Went into this thinking I'd just skim through it in 15-20 minutes since I'm not big on deck-building games or whatever this genre is called.
Ended up playing for 2 hours before I realized I had things I needed to do, came back afterwards and played some more until I realized I spent multiple nights messing around with it. Overall this is a pretty fun game with an interesting, though basic, premise. I liked the customization even though it could be fleshed out some more to give the player more freedom.
The gameplay is simple, you start out with a deck of skills, you go through floors of a dungeon where you have to find a boss to proceed to the next floor, every encounter gives you a new card, it's a bit difficult to describe it without writing an essay.
The animations are okay, not bad, but sometimes they feel stiff and lacking in impact, though I admit it'd be impressive to have over 100 animations that are all well-made, so it didn't bother me too much. One thing that did stick out to me, however, was the protag's face, it's just too flat, the side profile kinda makes me chuckle, but I suppose it's the aesthetic the dev was going for.
However, I really did not like the part at the end where you just get 1 shot by the boss unless you get a specific card (good luck with that) or you play on the hard difficulty. Felt quite cheap to get to the final room just to get 1 shot by an unblockable cheese.
To sum it up:
Good:
Fun gameplay, neat graphics, lots of animations and decent enemy variety, protagonist customization which is always always always a big plus for me, cute merchant, and interesting theme.
Bad:
Animation quality is somewhat mediocre, odd flat faces, customization is a little limited, might be unforgiving if you're not familiar with deck-building
