I didn't believe it and had to check for myself. Thats pretty crazy. Does anyone know if the previous 2 LOQO games took this long to finish?
I played the first 2 games, but wasn't around for whenever they were being developed. I'm really surprised Origin is taking so long cause LOQO 2 is a really big game.
Progress was glacial on the prequels as well, but nowhere close to this one. There's a lot of obvious factors to consider here, like this game having five different art sets to choose from (and that's just the basic scene CG ones), and a shitton of superfluous stuff like all the minigames, IRL model art and whatnot. While Gabe doesn't draw art themselves, it all has to be commissioned, managed, and implemented.
HOWEVER, there is another important factor... Gabe LITERALLY lives off this game's development (they were once incredibly butthurt in a blog post that the Sw*dish government sniffed out their Patreon money-making untaxed) so they have no interest in actually finishing anything.
On a side note I'd like to be a fly on the virtual wall of the e-mail exchange where Gabe had to explain to the government that he makes a living by commissioning art for his degenerate game primarily featuring horsecocks and surreal insertions thereof.
But who am I to judge? I played the game, arguably for the story (

) . And furry art is supposedly extremely lucrative...
