VN - Ren'Py - Leaving DNA [Ep. 4.3a] [Impious Monk]

Pretty good demo so far a huge plus for me is the MC is actually a decent looking dude. He doesnt look 12 or 80 one of my biggest pet peeves with game creators is they make the MC ugly as hell or make it look like hes a little kid or a old man. Renders look pretty good story is off to a good start.

So its just a short demo for now, a piece of part 1. However from what it offers, I can already tell its going to be a great game. The models are good and new, not rehashed designed you see in every other game. Everyone is unique. The story so far is really strong, the settings are unique, the world looks/feels active. Plot is engaging, dialogue flow really well, the conversations and back and forth banter between characters isnt boring and makes them feel alive. Its really well written.

Anyway this is all based on the demo. Subject to change of course. But so far its great. Really looking forward to it.

I've played the Demo and must say, really good work. The Models of the Girls are most beauties and the Model of the MC is really sympathically and I can full identify with him. This is a point which is very important for me in a VN.
Story seems interesting so far.

The story is interesting. The characters aren't one dimensional flakes.
Good plot sets the stage for future updates. The characters are engaging and well thought out. They have unique personalities.
I recommend some fine tuning on the grammar, but it's not distracting from the story telling.
The female detectives body looked weird in one scene. Not distracting at all. Just my opinion.
Hopefully the dev(s) don't get bogged down with the creation and we actually get regular updates.
All in all I highly recommend giving this demo a go. There are no sex scenes at all, but it's ok because the stage is being set with the story and some dynamics between characters.
Good work so far Impious Monk. I wish the best for this VN and look forward to the journey you have laid out before us.

As someone else said ...An adult game on an Adult Board for Adults.... This one has the potential to show up at someplace like GameStop for mass commercial retail (Maybe in a few years.).

Renders are pretty darn good. One minor thing I've noticed is that the lighting seems to be a little harsh in some of the outdoor scenes where a character is sweating. This makes the Caracter look almost as plastic as a Ken or Barbie Doll.

The Sean Connery posters in the DA's office are a nice touch. So many times, all that is in a render is maybe a desk, chair, trashcan and window (For an office). This is done because adding extras for decoration makes an image longer to render and also burns more cpu power. Nice to see something a bit more professional.

I can't comment on gameplay, right now it is mostly dialogue. I think there will be 4 different semi-exclusive paths you can take and if so, I plan on having 4 distinct installs. I don't want to miss a thing. (Cue Aerosmith.)

This is definitely 1 to keep an eye on. Keeper. 9.25 out of 10.
