a Bum Lift) on replays it did stand out to me. So far we have seen a nice selection of environments and where needed they are filled, helping this world to be filled and lived in. I didn't really see any noticeable lighting issues, but I won't say there are not any of the renders that could be improved

Character - Ms. Denvers herself and the supporting characters are definitely carrying this game. While it's not so much a corruption-based game but more a "what desires should I give in to" kind of game, everything seems to work. The FMC is a divorcee, struggling with her middle age and loneliness. Her growth so far comes in the choices she makes which push her towards a certain LI. That is not to say there is nothing that comes from the LIs, they are all individual and do bring some sort of corruption to the game, but I do question if some are just there for the sake of it.

Overall - So far I am neither impressed or disappointed with this game. I'd say for now it lacks direction, but I don't think that's true... rather it is stuck on one direction that is Character/World building and its seriously affects the pace. It's not the usual big bag of nothingness you sometimes get, but when you look at it there is nothing really there yet.

The potential this game has is big I think, but it needs a lot more to it, it definitely needs a few more updates to come into its own for now though, Id say the game is worth a try, just don't go in expecting anything ground breaking.

New Coral City by HoneyGames - Reviewed at Season 2 0.5

Story - A confusing game this, Season 1 of this game is actually the Unity game Follower as a result coming into this you may feel a bit lost - it does provide a nice recap, but it is not enough to set the scene and give the full content. Without playing the first, you are just thrown into a world and expected to pick up the pieces after shit has hit the fan. The overall writing is not good either, I get the feeling the Dev is trying to push a story about relationships, though often these relationships seem forced and strained and often relying on information you don't have if you passed on the first game.

Renders - The renders are poor to average at best. Often times they look grainy and are carrying a bit of noise. There are times when there seems to be some genuine effort put in with some of them and they really do shine. The women of the game are a mixed bag, some look really attractive, while others there's something not quite right with them. However, they all have a bit of individuality about them. The environments are questionable.... considering this is supposed to be a city, we don't really venture to many places, you'll find yourself either in your house, at work, at a beach or in a bar. Where needed the locations are full, but they are usually full of the same people, leading to a case of it feeling samey

Character - There are a lot of characters in this game - a few seem to have a bit of crossover with their personalities, but for the most part they are all individuals but no one really stood out to me as being interesting. There is still a problem there are a lot of characters here with already-established personalities that don't really get built on. The choice-based system designed to give these characters personalities does not work either as most of the choices just result in shallowness and emptiness

Overall - I am unsure to if a playthrough of the following would change my view on this game at all. At a guess, I would say no as there seems to be more issues than just a simple case of feeling lost in this world... However I would say that was my biggest issue, I think even with fresh characters and the world the main problem would still persist.

This game is simply not as good as it thinks it is. It has questionable mechanics that seem pointless, like why add a monetary system if you're not going to give any way outside of the story to increase funds, the character overload specifically characters from the first game makes it very closed off to players. The dialogue at times feels forced, wooden and most of the time boring. Overall, I feel any playthrough of this would feel torturous

Poor 3/10

Westview Academy by Tako Yuh - Reviewed at Version 0.6.4

Story - A college game that doesn't try to break from the usual topes here... we have at its core a former high school basketball player who, for reasons is out of the game getting a fresh start at university. I would say it is inspired by a lot of the other college games out there and this is evident by how all over the place the narrative is - There is a lot of stuff that gets thrown at you and at some pace. I did come out of it feeling a little confused. Other than the jarring pacing issues, I can't fault the writing, where needed the dev is able to input light-hearted humour or a bit of intense drama - overall it's not a complicated narrative, it's just executed wrong.

Renders - I would say the highlight of the game, most if not all models look absolutely on point and the girls look hot. There are no over-the-top breasts and everything is in proportion, which has resulted in few of the "clothing warping to tits" issues most big-breasted models. The environments are varied and have been given great detail helping the world feel immersive. Most of them a lighted well, though there were some that might have been a tad too dark, I believe this was just due to the nature of the scene. The animations are great, I did not notice any jerkiness and jankiness to them and found them to flow in a fluid way.

Characters - Shockingly for a porn game, the characters in this game for the most part behave like normal human beings. That is to say, most of the LIs are not going to jump on the MCs cock at the first instance. There's growth between all parties as you hang out and get to know everybody. Overall we have a wide variety of characters available to us all with their own individual personalities, though given the earlier mention of the plot pacing issue, you do jump about here and there with each of them.

Overall - In an already saturated market, I don't think Westview is bringing anything new to the table, while it is indeed a very pretty game, the pacing issues really damage it. There were no less than 3 times I was ready to bow out before chapter 2 - It is sort of finding itself now in the later chapters, but I still get the feeling it doesn't quite know the story it wants to tell - which is a shame cause thanks to the choices there is quite a lot of content here to unpack. Once it finds itself I might feel different about it, but we might be too far gone now.

March In View

So I didn’t think I played that many games in March, but when it came to writing this, I realised I actually got through a fair amount. I think this was down to a slow start to the month compared to others. There didn’t seem to be that many games dropping. I put this down to the fact there was a big release and games not wanting to release around the same time to avoid being lost. But thats just guesswork.

Regardless of said big release, there were still some good games found, A nice return to some games and I managed to play 15 new releases and 22 updates, averaging about 1.2 games a day. In fact, for the first time since I started this month-by-month thing, I actually had games left in the “to play” folder. I’ll hopefully get back around to them the next time they come around.

So let's journey through what f95 brought me in March.

New Games

Bonds Between
- It's hard to say if this game is going to be for me or not. Overall the renders are fantastic, but as to what the actual premise is I couldn't tell you, we seem to be setting up a lot of different stories here. It is honestly difficult to judge a 1 chapter new game, especially when they are this short. But if the story quality is as good as the render quality we have already got, this is really one to watch.

Blacked Tiffany - This could be great, but it also could be equally ridiculous. So far the renders are below average, and the writing is even worse. I can't tell if it's setting up a cuckold story, a cheating story or a swinging story. But I am interested at least. It's never going to be top 10 material, but it could be a nice little pallet cleanser.

Family Secrets - It seems we have a problem with new games dropping and ultimately showing us nothing. Overall this game can be finished in about 8 minutes and so far it only details the main character with poorly written thought and backstory while he was sat on a plane, then a short introduction of characters. As debuts go, it was poor.

Altered Bloodlines – This one has a bit of meat to it and certainly lasts longer than the 8 minutes I have already talked about. We have some good renders, but there are times the art seems iffy, For example, there is one shot in the only lewd with weird-looking flat boobs – the premise is pretty much laid down to us here, not directly, but we get enough to know where it's going. It is one to watch.

Paradise City - So here we have Loki and his wife attending a holiday with his stepbrother. But in a shocking twist, it turns out that his brother tricked him and it's a sex island. You would think that shit would come up in research, which our MC actually did! - while this is actually one of the longer debut games I’ve played. The issue we have here is this NTR/Hotwife premise is no longer new, there’s loads of these kinds of games and while it's nice its not AI and has what could be considered a decent idea. The landing is missed. The pacing of this game is far too fast.

A Perfect Couple – Well colour me shocked, we have an NTR/NTS phone text style game that is not AI generated. It is in a very similar vein to Stay Online, the MC has to leave the country, we have a best friend who corrupts our FMC and so the cheating hot wifing etc begins. We do seem to be getting a little more images here than we did in stay online, but ulitmately its more of the same and this will have to do something fast to stand apart.

Our NTS story - Quite a sex filled opening chapter seems our MC's already have an open relationship. Its nice it gives you he option where to go, be it NTS or cheating on both sides of the coin. Its an intersting way to do it rather than have the first chapter do the build up. The AI art is poor though. , The hair keeps changing colours and occasional styles the clothing changes at a few times. No six fingers though which is always a plus.

Jazzy Times. An AI game that isn't interested in NTR, colour me shocked. Essentially just a little demo, a nice introduction of characters, and nothing too major happens. The art seems consistent, but it's not as art-heavy as some other AI games. you spend a lot of time looking at backgrounds. Looking at the future tags. I don't think this is one I'll continue.

No Big Deal - One of the better debuts I've seen, often we find that new entries are short and showcase nothing. Here we have a somewhat meaty first release, with a couple of lewds, setting up the premise. I won't lie and say it's perfect, there are some points where the dialogue feels wooden, sometimes forced and the renders aren't exactly mind-blowing either. Honestly hard to tell if this is going to go anywhere, but I am interested in playing the next part at least

Sorority secrets – This was a punt of a download really, the fact that it was a sandbox was really putting me off. But well there are some games with sandbox elements that arent that bad so a chance was taken. But no, the premise of this game is set really fast. You have your days split into mornings, afternoons and evenings, you have money and a world map to explore. I could tell it was going to be grindy as soon as I was invited to a club with a cover charge of $200 and only having $50. The dev seems very overly keen on giving every character tattoos of some sort. Bowed out of this one rather early.

Rediscovering Maria is a strange one, yeah there's not enough content there, but I'm willing to bet the timid frigid girl wearing the cross is going to become an over-sexualised nymph. There was a choice for a gym so there is a chance of body transformation there, especially given our FMC is unhappy with her image. There was a choice about excitement over the thought of someone else, so it might be mutual cucking. Either way it's odds on that it's a TACOS clone both in content and quality.

Beneath the Surface – The renders most of the time feel flat and there is a real shading issue in most if not all of the scenes - There is nothing really here to make a judgement, a real slow burn of a game. Could be one to watch, couldn't say yet, but based on the plans I am not too excited.

Corrupted by Love – A lot of errors in the first moment of this game, specifically with the text message system, characters' name being default in them and repeating messages. The AI art is a little incosistant but it's nothing too major. Actually a good attempt, but nothing we have not seen before.

City of Sin– One of those new games that shows nothing, renders seem at least presentable, there are a few typos here and there, but nothing too bad. Could be interesting, there's just nothing to tell me either way.

Danger BLUE – A nice little introduction to the game, gives a little mystery and introduces us to two potential LI’s and gives us a bit of backstory and history with a 3rd. For a debut this is really not bad, the dialogue could do with a bit of work. I am willing to give this a few updates to see if it finds itself

Updates

University of Problems
- Though technically F95 says this was updated in February it did actually update UK time in March. So it just made the cut. A game that until the end of December was in my top 10, but found itself dropping out. I've finally reviewed the game here and some of the reasons for the drop are actually mentioned and talked about. I am happy to see we are getting a bit of course correction, or at least the pieces are now falling into play to allow the story to move on. It's not quite up there to be back in the top 10, but if things go the way I hope they are, it might make its way back

Mila AI – This was a game that until my review dropped was actually in the watchlist, but its actually come alomng a lot since it first found its way there. As AI games actually go, this is one I find impressive.

Breaking Ties - The Synopsis and Previews gave this game such promise, Unfortunately, it fails to deliver on anything! The writing is sloppy, bordering on even stupid. It's not engaging at all. Given we know the plot straight out of the gate nothing is really surprising, It's a nice and different attempt on what is already a saturated market. Unfortunately, it's not landed by any means.

My Bimbo Dreams - I came to this one not really expecting much but actually was pleasantly surprised. You can read my thoughts here. I am in no rush to get back to it, but I'll certainly pick up the updates as and when I have time.

Being A Dik – Ahhhh the big one. This is the game I alluded to in the introduction. I actually spent a good deal of time with this update. A little over 6 days. It's quite impressive and still revealing secrets to me now. This is one that's in my top 10 and will probably be there for a while. I reviewed it here

Serenity Meadows - Here we have a typical incest cough sorry typical Landlady game. The writing is all over the place to be fair. desperate need of a proofreader. There is so far nothing interesting developing in terms of the story The renders are not the best, they feel somewhat dated, though it seems to be the dev's first game so I shall give him a pass. Even though they look dated there are some decent-looking characters. MC however looks stupid. overall a less-than-perfect entry into a genre that is already over-saturated with better quality games. Will need several updates before getting back to this

Harmony Haven - A little update to the game. I can't really add to what I said here.… Its still one to watch and I am still looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Stay Online – So it's looking like this one will be a regular as we seem to be getting updates every month and to be honest I don’t mind that. It's not overly taxing and breaks up big story-driven games quite nicely. This update did not put me off in any way, though I have nothing really to add from what I said here

Just Married - Played this back when it was just a demo last month - it was very short and the only thing I mentioned was renders border on average to okay and that's a good thing because you'll find yourself staring at the same image as text scrolls. For this to become something, it needs a lot of work. This update was a pleasant surprise. While the renders still border on average to above average there are a lot more of them and it doesn't seem like I am staring at the same render while text scrolls. The choice at the start is interesting. This might have some potential, but like when I last played this game... I need more.

Simple days - This was an accidental download. I gave it as long as I could but couldn't really get far into it once the grind happened. It's a badly written thought out story and the majority of the game is a grind. The renders are piss poor if they don't look grainy the characters look waxy. Overall this is a boring little jaunt.

Stranded - So this is a weird one a sort of mix between renders and real imagery. It is trying to be told from some sort of first-person view, as such you'll only see a character render as if you were facing them. I don't think it really worked. The character renders zooming in and flying around the screen are nauseating - the animations were somewhat smooth, but the overall visual presentation is very off-putting. It is a no from me.

Growing Things Up - So they have finally got rid of that apostrophe… This was a small but nice little update, seemed to get a bit of exposition on a key character. Overall did nothing that would change my review, but I am still interested in where this goes.

Altered Worlds - Pretty Much a porn version of that old Nick Cage Film The Family Man. The opening BBQ scenes were pretty boring. I found it to be a “just a look at my pretty assets showcase” and despite it throwing women, who I know we are going to have lewds with, at me. I was wondering throughout where the fuck the game was going, could only come up with a Family Harem and was so close to being out. The twist is good, I don't think there are any "what if" games out there, but as mentioned. There is a film with a similar concept so it's not exactly new. The renders are fucking stunning. Well up there with some of the best, I can not fault them at all. It's hard to say if I like it or not, but I'd say It's got me interested, so far, I'd at least like to see another day in the "prime world" now he knows about the switch to see just what it's going to push.

Victoria in Big City - This game has been going on for some time now and the wait for this update I think was a bit damaging. While there are reasons for the delay (the game was going in another direction, but didn't) I still don't think it was worth the year's wait. I said here that the game lacks direction... I am seriously concerned it might not get it back.

Office Secrets - I picked this up way last month, despite saying I'd stay clear of them, we have a relatively short update here, but the premise is well and truly set. It did nothing to turn me away anyway, so will be continuing going forward.

No Fap Island – this was quite a fun game. A mix between reality shows we have an MC thrown on an island and told he can't cum. Let the fun begin. The AI art is done well, though it does get a little repetitive. But there are no extra limbs, and clothing and hair remain consistent- it's very well done and I am interested in seeing where it goes

Ms. Denvers - A bit of a Meh game this. I wrote about it here I can see what it wants to be... I'm just not sure how long it will take to get there...

New Coral City - Oh man what a ride. I actually think this is my lowest-scored review game ever. I think I need to try Follower first.

Westview Academy - I only just reviewed this one - you should read that for my thoughts.

Sandy Bay - This is a game I really need to get around to reviewing as I have now been playing it for some time. However, I also need to start a fresh playthrough as the game is so far not that memorable. The renders are a bit weird and would be off-putting to most, blending a weird flatness of clearly computer-generated characters with real-life backgrounds. It's nothing special by any means, but it is telling an often-treaded story in its own way.

B.E.S.T - So I last played this in December and it made it straight to my top 10. This update hasn't changed that. it's a fresh take on the school genre and one I am happy to continue playing.

Campus Bonds - So I am actually in two minds to continue this game or not - at the start I got the feeling it was trying to be different from BaDIK, but it fails so dramatically and is so similar I actually questioned if the similarities were on purpose. We have a Busty Librarian who we are not getting on with at the start, a Jock who hates us, a sprinkling of drugs here and there, free roams where you collect money and magazines and a morality system similar to the Dik/Chick - The story doesn't seem to be as engaging as BaDIK and I question why do we need this game when its bring nothing BaDIK hasn't already brought.

Blast from the Past

Over my time on here I have heard great things about City of Broken Dreamers, rather than go straight for that game I figured I'd try the Devs first game Depraved Awakening. I won't lie, I wasn't impressed with it. Still I not put of from COBD so expect to see that here soon.

The Fappies!

This month as well as our usual awards we are going to get 3 new ones. Worst New Game of the Month, Worst Updated Game of the Month and Hottest Lewd Scene of the Month. I am really interested to see if any game can get both the worst and best awards, but we shall see....

Best New Game of the Month - This category is getting hard I won't lie, I've mentioned a few times here already that we seem to be getting 3-minute wonders with game debuts and I really can't give an award based on that. But, that being said, we had two good debuts this month No Big Deal and Danger BLUE. They are both good in their own merits, but given some of the gameplay mechanics of Danger BLUE the scales are tipped slightly in its favour

Best Updated Game of the Month - I went into this month expecting it to win, so this month might be a bit biased, but I can't remember the last time I got 6 days out of an update. Well Being A DIK certainly managed that, however, that being said just because I was shocked by how much I enjoyed it, My Bimbo Dream almost had it.... maybe next time.

Best Lewd Scene - So there were actually two scenes that made me think of this award this month, Josy & Maya's BDSM scene from BaDIK and The Poker Scene from Victoria in Big City. I found both hot as hell, but I think Josy & Maya was absolutely stunning - I have to give it to The Poker Scene, Just because not only was it stunning, but the sheer length of it was amazing.

Worst New Game - There were so many to choose from here, basically, if you're showcasing your new game and it's under 5 minutes... chances are you are getting considered for this. But ultimately the worst one for me this month was Family Secrets. Showcasing your game with a shoddy created AI plane animation then just filling it with backstory and preposition... Do better...

Worst Updated Game - This one I didn't even need to think about. Serenity Meadows. Unfortunately, the dated renders and lack of a proof reader let it down here.

Maria Maria is a strange one, yeah there's not enough content there, but I'm willing to bet the timid frigid girl wearing the cross is going to become an over-sexualised nymph.

City of Secrets – One of those new games that shows nothing, renders seem at least presentable, there are a few typos here and there, but nothing too bad.

Doing my usual check to see what's worth looking at (and because I have notes for one new game on my spreadsheet to let you test it first :ROFLMAO:). City of Secrets is a duplicate name, it looks like it's been changed now to City of Sin. And I can't find Maria Maria, is it Rediscovering Maria? I remember us talking about that one when you tried it...

Become a Rock Star by Mr Jet - reviewed at Version 1.01

Story - Given the title of the game you'd be forgiven for thinking this is a story about a person's trials, struggles and experiences in regards to cracking into the music industry. Where there are aspects the this, it kind of takes a back seat and is more just about a member of a band and various relationships he develops through various reasons, the majority of them reasons relying heavily on porn logic. The narrative is overall weak, sacrificing any actual development in terms of character and plot or Logic for lewd scenes. For example, our MC finishes a shift at the nightclub to go home to meet LI only to find her Mum there and they are about to have dinner... How late are these two eating? There would be a better way to get the mom in the story less forced than this.

Renders - We have a mixed bag of renders - They are generally good, except when they aren't... By that I mean the Girl's renders are generally average to above. Clearly, a lot of effort has been put into them... some more than most. The males however are often on the wrong side of average. Our MC for example looks pretty weird. there does seem to be a massive jump in quality towards the end of the game, but it's too little too late by this point. The environments are very generic but are varied enough to be some immersion in the title, though there are some cases of scenes being a little over-saturated and using too much lighting. The Animations are a mixed bag. ranging from an absolute car crash to really really well done - there is one particular animation near the start that puts a LI in a completely different outfit.

Characters - Most if not all of them feel somewhat shallow and lack any serious character development. They are all individuals, but they are there to serve the purpose of just letting the MC nail them. The MC starts off really creepy and there is some questionable gaslighting that goes on in the earlier stages of the game, but generally, he does not grow as a character at all, his default state is a horny arsehole and that's pretty much the state he stays throughout most. He really has no defining characteristics that would make one of these girls insta fuck him never mind all of them.

Overall - This was a struggle to get through, essentially it's just a mixed bag of bad things thrown together to make a painful experience of an AVN. There was one point I turned to a friend and said I was only playing to see how the clusterfuck of cheating was going to be resolved and even then that landing was butchered.

The game has serious writing issues and does not have a coherent enough story to carry it. You could cut about 80% of this game and still get to the endings given, which just shows how much filler this game has. It is at its core a very boring and Soulless experience and despite my gallery having empty scenes, suggesting replayability... I have simply no desire to go back.

Poor 3/10

My Brother’s Wife by Beanie Guy Studio reviewed at Version 0.12

Story - This is the story of our MC returning from school and staying with his brother and his wife while his brother works late at the office. You can guess where this is going and the end goal. It's actually a slow burn, handled much better than most that tread this subject, with the whole thing written in a natural build-up kind of way. However, the writing is quite shocking. The dialogue does not seem natural at all and sometimes feels forced; the presence of typos does not help either—there were times I questioned whether the dev was actually English.

Renders - At times they look fine, but that is few and far between. Most of the time, they look absolutely terrible. In a change from the norm, I will discuss the environments first, as these are the worst of the bunch. The house is too large, and I don't mean in terms of square footage or number of rooms. The character models appear to be about 1 to 2 feet too short for the overall environment, which really takes you out of it. This issue is highlighted even more when the characters rendered with some degree of quality are present. The characters themselves are a mixed bag. Some, such as the MFC, are rendered to an above-standard quality; however, the older neighbour has a lot of room for improvement. The good thing is that most of the women are rendered with realistic proportions, so there's little clothing warping here. Finally, the animations are quite janky. Most do not look right, and all of them are looped, which only emphasizes the jankiness. What is worse is that there are many animations that don't add anything and could be eliminated.

Characters - At its core, we have three main characters: the MC, the FMC, and her husband. The husband is written like he has bipolar disorder—he is moody one moment and an okay character the next, often seeming like two different characters. The wife is definitely the star of the show here. She's been written in quite an alluring way. At her base, she's just a basic housewife who, for reasons, has had to adjust to an unusual suburban lifestyle. This grates on her, and you can tell. She has found herself watching trash TV and coasting through life; it's not surprising why things happen when the MC arrives. Our MC, on the other hand, is a bit of a mixed bag. This is only because we seem to be able to shape him through choices. But along with the growth of the FMC, his development is at least believable, especially considering the attitude his brother has towards him.

Overall - This is a very frustrating game. At its core, based on its premise, this seems like an absolute slam dunk—everything about it should work, but it just doesn't. The game doesn't seem to have been made with any pride at all. It looks amateurish, feels amateurish, and plays amateurish. While some of the narrative is good, it's not great, and it's clear our dev cannot write; therefore, it’s puzzling why he feels the need to go without a proofreader.

I really question the main mechanic of this game, which is the points you earn from choices. Some of them are not obvious at all, and most will affect one character positively and the other negatively. It leads to a very unbalanced game quickly and doesn't quite work as intended, I feel.

Ultimately, this is a good concept but executed poorly. The bad outweighs the good by some ratio, and despite the fact that the bad is fixable and relatively easy to address, I can't help but feel it's too far gone at this point. A simple proofread would elevate it; a bit more time spent on renders would enhance it; and some time dedicated to routing and mapping would improve it. With all three, you could potentially be looking at one of the greatest AVNs out there. Instead, we have this—a game that deserves so much more and isn’t, and will probably need to be remade when the dev realizes his mistakes.

Memories by Deviloper first impressions at version 0.3

I played this back in January but forgot to mention it anywhere other than in conversation with a friend. I didn't say much there, as we didn't really have much to judge, but here we are, three updates in, and this game is truly finding itself, which is quite refreshing after the debacle of TACOS. Especially when it seems so many games completely fumble this subject.

Just how deep we are down the rabbit hole on this particular subject is yet to be seen, but the developer seems to be delicately setting up opportunities for NTS, NTR, and swinging. There don't seem to be any traps, and the choices presented to us appear to be quite honest and straightforward. The game also seems to encourage both parties to be open to the swinging side of things, despite an early question suggesting that only one of the parties partakes. However, that might just be a path to cheating; it's yet to be seen.

Visually, the game has no faults, despite being busty our FMC has somewhat natural-looking tits and they are not the usual bolt-ons you usually get with busty characters. but even if a busty woman is not to your taste, there are other women of all shapes and sizes and bar the mother, who is not of my taste, they all look stunning.

Overall, I feel this game has massive potential. It's hard to say for certain yet, as it might fumble the landing once it actually gets to the meat and bones of the story. However, given how we are approaching the subject, I have much more hope than I usually do with these games. Time will tell, and I'll follow until proven otherwise.

Artemis by digi.B reviewed at Version 0.6.1b

Story - Here we have a main character who can't help but fall into trouble repeatedly. Until one day, the stars align, and he comes up smelling of roses. At its core, it's a nice story that has been told before, featuring a down-on-his-luck character who rekindles relationships with old friends, leading to pleasant connections. But that's about where the standards end. The game quickly asks you to suspend your disbelief and doesn't really ease up on that, which can seem a bit ridiculous and may not suit everyone's taste. However, if you can get past it, we do have a nice little narrative.

Renders - The game is undergoing some graphical upgrades, and the earlier renders are being redone. Unfortunately, at the moment, the difference between the newer ones and the old feels like night and day. Though it is only for one chapter, it is the first, so it could be off-putting for some. Once the renders settle in, they are acceptable, though not exceptional, especially by 2025 standards. There are certainly nicer games out there. Most of the characters look different and are easily distinguishable, although many lean towards the busty side. The usual clothing style wrapping around the chest does not seem to be an issue here. Environments are abundant, and aside from a few locations that seem to have lighting chosen for aesthetic reasons, they possess a pleasing natural light. While our story centres around some core characters, the world is at least populated with supporting NPCs, making it feel whole and lived in.

Characters - There are more than a few characters here, but the game seems to focus on our MC, two LIs, and a nice antagonist. The MC is a bit of a wet lettuce, really, and really gets shat on. He does get better as the game goes on and begins to develop a backbone. However, I would question some of his choices early on in the game, especially when certain characters have proven themselves to him more than once, and he still has trouble crossing the line of trust. Kindra, one of the main LIs, is a little over the top in terms of comic relief; I'm not even sure the comic relief character should be merged with an LI, but here we are. She again gets a bit of growth, but it's not enough given where she ends up, so much so that a character introduced earlier in the game seems purposely like Chekhov's Gun, placed to help her get where she needs to be. Our second LI seems to be June, who has walked a similar path to the MC but seems to have come out of it better on the other side. Her growth is minimal at best, but due to her proximity to the other two, I suspect hers is more of a slow burn. June is the absolute catalyst to the game, though, and where suspension of disbelief is required the most. We meet all the other girls thanks to her, and because of her, there are some characters that do feel a little forced; while I won't say all characters are like this, there are certainly some that feel less natural than others.

Overall - This game is set in the wrong time period; where it ideally ought to be set is obviously open to discussion, but the Sci-Fi tropes it is employing do not really work in a modern-day setting. It is by no means damaging to the overall narrative, but it would create a better one if the time period matched the tone it is conveying. That being said, it is a nice story and is written in a way that shows care and attention, which is good, as it’s definitely story-focused rather than lewd-focused. The added pop culture references are really fun; I was tallying how many I could spot but simply lost count at one point. It is definitely a game that knows when to take itself seriously and when a little fun needs to be injected.

I do not feel this title deserves the elite status it has, though; while the good points do outweigh the bad, the bad points in the game are still very noticeable. The story, despite being good, could be better and would not only benefit from a period change but also from some heavy cutting, too. We are only up to chapter 6, and it seems we have barely scratched the surface; I am not even sure what the main plot line is. Add to the fact that lewds are few and far between here, we might find people get bored of this title very fast.

Acceptable 7/10

College Kings By Undergrad Steve Reviewed at Act2 6.2.5

Story - Here we have another college game where the MC suddenly finds himself surrounded by a comical best friend and numerous attractive females who need various assistance throughout the story. I'll forgive you if you think you've played this game before; add in the concept of Frats and Sororities, and it should definitely feel somewhat similar. Overall, the story feels quite grounded; at its core, it's just a narrative about our MC's journey during what is currently his first year in college. At its essence, it feels very generic with no real purpose. A little drama is added with various antagonists throughout both seasons, but they appear a bit late each time. Most of the time, the narrative feels somewhat monotonous, maybe even stale.

Renders - I found the quality of the models to be above average, sometimes reaching great levels. There are lots of different LIs here, and for the most part, they all seem unique. There are no over-the-top chesty girls, so there's no issue with clothing warp, and I've seen very little clipping overall. The MC could be rendered better, mainly because he looks about 15 and lacks any distinctive traits that would warrant the attention he receives from the girls. We do get a nice variety of environments; while they are rendered well, they often feel empty; that is to say, the only characters that seem to populate this university are those connected to the MC. For example, the ferry journey consists solely of the MC and his classmates.

Characters - There are many characters in this game, and it introduces them rapidly. While there is no harem option, choosing a girl doesn't seem to lock you out of other non-sexual interactions with others. Some characters receive minor development, but it's not significant, and most, if not all, follow the tropes and clichés typical of the genre. Our MC is a typical schoolboy protagonist; when people have problems, he comes to save the day. There are rarely scenes between the MC and LIs that feel natural and not forced.

Overall - This isn't the first game of this type, nor will it be the last... so comparisons are always going to arise, and in this game's instance, comparisons to a certain other frat-based college game are inevitable. While I commend this game for at least trying to be different, it remains far too safe to ever achieve anything great.

The overall narrative, including plot and characters, is too generic and borders on boring. Despite the presence of multiple paths in this game promoting replayability, I had no desire to explore any other options once I completed my initial playthrough, especially since my interactions with the girls persisted as I ventured in and out of their lives.

While the game certainly has its pros, its cons outweigh them significantly. The game feels somewhat tedious and, at times, like a chore to get through. In terms of college games, there are worse options available, but there are definitely better ones, and if you're looking for a story-driven college game, you might as well choose the better alternatives.

Reclaiming the Lost by Passion Portal - Reviewed at Version 0.10

Story - It is actually hard to pinpoint the story here. Yes, the synopsis tells you pretty much straight that we have the MC who suddenly finds out he is a father and seeks to find his estranged daughter. However, there's more to it than that; there seems to be some extra personal drama and mystery blended in. As the search for the missing daughter continues, secrets must be uncovered regarding a close friend. The narrative is beautifully done, blending mystery, personal drama, and intrigue to produce a nice slow burn of a game that clearly has a story to tell rather than getting to the lewds. There are occasional typos, but it's not riddled with them; you can tell there has been at least some serious effort put into the narrative here.

Renders - I found the characters to be very pleasing; all characters, both male and female, have been rendered to a far-above-average standard. Most of the female models have realistic proportions; even the more busty ones don't have over-the-top breasts, adding a bit of realism to them. Environments can at times feel empty; there are instances where we are in places that should feel busy, but they don't, instead presenting a minimal focus on the characters. It's by no means a problem, but the world sometimes does feel empty. We do get a fair share of environments, though, and they are lit very well. I did notice a few times they appeared a little bright, and I couldn't tell if that was purposeful or not.

Characters - We have the usual tropes of characters, yes, including the Milf Mom and the hot sister. Heck, even the hot wife of your friend is included. Though the characters in-game are lightly shaped by the choices you make, they are still well-developed with distinctly unique personalities. While they do indeed seem like they are there to meet certain tropes in the genre, they are utilised in a way that enriches the narrative rather than forces it.

Overall - At its core, it's quite a simplistic game. It certainly lacks some features that will prevent it from ever reaching the heights of some games on here. However, it's definitely one of those games where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. We have a compelling narrative combining an intriguing story with memorable characters. The choices we get don't alter the main story but instead develop the characters in a meaningful way, promoting replayability. While the pace is a bit slow, it works well for now, though it can't rely on teasing alone and will need to start answering questions and growing in future updates. It's one to watch.

April In View

So, another month, another month in view. April was always going to be a tricky one for me to get through everything. Given I had some time away for my birthday, so I knew there would be some games left in the folder at the end, hopefully ill get round to them next time they drop into the “Latest updates” page. But bar one or two games, I got round to playing everything I wanted to.

Anyway, let's see what f95 brought us in April, shall we?

New Games

Elysium – The renders are certainly pretty, I'm curious about the description though, “going to work, and dealing with the daily grind of corporate life” The MC only went to work once. The rest was just filled with needless family life. It was a nice showcase of images and texts, but ultimately showed nothing.

SeductVille – The renders here are piss poor I wont lie – be prepared to look at the same image with only sight variations to the pose as the story unfolds around you – Doesn’t seem to be any story to it other than go to a new town and fuck everyone to gain experience. Looks too sandboxy for me.

Price of Desire – This is going to be one to watch, there are a few teething issues, I won't lie, there is an issue with the renders. The in-focus static renders over the blurred backgrounds does nothing but highlight some of the flaws the models have; the writing is choppy in places, not just with typos and grammatical errors, but there's a point where the MC is referred to as MC1. Overall, though, the concept is interesting. With a bit of TLC, this could go somewhere

Marital Problems – I THINK this one just made it into April games, could be wrong, but I thought Id allow it anyway. These NTR phone games are really chink and fast now – this is a fresh spin on the genre, instead of the couple experimenting through choice a thearpist has told them to do it. The male of the couple is against it for a change. Nothing is really here, given it's only a one-chapter game. I will say I am more excited about this one than I've been about the others.

Moonlight – And this is how you do a new game. I've not got much I can say bad about it really. The renders are great, and the storyline, although throwing a little too much technical shit at us in the first instance it is interesting and engaging enough. I didn't see too many typos, so the narrative wasn't spoiled at all. Overall, I say it is quite the engaging game - With the little bit of mystery there, I am at least interested in picking up update 2 to see where this is going

Boundaries of Morality – This is another fine example of how to do a freshly baked showcase of a game; it is more or less good. The renders are simply fantastic, the writing is great, and though the narrative doesn’t really give much away so far, the story is at least interesting enough to make me want to play the next chapter. However, there are bad things about this game too, mainly the animations, there are loads, and sometimes they just feel like showing off rather than adding anything to the game. At one point, I counted 6 in the space of about 2 minutes. The animations are also used in the lewds, and it kinda doesn’t work as well as the dev thinks it should. That being said, we are in the early days here, and it's definitely sparked a little interest in me

Falling Undercover – Nox Syndicate – Given, for the most part, I enjoyed the last game this dev brought us, this was one that was actually on my radar, and I was waiting for. For now, it seems to be more of the same, which is both a problem and isn't – our dev sure knows how to tell a NTS story, that is clear by all their games, but this one still remains text-heavy. Which is a result of the type of static renders used. The setting here is at least interesting, and I think will be enough to carry a decent story… we do get enough to at least see where this game is going or at least wants to. Either way, I am excited as to where this goes

Updates

The Abyss – This is quite the attractive game, there is an underlying story there, but you really need to suspend your disbelief here, though it has a nice illusion of choice I cant help but feel this is going to be one of those games that showcase various kink and fetishes, with the choices adding various flavours rather than a story variation, though I’d be pleased to be proven wrong on this. The game has been translated poorly, and as a result,t it can be quite difficult to play. There are various issues with pronouns and names, and the dialogue is very choppy, often difficult to read and understand. This needs a lot of time to cook, really.

World of Secrets – My god, this has some of the hottest high-quality renders I've seen in a game for some time; however, that is all it really has going for it. The writing is all over the place, sometimes being mildly confusing to nearly incomprehensible. Seriously, I get why the dev feels the need for the teenagers of the game to talk in their own little way, but it's not adding anything to the game. I actually played for the best part of 3 hours. Couldn’t tell you what the game is about… There seemed to be a mystery with the MC's father, but it's soon dropped. Not sure who the main Lis are in the game either, as characters are thrown at us at quite the pace… I am not sure this game knows what it wants to be. Either way, I'm not going to find out.

University Days – I didn’t get too far in this one, if I am being honest. Nothing about the game grabbed me. The renders were poor, and the story, from what I saw, is very generic, somewhat cliched and nothing we haven't seen before elsewhere. The overall writing is also very poor and just does nothing to simply excite me. With the amount of school games I am playing… I don’t need another, especially one with poor production values across the board.

You Only Die Twice – I wasn't really expecting much from this, but I thought I’d take a chance anyway. While the renders are passable and the writing is okay, it's not going to be enough. Looking at the tags, I can see this won't be for me, with the main reason being it's a Kinetic Novel… added all them planned tagged and its just seems liked its going to be full of kinks and a bit too much for me.

A.L.I History – I bowed out of this one quite early, it just wasn't ticking the boxes for me. While I found the game visually pleasing, that's all I could say. I did find it pleasing. The writing, while sound, grammatically correct and the likes, is very bland, boring and struggling to actually get anywhere. There are nice hints at history, but it just adds to the frustration rather than opening up any intrigue and suspense. It feels like this game could be so much more, but either through being rushed, not thought out or some other reason, it kinda feels somewhat incomplete

Sins of Lust – Another one I had to bow out of, this is just categorically bad, the narrative is all over the place, putting across a nonsensical story, so much so, in fact, characters suddenly change personality just based on where the dev wants them to go. The renders are bad. Really bad, I have no idea why the dev chose such a childish model for the MC, yet here we are. It seems to be one of those games just designed around tropes; however, while most games in this style of writing know exactly what they are, this one seems to dance around the fact. It was very painful to even get as far as I did

Recall Destiny – This, for all intents, is actually a new game, however, it gets classed as an update due to the fact that its one and only chapter has been remade. – The improvement is quite striking and noticeable, though in the newer version, there are issues I won't lie. The renders are off, sometimes really quite bad, sometimes just barely getting above passable. The main problem is hair; it often looks like it's taken straight from a LEGO piece, and there were 3 times I counted where the MC's hair was clipping. – the narrative is good, if we were to consider this a “New” game its not one of these 8 minute wonders and does give enough to show what the games about, it does feel a little rushed, with an added bit of chaos, but I think that's due to the length of time it chose to tell what it has,

My Hotwife – This is one I return to every now and then, and I do not know why. The game is not inherently bad, it's just that at the moment, it's got nothing going for it. There are a few reasons why, but my main issue is with execution. At its core, this is a basic cuck fetish simulator – the game just gives us various scenes in which the MC gets cucked by his wife, rinse and repeat. The main reasons why they started the journey seem to be forgotten, the added semi-sandbox mode hasn't added anything but frustration for me. There are better ways that this game could be done, though to be fair, given what it is I'm not sure any other way would add to it,

The Adored Marriage – A short update, a bit more speed is added to the previously mentioned slow burn of a plot. Nothing I can add to my review really. I think this needs a few more updates to decide if I will be continuing with it or not

My Phone is NTR – A typical NTR text/Phone game – still in the early days, doesn’t seem to offer anything the other 45,000 of these types offer. Can't really say anything other than that.

Miss Denvers. – What an absolutely pointless cash grab! Simply no point in this update at all.

Corrupted Hearts – I didn’t like this at all! Firstly, the option to only play as the MC's perspective only takes away from the story and should not have been given – at its base, it's the story of an MC getting cucked who doesn’t know it. Without the fems POV we as the player would know nothing… There wouldn't be any story there. Secondly, the cucking is important, as evident by the game over we get if we discourage it. The story itself it's not exactly a fresh take on the genre, and it's moving at a snail's pace. The renders are somewhat weird, while they do get better, they sometimes seem dated. Overall, l everything is average about this game, and it all adds up to a very dull experience

My Girlfriends Travel – This is another NTR phone game, though this is a little different; rather than it being all about the girl, there certainly seems to be the option that the male is going to get in on the action. It's done very sloppily – the GF is in Europe, for example, no word on where the MC is, but they don’t seem to have any time difference. That is to say, the MC and FMC seem to be on the same or similar time zones. I can let that pass for narrative sake… but there would be better ways to tell this story.

Amnesia – Fuck me this one is pretty, probably the prettiest Ive seen in a long time. However, that just wasn't enough for me to keep me playing after an hour. The MC's amnesia is a bit of a crutch here, and he comes across as a right tool. The story presented so far is boring, yes, there are a few interesting characters, but even they are not consistent. At its core, this is a very pretty but very typical “landlady” game with tedious sandbox elements. Despite the prettiness, there are games that do this concept better.

My Brother’s Wife – A niche little game, unfortunately, it suffers quite badly from a number of factors. I discuss them here

Bindr: Kink Dating – So it seems this game is going through a bit of an overhaul at the moment. Based on what is presented so far, it's hard to determine if I am actually going to like this or not. The sandbox really puts me off, esp given that so far I have actually seen nothing that warrants having it. I'm willing to give this the benefit of the doubt, as the premise doesn’t at least show the sandbox part to be grindy, but I guess we shall see. I’ll come back to this soon, I think.

Strong Desire – I didn’t get too far into this game before an update was dropped into the thread that would suggest it is getting remade, and it really put me off playing any further. From what I saw, the game seems okayish, a nice little Cuckquean game with a breeding and family harem aspect. I’ll possibly pick this up at a later date, but if it's getting redone, I'd rather do that version

Office Perks – "A Nice little update that brings a whole lot of nothingness to an already big pile of nothingness. Interestingly, though, things do seem to be picking up in terms of work, and it's going to be very interesting when the "harem" is all in the office on Monday. *may need to wait for 2 updates next time"

Stay Online – Okay, this game is getting good now – the use of video calling rather than text messages is actually quite the touch and is certainly helping it stand apart from all the other phone/text games out there. It's still massively flawed by not being built around a phone UI, though and really lacks a gallery app. But overall, it's still an impressive game.

Memories – I don’t know why, but this got missed off the January Review. Anyway, that's remedied now, and thanks to having a decent amount of content, I was able to give my impressions here!

Artemis – Considering this game's elite status on here, some even ranking as high or higher than being a Dik, I am shocked how late to this one I actually came. I won't lie, I struggled with it and suspect I’ll struggle with it going forward, but it's not done enough to turn me off so far…

My Milly – Essentially Dating my Daughter, similarities were a little too much for me to handle, bowed out quite early

Summer Temptations – A little update from what the game brought in February, this game is really starting to find its feet. Based on dialogue, it looks like this is going full cuckold, though, with humiliation and all the tropes that go with it. I’ll withhold judgment on this until the Cucking begins, though, as I really want to see how the game handles it.

KRWN – Well it seems like this is a remake of a game thats a couple of years old, I wont lie, its a bit of a disapointment – there were lines attributed to the wrong person, a shit load of characters thrown at you and barely any story – playing what little there is of the origional doesn’t help ewither.

Moonripple Lake – I have been playing this since its initial release, and up to recently was on my has potential list. Now release 0.4, the game began to get a bit paranormal for my tastes. With these AI games being a dime a dozen and me already playing multiple others, it was an easy decision to drop this one. Despite the good art, I just know the story will be lost on me.

College Kings – A game that, despite trying so hard not to be Being A Dik, is a soft clone of it regardless. While it is quirky in its own little way, it's overall a boring jaunt through an already saturated market. You can read my thoughts here

The Adventerous Couple - Another month, another shit update. I won't lie, I'm not even playing this now. I am just downloading it and checking out the gallery. We do seem to be getting to the point of new content now as we slowly creep up and past the endpoint of the original game… I hope my interest will peak again then, but for now, it's still a mess

Boxed in - I played this back in January, and then have been playing the updates as and when I see them. Now the game is finished, I can't really add anything to what I said in my review here… While the escape room concept is nice, it doesn’t add anything to the family harem concept. There are certainly better games that handle this subject better.

My Daughter's New Lover – I tried so hard with this, unfortunately, the translation here is poor – the genders are incorrectly used among other errors, I wouldn't class it as unplayable, but it was a bit painful to get through

I Love Your Wife – I can't really add anything to what I said last time I played – the game still insists on using colours to highlight who is speaking rather than names. It's a difficult one to get through, though the sharing aspect is beginning now – I’ll give this one 1 or 2 updates to “find itself” before deciding to continue or not

Reclaiming the Lost – I was actually surprised by this one – I go into it more here in my review, but it's a nice, slow burn of a game. It isn't without its faults, but for now, it's a fine game overall. Nice Mysteries, great characters, and an engaging plot. There's some potential here

Welcome to Port Haven – As AI games go, this one is up there, I think, it's not without faults that are typical of an AI game… Hairstyles change, clothing changes, etc, but for the most part, the images are consistent and there are no extra or too few fingers. The story is at least interesting, rather than going straight into NTR/NTS, our dev has set the couple up to be friends first, so the options for paths are many. I'm quite interested to see where this goes.

Blast From the Past

After being impressed by Domino Beach, I decided to venture into Become a Rock Star, a game that I had heard mixed things about, maybe tilting more good things than bad… I was disappointed, as you can read about here.

The Fappies

Best New Game of the Month - This was a hard one and not for the usual reason of the new games being a showcase of nothing, but because we actually had a few games that showcased something. Ultimately, it was down to two, though Moonlight and Price of Desire. Ultimately, though, one's lack of typos and other errors costs it the win. I decided to go with Moonlight. It's really nice when these New games actually showcase something - this is definitely one to watch.

Best Updated Game of the Month - This is becoming a difficult category to judge, mainly because some of the games I am playing for the first time, and thus, the whole game is getting judged. It might seem a little unfair, but unfortunately, I don't know any other way to do it. Anyway, I was disappointed with a lot of the updates this month; nothing really stood out till the end when I played Reclaiming the Lost. I was genuinely surprised by this one.

Lisa - Become a Rock Star.jpg

Worst New Game - Well, I won't lie, there were only two it could be this month - Elysium and Seductville - it might be my bias against sandbox games here, but I found Seductville the worst of the two here...

Worst Updated Game - I knew the moment I played this that the game would win this one. But Ms Denvers was such a disappointing update. There was simply no reason to put the game out in that state. Shocking

Beyond Tomorrow by Dream Games First Thoughts at Ch.2

First things first, this game is absolutely stunning. In every aspect it offers, the effort put in is simply outstanding.

The renders are great; while there are other games that could be argued to be done better, this doesn’t mean it doesn't deserve a place among them. Every character, be it a LI or a supporting character, constantly looks great. The environments are also done to a high standard, and nothing looks out of place.

The story is a slow burn, and I imagine it’s going to get quite dark in places, but we are getting nice little breadcrumbs sprinkled here and there to keep our interest. It's cleverly done, and while it becomes more prominent as the breadcrumbs become significant, a lot of it is so subtle that it's a blink-and-you-miss-it moment. They are really well done. The story does rely on clichés and tropes a little—the strained siblings' relationship, the hovering best friend, the mom's hot friend, etc. It's nothing too bad, but things feel a little forced rather than earned at the moment. I feel the story would have been told better if the flashbacks were presented as a chapter instead of sprinkled throughout.

I get the feeling the dev is set on telling a specific story and is shortcutting his way there, which is a shame because some aspects of the narrative show that they are actually a good storyteller. Instead, we get a game that is not a bore, because there is some depth—it's just that sometimes we don't get any clear buildup, tension, or romantic moments, and things feel rushed.

I think the potential here is quite big, and once we get to the nitty-gritty of it and, more importantly, as relationships start forming, this will become quite the game. It’s one to watch for me anyway.
