VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Leap of Faith [Ch. 8 v1.0.3] [DriftyGames]

There are a lot of words that can be used to describe the story, but the experience can be boiled down fairly simply: your enjoyment will largely depend on whether or not the themes of mental illness and suicide resonate with you. While there are multiple paths to go through, the story centers around one character in particular who carries these issues with her, and your enjoyment of her - whether or not you actually pursue her path - will determine the emotional payoff for you. For me, it resonated very strongly, and the overall story felt powerful. If those things don't resonate with you, though, it probably won't be nearly as enjoyable an experience. Personally, I'd like to think that being able to craft a story that offers even a slight glimpse of how mental illness can feel is great for the genre as a whole, but that's just me.

Also, bonus points for having an MC who actually has something to offer aside from just having an enormous cock.

Won't be the first nor the last person to say that this game is just simply amazing but I do wanna throw it out there myself...

Now I don't know about you guys but to me personally Cece is the only girl who I am and will ever go for whenever I play this...Because she to me is just simply amazing and no matter how tempting it is to go and explore the other paths it just wouldn't feel right if you get what I mean and to be quite honest I'm abit afraid to see how it turns out with Cece on the other paths even tho it's probably just fine...But hey I got the ending thats perfect to me and I can without a doubt say that I'm looking forward to the next 22 hours spent replaying Cece's path.

I'm sure all what I just said explains just exactly why I gave this game the 5 stars...And last but not least Sancho1969 thank you for your amazing mod you really know your way around a keyboard.

Leap of Faith is one of the most exceptional vn's here. The story is exceptionally well told, you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll download Sancho's mod to experience the original vision of Drifty.
The graphics are well above average, especially with certain characters like Stephanie who looks incredible, where as Cece looks pretty familiar, and Holly who isn't as well crafted. The scenes and backgrounds however are always exceptionally done, it never looks like a 3d model standing in front of a picture.
So many games include a phone, but none has crafted it into the game and story as well as Leap of Faith. Usually its a gimmic or a way to save, but here it adds to the story and the feeling of realness. And the way it gives you queues to interact with it, but even if you don't right then, the way it has some leeway that even if you missed the first chance, you may have several scenes to discover those phone events. The phone is sometimes optional and rewarding!
The story told isn't realistic, but its used to create relationships between all the characters. The realationships are what matter in the story, and you can't have them all. The point isn't being super realistic, its about presenting you with these relationships and you have to decide what matters and accept the consequences of your choices.
The choices are way above average in this game. The ability to be friends, lovers, adverseries or frenemies with the characters is beyond other visual novels.
The animations are great when they are present, sometimes its stills or 3 pictures looped.
The sound, check the SanchoMod, no one loves this game more than Sancho1969, whatever Sancho suggests for music would be the best way to experience the game.

Leap of Faith is a prime example of a strong writing, character developmet, compeling story and how all of this together bring up deep feelings from players. The sexual content is fewerthan in a lot of others AVNs, but what is in this game has something that a lot of VNs doesn't have: a true emotional conection. With the characters and with the player.

The game deals with serious topics, mainly depression and suicide. But imho Leap of Faith is above all a celebration of life, friendship and love. And how even when all seems lost and meaningless, these three precious things are still worth fighting for.

Man I have read a lot of these vn and I mean alot not being able to sleep cuz of my insomnia and I've really honestly liked quite a bit of them but ive got to say to the person who or people who put so much thought into this one it's just absolutely amazing and I still em not finished with it I haven't been able to pull myself away from it it's so well told almost like it's actually happened so before I I go and continue to read and finish this vn standing ovation cuz just wow and thank you I just hope now that I pulled myself away and said something about it that I don't eat my words and if any wants a really good story that you not even gonna as have about the next part wene you think you do this is the store you want to read right here this is just awesome I can't express how good it is I don't take my word for it check it out and again thank few to the author and I look forward to anything you ever write after this

Excellently written, really more of an actual visual novel with sex tastefully interspersed. The topic of suicide is difficult but handled well especially considering the dev's personal connection. The choice of interests are all pretty interesting though without a walkthrough it's a bit too easy to miss out on specific scenes.

This game is a masterpiece and the reviews just confirm it. I'm in this site for more than 5 years and this is one of the best, if not the best game i've seen so far.

The story is one of the bests i've seen so far and i'm not comparing it only with porn games.

Renders are great, a lot of good animations, the commedy is amazing and so are the characters, each of them, not forgetting about the musics: they were also one of the highlights of this game.

What amazes me the most is that even if the renders were shitty and the music sucked, i would still give it the same 5 starts just for the story alone.

TL;DR: This is a must-play game. I'm eager for the next that drifty is developing.

Absolutely stunning game. The Heavy and emotional story line is complimented by amazing renders of beautiful women and even though the sex scenes are fantastic they actually (for me) take second place to the story. 10/10 for this game

Let me start by saying, some of you already know me as a dev here. Yes, I still play these games, and try to learn from them.

I don't know how anyone could rate this game any less than 5 stars, honestly. I've played a lot of AVN's from this site and there a very few with the level of writing and emotion that Leap of Faith have. It's something I am also trying to achieve with my own projects. Drifty is very talented at finding those funny moments, sad moments, or even dramatic moments... and making you feel it. And the art that goes with the dialogue just makes it even harder for you not to laugh or cry. So you have the funny dialogue, but then you also have the image to go with it, done well I might add.

Another reviewer mentioned that the main part of the story is Cece; the rest are basically side characters. I agree with that. My first playthrough, I focused on Cece and tried to avoid the other characters (sexually or romantically). And I think the story worked out perfectly for that path. I can't speak for other paths because I haven't completed the game yet on those.

That reviewer also mentioned that the content with some of the other characters was either ridiculous or just not very realistic. Meh, I half agree, half disagree. In the end, it is about Cece. And my first thought after completing was "wow, everyone came together for her". Like... she needed this group of friends to help pull her through. Even if the side romances may not come off as being all that realistic or I dare say, believable... it still works out just fine. All of the interactions with all of these characters must be there because they all connect.

And let's face it... we want these interactions. Because without them, the story just stays in a dark place. So, I have no complaints about the other characters at all. In fact, they add that "feel good" factor at times. Like the back and forth between the MC and his buddy. Some people don't like any other 'dudes' to be in these games. I quite enjoyed the banter between them. He's a pretty cool guy and that brings something to the story as well. He's not out to 'get your girl' and in fact, you get the opportunity to help get him setup with the one you want. And though that seems strange to pull off in an AVN, it works. No 'ntr' here.

The music is pretty great too. It fits the situation when it plays. I'm into a good avn that has good music. I spend a lot of time choosing and carefully placing music in my own games. Drifty does this well. In fact, some scenes won't make as much sense if you have the music turned off.

As for the sex scenes. They too are done quite well. And something I liked about this game is that they happened a bit more realistically than in most avn's. This isn't a slam against other vn's, just an observation. It's like Drifty, when writing this, took a moment to think about how something would really happen. This one doesn't play out like a porn game... but an actual story that just happens to include sexual situations as they come, naturally.

Overall, Leap of Faith is definitely a 5-star adult visual novel and everyone should have at least one playthrough if you're not especially sensitive to suicide situations. Understandable that some may feel more emotional over something like this than others. But the story is so well done and I can't remember a single update I played where I didn't laugh, cry, or both throughout. Thank you Drifty for an amazing game.

Great game, touching story and nice visuals. A bit of a short ending, but I understand the background of the story is maybe a bit difficult for the creator to finish this project. Best thing to do is to play the entire game in 1 go! Looking forward to his next work

This game was beautiful and managed to elicit tears from me. The characters felt three dimensional, there was character development, and the main character actually acted like a functional member of society unlike in most games. The musical vignettes were a nice touch that I hadn't seen done before either.

i felt that i had choices pop up at the right time, didnt like that some choices were red for me because i didnt understand what i did wrong, i'd like the game not to show them to me

This game was just breath-taking.

Still plenty for me to discover, but I felt my main story was the Cece Story.
So my review is on that. That's my Canon ending and that is what my 5 stars are for.

The highlight for me...
The story... It was awesome, but no, not that.
The graphics and animation... Pretty damn good, but no, not that
The girls... Pretty damn good (Cece!! you go girl, but all of them were pretty special), but no not that
Chris,... The best best-friend in one of these games? Nope

The MC was pretty much the best MC I have ever played.
Not once did he cheat on any girl, not trying to build a harem (And damn it was tempting, the girls are all just so cool) And he was morally upstanding and just a genuinely good guy!

In most games on here (Even the very good ones) The mental gymnastics you need to go through to not make the MC into an absolute scumbag is very extensive. (Fucking mothers, sisters, landladies, roommates and everything with boobs with no regards for who you are cheating on to try and get them all, Pokémon style)

But in this game, the MC is a pretty decent guy that I would not be ashamed to be in RL. The decency that he treats every single person in the game is nothing short of amazing. Also, that fact that you don't feel like a piece of shit when letting off one of the girls, is a breath of fresh air.

So, on top of an already brilliant game, to give us an amazing MC was the cherry on top for me.

This has been one of my top fav Vn's. It has great writing (it'll give ya the feelz), great art (natural and fresh), a great balance between the intersecting/intertwining stories and the relationships/erotic parts, the lead ins feel believable.

This is one of those VN's where there is no "Big Story" just a bunch of ordinary little ones, colliding with each other, more slice of life.

Sorry to see it reach it's end, but if you haven't played it, I highly, highly recommend.

Wow...What a masterpiece! Without a doubt, the best VN that I have ever played. Everything about it is just so perfect...the beautiful renders, gorgeous characters, amazing story and the music..it's so damn good that I have even added some of those songs to my playlist. What a roller coaster of emotions, it made me smile, made me laugh and it even made me cry. Not once did I feel the need to skip through the dialogues, it had me engrossed the entire time. @DriftyGames I cannot tell you how glad I am that you wrote this beautiful story..she will be proud.

Bare none. This is probably one of if not the best written VN's on this site. The story will make you cry and will make you think. The first time I experienced Ch. 6's ending I was crying like a baby. I don't have the words to describe how it made me feel and how well it was put together. The characters are well written and believeable. While not everything screams "that would totally happen in reality", every scenario makes sense, follows logic, and pregoresses in a satisfying matter. The integration of music and animatin syncing is also very cool to see and definitely worth sitting back and waiting to see what happens. Definitely not a game meant to be skipped through just to get to the "good bits". It was clear that the author wanted to tell a story first before anything else and not enjoying that story to its fullest is just doing a disservice to yourself. Easily in my top five adult VN's of all time.
