VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Lewd Island [S2 Day 13 v1.00] [xRed Games]

i had played this game two years ago, it was promising, it had its charm and after a long break i'm sad to see it has become quite the bore-fest. the dialogs are not interesting or funny at all (contrary to what the dev seems to think, judging from the multitude of lame wisecracks and cringy puns), the daughter has become far too bitchy and dominant for my liking. also her banter and her command over old jargon and slang is very unrealistic for a girl her age, another thing that breaks immersion. animations are mediocre, sound except the waves crashing the shore effect is almost non-existent. story is lacking any trace of originality. secret sinister organizations and using drugs to corrupt female characters have long been overdone in adult games. since not a lot of effort had to be put into the characters' looks and the scenery always being the same, except some dream sequences, one would expect more from other departments. at its current stage however, the game is a disappointment.

Starting off, I have a soft spot for this female character model because of DMD. You can't use it and not have the inevitable comparisons especially with the genre of this game.
When I play a game I try not to immediately disregard it because it has fetishes or kinks I don't personally enjoy and also try to take each game as what it is and how it's developed.
I will do my best not to heap on my personal expectations on a game I'm not in any way developing just because it's not being made how "I" prefer. The characters are who they are, the story is how it is and all I can do is see if I can enjoy it for what it is.

That being said... (spoilers ahead).

TL;DR - Takes some getting used to but it develops nicely and the characters seem to have depth - even if they may not 'behave' how people complain they should. The 'spiked' drinks are a nice touch for development and although I'm annoyed at the cliffhanger I want to learn more of the story and . That, the animations and the slow but powerful buildup between the MC and Bella really works well if you're looking for a game with a good mix between story and sex scenes. If you do the right things you can even get some very juicy scenes faster than you would have thought.

This is a really great game and I'm patiently waiting for season 2.
Yes, development times aren't all that pleasant but I think it's worth waiting for.

The characters become more and more fleshed out and even though Bella is a completely spoiled bitch in the beginning she develops throughout the story. The MC is well.. You, you goddamned pervs, so of course there's no real development.
In the beginning I thought there was no story going to be involved with this game and that it would be a simple seduce your 'roomie' day by day until you succeeded and tapped that voluptuous ass. Thankfully there were subtle hints dropped here and there (I have my own theories as to what happened to the MC and Bella) and it's developed in an interesting direction.

Visually I'm impressed. I like the animations and you can see some real effort is put into some of them in the later chapters at about Day 7 I believe (if not a bit earlier but I can't fully recall) - I really like the one of Bella winking at you. It's sweet and unexpected but really endearing giving her more depth so she's not some cock-hungry slut which you can find in plenty of other games.
And believe me those are fun as well but Bella is her own version of.. Well.. cock-hungry slut but with a good heart and seriously tsunami-style vagina. I mean damn! She's wetter than the fucking ocean around them! Or is it a sea? I wasn't paying attention because of dat ass.

I actually got used to the sound of the waves and at times it was a little-bit jarring when the sound stopped for dreams or "meanwhile" scenes. etc. Did the developer put in some post-hypnotic sounds and suggestions into that white noise? It probably says things like, "Be patient! Releases are coming!"

Overall I like this game. The first few days I think are kind of boring but only when I was playing through them. Now that I got past them and finished this season I can see how they subtly build up the story, situation, mental development (and I guess physical as well) of the relationship between MC and Bella.
Lots of little touches of foreshadowing here and there which I like and get my noggin' a joggin' with what's going on and where things are leading.
And I think I'm done there. Overall I really suggest trying it out and getting to at least Day 7. Do yourself a favour and get to Day 10 for some feels and then crushing, crushing pain.
It's not what you want - for that you'll need to make your own game - but if you play it for what it is, accept the world and the characters for who they are (try some of that suspension of belief thing you do when you watch anime or Netflix or movies or read or fantasize in your mind) then you will be pleasantly surprised by how good it can get.

Now to find patience for season 2. What do you think, sissy HTML games or ntr VisNovs? Eh maybe both.

Potential for a great visual novel. Early on the author had ridiculous moments, but there was an improvement between Chapter 6 to 10. However(!), it has taken 2 years to do 3 scenes with the girl, lots of short releases and very far between. Hard to recommend to support on Patreon as I think there are lots of options for the same sort of genre (IE Perv Daddy wants to bang Daughter) to choose from with the same average renders. Not only that, the author has now released the game as a season after 2 years. Last I understood a season is one years worth of production. Hard to comprehend, hope the best for the creator and stopped any support on Patreon.

EDIT:
I tried Season 2 of the game. I will maintain my previous score. Seems like the dev has fallen back to old ways of short releases at long intervals. I will say that between days 7 to 10 the dev did put work in and produced lots of content. I know some people do this as a second job, but a bit of communication goes a long way.

Unfortunately, what is more disappointing is the quality of renders is worse now due to what appears to be poor lighting, material/texture setup and low samples/over use of denoiser. It would be great if the dev got back on track to his last few releases in Season 1 where you could see they were improving their quality.

This new season has branched off to a yacht with some new faces and no longer on the island. Shame, because this could have been lewd "Lost" where new characters could have been introduced progressively to the island where you could try to manage multiple love interests, corruption or sharing routes, all while trying to figure out why you are on this island.

I hate to be harsh, but the rest of the characters are just awful. The silly green haired dude, the cheesy tattoos on the captain and those ugly side chicks, all look to be rushed character designs. The one blonde girl looks fine, but the rest just ruin it.

In terms of story, its too early for season 2 to judge. The dev decided to add some cheating which naturally causes debates. Personally, I would have preferred a share/corruption option instead of what was implemented.

At least its not abandoned though and I wish the dev luck to keep going.

I quite like it. To be honest, I was quite skeptical about this game but it is well-written, and the story keeps you, at least, interested. It made me smile quite a few times but also had a good balance to keep the attractiveness of adult-games at a high enough level.

I can't decide if I like this or not. It's been in development for an age but what there is leaves you feeling there should be more. It's certainly not unpleasant but as I play I'm kinda left wondering if there should be more, like I'm not getting back any reward for the effort I'm putting in to sit and play it.

The renders are not bad but the whole story is a bit meh. Basic premise is you survive a plane crash with your *whatever* and you have to survive but apart from some forks in dialogue which don't appear to alter the thread of the narrative, there doesn't appear to be much in the way of choice so you can't really impact your survival chances. So it feels very railroaded which is fine if there was plot to back it up but there doesn't appear to be a lot here.

The characters are a bit light on depth and suffer from that age old problem of going from apparently normal to "sex starved maniacs" within 3 days of game time. But they don't do anything about it, they just sorta have a lot of internal monologue about why they're feeling this way. They certainly haven't by day 5 or 6 but given their process I'm sure they'll be talking about having kids and settling down by day 8.

It is a surprisingly good game, with a lot of possibilites left unexplored or otherwise not addressed.

The female character in this, is very like-able aside from being very physically attractive.
If your going to develope some kind of story it's important to at least try to make the characters relateable or like-able and they have done a good job with that.

The graphics are great, some of the best in the genre so far.
The writing is not bad, particularly if you consider that the bulk of persons developing these games are not speaking english as their first language.

I would love to see more free-form type exploration of this world, there is a lot of things that could be added to flesh this out even more. Re-playability is limited.

Blowing daugther

I find some reviews out there very unfair, they probably played it superficially skipping most of the dialogues and missed out part of the plots and relationship building that would have explained what did not make sense in their mind. Or they just stopped at early stage.

To be honest, in the first days of the game, I was thinking that this game was a 3 stars one, with good renders, good setup but kinda boring and hollow with choices that don't matter (which truth to be told, is the case most of the time)

Around day 5-6, I realized that the plot was more complex than it seemed, and the relationship with your girl was a bit deeper and plausible than it seemed. I thought ok, maybe this game is 4 stars afterall.

But no, I was still wrong. The following days did surpass my expectations, the animations which were already good, became top notch after every new day. The secret underneath that island is becoming clearer but yet still mysterious. The actions that have seemed not very logical in the first days, got some sense. The relationship between the 2 main characters is cute, aggressive, humorous, flirtly : to sum up : enjoyable.

This game might looks simple minded but it is not. The incest thing might be a turn off for some, but it is not heavily focused on that, you can make it look like a 20 yrs girl / 35 yrs man relationship, and it will work as well.

Trust me, this is a good game, if you just give it the chance to go through the 5 first days.

Although it is a very classic Daz model, the girl is sexy and cute. I like her personality overall. Some disagree, but personaly, I found the MC quite convincing.

Looks simple, some will even say stupid, but it is not. It comes out little by little, just follow and have fun, things will make sense with time.

Very high quality animations and renders. You will find them already good in the early stage of the game, but it will step up even more on the later stages. I let you imagine.

Although the gameplay is nothing special, the contents are good. The first days will go quite quickly, but then there will be more action, dreams, and scenes. You will want to try the different routes as the scenes are quite worthy most of the time

It's a decent game that can be hot at points. This dev seems to like dabbling in the taboo of incest for quite a bit, but taking forever to get into actual intercourse.

The renders are average. The setting is unique though the story is familiar without being too overdone.

My biggest gripe with the game comes from looking at the walkthrough. I don't mind VNs that don't have a lot of choices as they can be interesting, but when you walkthrough basically consist of "pick whatever" for almost a vast majority of choices, things get annoying. Most of the choices that do make a difference are basically only for different renders. There are relatively few choices that actually matter. I'm fine with that, it is just a pet peeve of mine to have to click a choice in VN where there is a single choice or choices that change nothing but maybe a single text box.


Overall, I would recommend it as it was enjoyable, just go in knowing there will be some bad points.

The game is enjoyable but it's a thematic mess.

The renders and animations are great, the overall writing is good, but the character motivations and dialogue barely make any sense, especially with the MC.

It's a middle aged father being written as your stereotypical 16 year old incest game protagonist with constant "oh no, I can't do this, she's my sister/mother/daughter" even after you already crammed your dick down her throat multiple times and used drugs to make her more compliant, which just seems schizophrenic.

There's a fine line in incest games between not seeming to care enough about the taboo, which makes it too unrealistic, and dwelling too much on it, especially if you are already engaging in sexual acts on a constant basis.

This game has some of the most tired and unnecessary "oh no, I shouldn't" monologues I've ever seen. Extra points for the MC literally stuttering like some shy anime character all the time.

That being said the sex scenes save this from actually being terrible. The dev is a lot better at writing sex than he is at cringy expository dialogue. The problem is that the sex scenes clash with the rest of the game. You have choices and all of them are hot and worth seeing, but the problem is that pretty much all of them contradict the rest of the MC's actions.

During sex you can be dominant, to the point of choking, spanking, calling your daughter a whore, etc, but you go straight back to acting like a shy schoolboy the next day and it's incredibly jarring.

Also, the way the main plot is introduced is terribly handled with way too long dream sequences that made me go "why am I here, when do I get to go back to the island with my daughter?" Sex scenes with characters you barely get introduced to don't really do much for me.

Not bad but far from good!

Story 5.5/10: Right, I'm sure if you've read my other reviews you might have concurred that I'm a sucker for literature. I adore stories and adventures through the art that is English... However, that isn't how I felt after partaking in this game.
The story is very boring, the only thing it really does is set itself up for a sex scene or dialog. However, there was a little bit when the MC is on some pirate boat that did pique my interest which is why I changed my rating from a 4.5/10 to a 5.5/10 . For an incest game, it doesn't lend itself well to the whole "But, shes my daughter" conundrum. It's really not that difficult!
To conclude: In words I would rate this story as: "Oh, look, I forgot to flush!"

Renders 6/10: Meh, I'll be honest with you, they're okay... Nothing special really. Hardly above average. If you're looking for average renders then I believe that this game was made specially for thou!

Animations 5/10: Talk about average! How crestfallen I felt when this game failed to hit the mark. The animations are nothing to be proud of. Now, I'm someone who thinks that animations are a must and have to be decent. These are okay but they just lack that spice, that kick.

Originality: 7/10: I would like to comment on the game's plot. The game is set on a 'Deserted' Island (One hut with some water and canned food, YUM!). I would say that I don't see many games going down this route despite it being quite a obvious route to go down... Henceforth, I would like to add 1+ to the total score!
To conclude: In words I would rate the originality: "Other games, take note! Pretty original for an Adult game!

Personal thoughts:
While playing through the game I did get that feeling of potential... Notice the past tense? Yeah... I don't think so anymore. I feel that this game is moving in a certain direction that is set in stone. I don't feel as if I will revisit it until completion, due to me not wanting to waste my time when I could be getting off to Kim Possible or something sketchy like that...
However, I feel that if the Dev were to make a new game, and to brand it as new (Eg: No incest, something different) then I would definitely check it out!

I really like this game but if I want to be fair I have to give a 3 star rating due to the issues with the save files. Thank God I didn't have that problem with the last update, but honestly I don't even remember how many times I had to replay because my saves led to errors. Other than that it's a quite simple story. Father-Daughter get stranded on an island and they start to develop feelings for each other. I really like the renders and the writing, although it has some room for improvement, it's in no way bad and it's constantly getting better. I like the fact that there's a backround story with the "aphrodisiac" alcohol bottles and there are hints of hesitasion in some cases, so it's not just a "lets drink this, it made us horny, lets fuck" storyline. If there wasn't the issues with the save files I'd give this game 4 stars for sure. I feel bad for the 3 stars since I find this game better than average, but unfortunately there isn't a 3,5 star rating. If it gets even better in the future updates and I don't have any more issues with the save files, I might change it to 4 stars.

I finally played this one and am very pleasantly surprised. This game had mixed opinions over the course of its development which put it on the back burner for me. I would have liked to play fully to the end before writing the review, but there was a scene that had me bust a nut so I stopped for now at the end of day 7. This in itself is incredibly rare for me these days because I cant remember the last game on this site other than extremely depraved japanese games that let me bust a nut.

Let me get to the best thing about this VN first. The dialogue during the scenes are amazingly hot. The dev knows how to write scenes. The animation and renders are quite good, but what sets apart porn games from porn videos is the dialogue. This game succeeds in this department with flying colors. You won't see the run of the mill grunting and wordless vanilla sex here. The game is a pretty slow burn, but I think the game is near the point where things will start to pick up pace.

There is a very interesting plot regarding the island's mysterious owners and their experiments. This also opens up the possibility of using said experimental substances to go down dark paths, although I am not sure if the dev will fully indulge in that possibility.

The renders are quite good. The model popularized by DmD is a hot one. The pacing might have seemed too slow in the early stages of development when you had to wait for updates. When you play it in one or two sittings, it seems just about right though.

Now for some negatives. I think in the earlier stages of development, most of the game was trying to keep the daughter from committing suicide. There was a sanity stat that would be affected by your responses to her. AFAIK, she would die unless you absolutely coddle her at every opportunity. There was lots of complaints and it was taken out which was the right move. Unfortunately, like 95% of the choices in this game were probably dealing with that sanity and with the stat gone, almost none of your choices matter. That in itself is fine. I like being able to choose responses for the sake of roleplay. The problem is that the game becomes wildly inconsistent in the way you treat the girl if you pick the asshole responses. Presumably, all the angry responses would have lowered her sanity and got her killed, so the writing in between those choices mostly reflect a kind MC personality. This could probably be smoothed out eventually when the game is complete.

Another complaint I have is that some of the dream sequences are way too long and takes you out of the flow of the game completely. I suspect these seemingly random dreams will tie into the mystery of the island later, but that one dream on the boat was way too long.

Overall, this is a fantastic game. 1 star was subtracted due to the mentioned inconsistencies in dialogue and general disposition towards the girl if you choose the mean daddy responses.

It's a bit of a slower burn and the assets aren't entirely unfamiliar, but it works. I really like the main love interest and the chemistry shines in this game like in few others. If you like the provided genres, this one may satisfy you far more than you'd think. Personally, I admit to only really be interested in the 2-3 darker scenes that I keep replaying, though

The plot and renders are great even if characters al straight rip offs from other games.

The dialogue on other hand just feels manufactured and forced to me and the attempts at humor and flirting are cringeworthy.

There is massive character inconsistency and a strange sub/dom vibe where writer cant quite decide who has which role. The whole father trying everything to reconcile with daughter then treating her as a worthless cumdump (both verbally and physically) every time they get intimate totally ruins h scenes for me. Then using the drugs on daughter (again after he supposedly giving u everything to focus on saving relationship with daughter) is beyond ridiculous as is the whole guilt afterwards because this wasn't something that spur of moment but a premeditated drug rape that could have been averted so many times its not funny.

I was extremely uncomfortable with degradation, forced sex and drug rape been romanticised in this way.

Once again we have a total creepoid MC and even though supposedly inexperience a cumdump slut as daughter.

This game has been a roller coaster ride. Initially in the early development this game had some SERIOUS flaws!!! But it always had an awesome premise and some of the best visuals on this site and I'm glad I stuck with it because this is easily one of the TOP 5 games on this site. The low ratings from other reviews are from initial development or else it would be much more popular.

PROS
- Graphics. Literally good enough to be a standalone movie if you combined all the animated scenes.
- AGAIN. BJ scene is INSANE!!
- Dialogue is fantastic
- D is an absolute win!!
- Dev heard all the initial complaints and changed the game drastically
- Well written characters. Really apparent since they are isolated and are the main cast. Very difficult to achieve.
- Limited point and click but no BS grind. No repetitive scenes or choices. Every day in this game is different.

CONS
- Updates are always short and feel as if the Dev is stretching the game a bit thin
- Creepy date rape vibe with the drugs involved. NO SPOILERS
- Not a fan of the dream sequences or the supernatural elements surrounding the island. I would suggest just sticking to a Cast Away story.
- Hard to believe within 9 days things would happen so quickly, Unless the D secretly wanted the MC all along before the accident.

For me this is a good game with (now) likeable characters.
Yes, the daughter was a bit "bitchy" in the beginning, but now the buildup of the
relationship of both main characters make´s it even more interesting.
