I think there were some stats (possibly from pornhub, not sure), that showed that lesbian porn is very popular among women who consider themselves straight. What that tells me is there are a lot of women who just don't want to admit their true sexuality.

I wouldn't equate the 2, interest in media and interest in practice are very different. I mean, you've seen some of the weirder stuff on here. I don't think vore fans actually want to be eaten, they just find it titillating as a concept.

To lump some other comments together, stuff operating under the male gaze is (generally) self-insert wish fulfillment and centered around physical lust. Female gaze stuff is (generally) more voyeuristic and centered around emotional intimacy of the characters with the audience at a distance. If you're more privy to the latter, as a lot of queer folk are, then the literal nuts and bolts content of your porn doesn't connect to your actual physical desires nearly as much.

I'm getting disgusted by FMC games where they are not treated like women with feelings but only as holes. Lesbian games for lesbians are rare, and most bisexual fmc games are again aimed at men.

Been in a similar hunt for sapphic content for a while now- it's gonna be nothing but dating simulators the whole way down.
That said, I will take any excuse to plug The Hero's Journey. Sigh Of The Abyss, Infinite Stars and Saint Ceri are also good. The art styles are usually a giveaway. AI, generic anime or those same Daz models that are everywhere? Probably low-rent slop that'll get abandoned on v0.2. Hand drawn though? That's a sign someone actually cares.

Sure, but the fact that they find it titillating even as just a concept still indicates that their sexuality is not quite as they claim, otherwise, they wouldn't find it even titillating (rather they would be turned off by it, perhaps even find it disgusting or repellant or something similarly unappealing)

Anyway, the only game I played is this https://f95zone.to/threads/a-summers-end-hong-kong-1986-v1-3-oracle-and-bone.50786/. It's clearly written by a woman for lesbians and I loved it. I started playing similar games because I'm getting disgusted by FMC games where they are not treated like women with feelings but only as holes. Lesbian games for lesbians are rare, and most bisexual fmc games are again aimed at men. The men's obsession with thinking that lesbians think that they don't like dick but actually do or that every woman is bisexual should stop.

Mostly agree with you, but it kinda upsets me that many of male players you mentioned might have a strong, affirmative claim that IT IS ALL ABOUT MARKETS.

They would definitely say that if a lesbian game for lesbians really is THAT GOOD, then WHY DON'T THEY SELL WELL?

That's where my frustration rises-- I,sentimentally, do not agree, but I do have to sensibly admit that THEY ARE RIGHT. And that's why I now dislike many Japanese kinetic novel games so much.(or GALGAMES, specifically speaking) Few lesbian contents involved, yet a "lesbian/yuri" tag is on. Such "lesbian" content do not persuade me, for those girls are far more like "Come on, just put dicks in our holes. We are prepared". Why do they have to make out with each other rather than directly go for men? That's definitely easy.

In my country, LGBTQ+ is more like a NEGATIVE ABOMINATION in my people's mouth. However, their attitudes are quite confusing: Gays and other rainbows are wicked creatures, yet lesbian, in some straight men's opinion, are like a harem service--"Lesbians are just girls who do not know how good of making love with boys". Yes, many of them hates LGBTQ people as if a demon ascended from hell, yet they are "tolerate" with lesbian, for they can receive double pleasure.

A Bisexual and a Lesbian are two different things, lol. This is supposed to be a lesbian Protag thread not a Lesbian and Bisexual Protag thread. My original comment was mostly a joke on how rare actual lesbian games are. Most quality games with wlw are normally Protags who are bi or playersexual.

For me, it's more important that there's a path where the protagonist is just with women, then that they are canonically lesbian and not bisexual.

As I don't car if the game as straight contents if it's avoidable.

I actually am working on another project. Not a longer title but definitely a more ambitious game, with more gameplay beyond making a few choices. Planning on this one being all-lesbian as well.

so lesbians are not important, got it. As a Lesbian myself, it would be nice if there were more games that had actual lesbian protag and not just a "lesbian route" or whatever.

This kind of petty bad faith is really annoying. You can present your preference and why you like it without trying to turn someone you disagree with into a monster.

For example:
I think having the female protagonist acknowledge she only likes women is important because without that the story can leave the audience with the thought that the MC is actually bi but only going with women because they, the players, made those choices. As if she could jump a on dick at any moment if it weren't for the player's involvement rather than her actually having a preference for women as part of her character, whether it was there from the beginning or it developed because of choices.

I'm used to just taking what I can get. The majority of games that even allow us to choose to only go for women have no interest in actually providing something for people like me. Rather, they have those options as a way to add variety for straight players.

Not sure if you are misunderstanding or intentionally being intellectually dishonest, but that is not what anyone is saying. There is a huge sea of difference between something being less important and something being not important.

Sure it's great if the protag is pure lesbian, but it's also fine as well if she's bisexual but ends up with a girl at the end, and I doubt many people would lose much sleep over whether the heroine was a pure lesbian or a bisexual, since either way, her final partner is a girl (and if the game can be played 100% lesbian either way, I'm not sure most players will worry about it either).

Both are unavoidable. Personally, I would prefer it without it.
However, I see a problem, especially when it comes to avoiding depictions of male body parts, as many toys/dildos are shaped like male genitalia.

So I'm guessing it's not mandatory for the games here to avoid this (or both)?
And maybe it's just me, but the second point was a real turn-off.
