Catching up on LiL after a couple year absence. The mod's been a lifesaver, especially during the (admittedly deliberate) tedious sad Sensei phase where you're very restricted in what you can do.

Anyway, just wanted to note that I came across one issue: there was no warning or indication that Ayane needed 40 lust prior to starting the Spring Beach chain with the "Doomsayer" event. (It wasn't too bad of an issue, as one of the gods tells Sensei that 40 is needed at the start of the second event of the chain, which caused me to check and see I was only at 39, so I was easily able to rewind a couple of days and bump Ayane up to 40.)

I haven't gone through your code to see why Ayane's lust stat was being shown as (for me) simply "39" (i.e. at 39 currently, with no upcoming lust events or the next event requirements having already been met) rather than more correct "39(40)" (i.e. at 39 currently, with an upcoming lust event needing 40 to trigger).

Molly's lust10 event was properly indicated, so I think the code in general works.

Ayane's lust40 event ("As You Wish") is pretty far into the Spring Beach chain, so maybe that's the issue.

Cheers!
There are just some omissions which have been getting ignored. The big one that usually gets people is Toys, where both Makoto and Futaba need 49 lust, but only Futaba appears on the hint, and that hint only appears long after it's impossible to grind more Makoto lust. Even the white oak doors hint doesn't mention how important it is to grind more Makoto lust at that moment before it's too late.

Sorry, I somehow overlooked that you had posted this.

Looking into it, the issue is that "As You Wish" isn't actually Ayane's lust40 event and doesn't have any lust requirement to trigger.

"As You Wish" then contains a lust requirement that leads you to second, unnamed event which is the actual lust40 event. That "nesting" of the events is what caused the problem.

I'll have it fixed for the next update.

I don't know if you can say things are getting ignored when they've never been brought to my attention.

I'll look into these.

I swear someone quoted it ages ago in the main thread. I'll try to find out what I can because I know there's like 3 more issues that I haven't looked at in like 4 months.

Ah, you could be right. I haven't read the main thread in at least a year.

holy shit so I was reading through these comments and the way people talked about how this mod was "essentially neutered" got me worried. Had to scroll back some to just see it was people whinging it doesnt update until the public release.

How fucking entitled can people be. Hell, I didnt even know I was getting an early version from here (just came here to download so I could get the mod updated at the same time). And since I'm not paying - I'm more than happy to wait for the public release before getting the guide that someone spent the effort to build for free (even if updating it takes 0 effort like some suggest - it still was substantial effort to make).

Love goes out to the dev of this mod. Sorry people on here are being bitches

yep. it's always been apparent that this mod was done for the love of the game and having respect for the game's author should not come as a surprise to anyone. there is going to be a subset of people who come here because of an adversarial association they have with anyone who they see as trying to put up barriers to keep them from getting what they want when they want it. that has included paid mod creators, but also includes cckberberos for the understanding they have with selebus about timing. best to let people simmer in their own juices i guess.

I could understand what some say, because i get frustrated too when i really wanna play an update but i have to wait two weeks for public release, and i could play without it but i'm too stupid to figure things on my own. Still at the same time i understand cckerberos 's situation and patiently wait for the next release as i'm tankful we get this mod in the end and that they spend their free time to update it every time

Pay attention to the main thread on release day. Someone comes out with a walkthrough a few hours later, it's really not as bad as the loud make it out to be.

Anyone who thinks this takes zero effort is welcome to give it a go. People get so entitled over free shit.

Daeson's color mod for monochrome fantasy has the same loud, toxic subset. In that case they start whining every time the free mod hasn't updated in a while. I guess they think it's just using the fill tool in paint.

Purely out of curiosity (and respecting waiting for the public release) how long does it actually take to update the mod each time?

Generally speaking, 5 to 10 minutes. But it can be longer, especially if Selebus does something new and I have to work out how I want the mod to handle it.

maybe a bit of a stupid question, but asking anyway: does playing the game with the guide mod on a save file that previously didn't use it also "break it" and will require the mod afterwards? i've been using 2 instances of the game to avoid the potential issue, but the larger the game gets and the less i want to keep a potential 12+gb of files i can get rid of

From the FAQ on the first post.

Can I use older versions of the mod with newer versions of the game?
- Yes, though the mod won't show any information for any newer events.

Will using the mod affect my saves?
- Yes. Any saves while the mod is installed will require the mod in the future.

So you can run one copy, and keep using the mod even after updating, just won't have new content.

cckerberos I've been lazy collating and verifying these, I'm sorry. Most of these are just clarifying some "Your choice will affect future events" since we have hard examples of what to pick now with missing events.

I'll also leave a line that can be copy and pasted, trying to copy your style from the rest of the mod, though I have no idea if it'll be helpful.

Chapter 2's Main event "Forty Degrees Below Zero ( day264 ): Hint can't be clicked on, so people can't figure out you need to lie to Karin otherwise you will miss events. I don't know if the guide mod has a useful hint in it or not thanks to this.

1747882206691.png

Chapter 2's Chika event "The Gap in the Door" ( chikadate45 ): It doesn't have a hint. It should have one. You miss out on Tsukasa's Ch4 events by not thinking it's normal even if you do Holden Caulfield correctly.

Choosing "Go in. This is normal." is a requirement for future events.

1747882127192.png

Chapter 3's Chika event "Our Time Atop This Mattress" ( chikadorm45 ): Just gives vague advice. We know you miss on at least 2 Ayane events if you pick anyone else, and all the other choices have been referenced with small bits of dialogue.

Choosing Ayane is a requirement for future events.

1747882142170.png

Chapter 3's Makoto event "White Oak Doors" ( makotolust30 ): It's technically correct, but can be improved. Once you complete Beyond the Reach of God, the game will autoplay events until Makoto's dad dies and you're locked out of grinding more lust for her. This is the point of no return that you should finish grinding before.

You have until the Nodoka event Beyond the Reach of God to complete the lust requirement.

1747882185442.png

Chapter 3's Futaba event "Toys" ( makotofutabafuntimelustevent ): It doesn't appear in the hint screen early enough for people to do anything about Makoto's unlisted lust requirement of 49. Making it appear at the start of chapter 3 would work, you could also point use the same point of no return for Makoto's lust grinding as I suggested for White Oak Doors

You have until the Nodoka event Beyond the Reach of God to complete Makoto's lust requirement of 49.

1747882977692.png

Chapter 4's Otoha event "Taint the Sapling" ( otohaspring2 ): Technically there isn't a missed event, but you do miss Otoha's phone number, her 1st Photo, a large section of "Sex Dreams" (Where Rin finds out about the photo), a large section of "Sod in the Seedbed" (Where Rin confronts Otoha on the beach and it was recently referenced with Rin being super horny before calling Sensei and trying to seduce him with video. Unless Sel decides to ruin Niki's life with Otoha spreading around her nudes, we're not likely gonna get a full event missed, but there's plenty of worthy content missed out by not doing the trade, and only some little "You’re lucky I’m a good person." dialogue. I think it's fair to say it should be traded at this point.

Not sending the photo will lead to missing large amounts of content.

1747882236479.png

Chapter 4's Tsukasa event "Failsafe" ( tsukasaspring3 ): It doesn't have a hint. It should have one. You will miss a Tsukasa event if you don't Take It (The Talk) alongside the rest of her very telegraphed arc.

Choosing "Take It" is a requirement for future events.

I couldn't find the original posts with the guide mod complaints but I was able to crowdsource most of these, and I verified everything that I could. Unless my install is bugged with the Karin hint I think everything else is correct.

I was unable to figure out why "Forty Degrees Below Zero" isn't working, but the rest of these have been updated for the new version of the mod. I appreciate your effort in writing them all out here.
