Hi all,

I´m creating a erotic visual novel game and would like to know a good place to find some legal disclaimer info/pictures/backgrounds to use in the start of the game. It´s an extra plus if it looks nice graphic wise and is not only plain white text on black background.

l'm assuming that all models /images are of people over legal age ie 18/21 depending on region .You don't need fancy graphics for that,Bold in your face would be better,So players know what they are entering into. A basic Disclaimer would intimate that all models / images are of the age of consent 18 in most parts of Europe, 21 in USA.

A way to overcome the different ages in different countries is to phrase ....explicit sexual content inside. Watch only if of legal age in your country.....

The problem with any disclaimer will be that laws in different countries are tricky at least. The UK i.e. requires sexual content to be behind well protected gates requiring age verification etc and i could go on. No disclaimer will really keep any law suit away if anyone really wants to sue you

Ok thanks for the information, there will be no under 18 content so that´s not a problem. Will try to find some acceptable text somewhere.

I hate to do this - but people concentrate too much on only the age. The different laws forbid specific sexual content in different countries - hell even in different states when talking about the US. Certain material is easily chargeable by a number of law enforcement agencies depending on where the material is published and/or who actually possesses it.

A good old lawyer rule is: Better not to have any statement than the wrong one. A wrong one can be used to define specific charges (note the plural here) - where the total lack of one is just one charge.

We are not even talking about weird things like bestiality or necrophilia - in many countries material containing stuff you can find on hundreds of porn sites is still deemed illegal and both the provider and owner of the material can be charged. If you want to be serious about this dont search the web but hire a real lawyer for it.
