Ren'Py - Life as an Innocent Waitress [v0.4.1] [Frisson Studios]

Nice Story whit a lovely gameplay. The gameplay in the bar is fun and easy not boring if evolve in this way. The internet stuff on modelling is also nice and the public train is very good. Please continue to work it . Still a little early but I would like to see moreeee soon.

Wanted to see what all the glazing was about, and still kind of wondering what the glazing is all about. I'd imagine it's because there have been so many disappointing attempts at this genre of game that people feel extremely excited whenever a new one pops up. Anywho, on to the review.

The Good:

• For what appears to be models made in Honey Select 2, the female character doesn't look as samey as other HS2 games I've seen. I kept having to go back and forth as to whether it actually was HS2 or not, so well done.
• On that same note, Angel is actually very attractive.
• The dev says there's a Pure route, which will be harder to accomplish but possible.

The Bad:

• The "Pure" route, as it stands, is actually kind of impossible, and literally everything in the game is tied to making money through corruption. I wouldn't be commenting on this if it wasn't suggested in the game, but you're pretty much railroaded into corruption, as the alternative is missing every single one of your rent payments. Taxi rides are expensive, repairing locks is insanely expensive, even if you get the half off skill upgrade, and you really don't have the money to buy an energy drink if you're trying to be "Pure" and lower rent by cleaning the house, because you're already going to be struggling enough making regular payments.
• Angelina herself acts as if her entire life began the moment you pressed "New Game", and that she hasn't already been living for 19 years. She freaks out whenever any male exhales in her general direction, and treats her relatives (yes they're her relatives, shut up) like she just met them yesterday. At this point, I'm convinced she's high functioning autistic.
• Locks. The game says Gregory will repair the locks if you wait a few days, but I swear it's been 5 days and they're still broken. A "Pure" route, or even a "I just kind of don't feel like being molested right now tbh" route requires locks, which you can get additional charges (the tooltip is worded awkwardly) by leveling up the skill, which you can get skill points by studying. Then once the lock gets jammed you get the privilege of paying one of your limbs to fix it, or half of one of your limbs at level 4.
• I know it says more skills will be added in the future, but if you're going for corruption, you can pretty much completely ignore all skills in the current version. But if you're trying to stay "Pure", you NEED skill points, but you can't really afford spending the energy studying, because you also need that energy to cook, clean, and work.

inb4 "Why are you trying to be pure in a corruption game?"

I always do a chaste/virgin/pure save and a gaping whore save, just to compare the two. Some games actually offer some pretty neat content for keeping in your pants. If this game never suggested that a Pure route could be done, I wouldn't be here bitching about it. If they remove that line of dialogue and replace it with "You'll become a drooling slut no matter what, but you can somewhat determine the speed of your descent", I'd be like "Thank you have a nice day" and adjust my review accordingly.

tl;dr: Pure route isn't viable in any way, Angelina is a hot autist, and I'm willing to update my review as new versions come out.

I am very enthusiastic about this early release. This game does a lot of things right in showcasing the corruption of our heroine, as well as making it into a proper game (in the sense that the player can take gameplay decisions to slow down her descent). The grind, while present, makes sense in context and importantly, tools are given to the player to reduce it, hence a sense of progression.
Many elements are marked as in future updates, such as interaction with the not-brothers and expanded skills (currently, there are no skills related to bar service) and alternative uniforms. This rating is a vote of confidence, we will see this realizes its potential as a truly rich and fun corruption game.

This game is great for corruption fans and fans of the bar scenario. There are many animations and scenes that are varied enough to not feel extremely repetitive. I like the gameplay loop. What I don't like is how almost everyone is trying to bang her. It feels like she's the only woman in this world and her being stuck in a flat full of pervs is a bit extreme in my oppinion.
Keep your eyes on this game! It's already amazing and can only get better from here.

It seems like a game with potential, although there is little content and copies of corruptiontown. But the author should be warned that further content is under developmemt. It will be respectful to save some time gamers

honstly, for an initial release yes there is stil to be much done but, if the game is really going on the path it is saying it is going, it's going to be one hell of a game, i read in a comment that there are only 2 guys working on it, dudes you two are one hell of creators, i mean you took alot of what has been asked for ages in alot of communities (mostly reddit and here that i know of) about a good waitressing games, with slow corruption and new events, and you do the waitressing and the mini games, guys good job keep the good work, and be creative as much as you can gg.

Loving it so far, well paced, slow paced without feeling too grindy, gradually opening up new events. Looking forward to new development.

The main character is cute and well made model. The writing is fine and interesting.

A few minor bugs in speaking character not being correct, but well made game.

I forgot to rate... Anyway, great game so far, I'm into this corruption stuff and this game is doing it well so far. Love the whole setting of a waitress slowly giving in to the advances.

Good amount of content for a first release, very promising. No real complains from me as of now.

This game ticks all of my boxes, so....young Frisson Studios, I will watch (and obsess over) your game development with great interest.

If you like harassment/groping scenes, this game is totally for you. I'm normally not into HS2 render, but Angel is hot as hell.

Spectacular Game, 3d games are not my cup of tea, but there are some exeptions: this game. I hope the updates are awesome, cuz there is a lot of potential. Some of the current things that can be improved are the grinding (not by a lot), the of-like section, and the things around the house.

What an excellent 0.1 release. The only thing i'd ask is if you could document in the main post what content currently is in the game.
I spent hour+ grinding stats up only to find that nothing changes. Would really help during the early phase of the game!

Also the tip economy certainly needs to be better. I was encouraging everything and staying at tables, yet i could barely make 20~ per day, while the weekly ask is much much higher eventually.

I am typically a lurker on f95zone but when I saw this suspiciously 5-star rated game across the board, I decided to try it.. and well.. I don't think this game deserves all this praise just yet..

There is too much praising and buttering up the creator, and the more you do it, the more likely they are going to get on a high horse. The game is in its infancy, do not mistake it.. we are at the beginning of the race but everyone on this website is praising it as if this is a completed game with a lot of content.. and it finished at the first place in the race

Speaking of content, I would agree to an extent that it is slightly above average, but it is nowhere near praiseworthy. The train and the bar are the only moving pieces in the story, the rest are static and stay exactly the same every single time. Cooking, shower, nights, cleaning.. all these don't have anything sexy happening. The college doesn't even exist bro..

Think about it.. There are exactly two Locations where the female protagonist can visit that have sexy parts. The bar and the house. That's it. The subway train is a temporary place where there can be sexy scene, but nothing else apart from this is fleshed out or praiseworthy just yet. There are no other Locations, and no one seems to exist apart from the female protagonist and her family. There are no other NPCs either.

Does this mean the game doesn't deserve any recognition? False. It can be a good game.. only when it sees it through a few years of dedication, hardwork and commitment.. Not blatant illogical loyalty and cult like following for doing the bare minimum.

The only way this game will improve is when the creator stays humble and has humility. If you inflate anyone's ego like a balloon and expect it not to burst after a certain extent, you are wrong. Creator needs to take feedback both good and bad, but if you needlessly post 5-star reviews without any critical thinking, it will make him ignore all the criticism and just listen to his echochamber.

This is still at 0.1 and I would rate it 5 when it reaches 5.0 or 10.0. Do not be blinded by future possibilities.. judge the game for what it is RIGHT NOW.. and right now? it is not a masterpiece that can be rated 5-star. Maybe it is a rough diamond that needs work.. Only time will tell the future of this game.

Very enjoyable game, it is moving slowly which makes it more believable to the extent we can call those things believable. Dialogue could use some work.
I cant wait for future updates to try more of the story and the interactions.

You thought HS2 graphic is outdate, right.
I don't even think about this game for a bit, especially for 0.1 version.
And after somehow try it, that's exact thing I want from a molest - corruption kind of game.
He try to combine all those good thing from *all those good games* we know and make it unique. And it work, hope your game find success.

Excellent game, to the point I had to fund it cause I get scared that it will get abandoned like much of these types of games do. its so rare for these type of games to exist nowadays. hopefully the creator keeps at is and not abandon it like other have with this type of game direction

Since I played this game, I can't play anything else. I got addicted to the visuals, the story and especially the gameplay. You have done an outstanding first release.
If you keep up this work, your about to create a masterpiece.

It's literally a game that's close to perfection in my opinion. I loved the story. There aren't many games of this quality in the genre of trying to make money and working as a waitress. Please continue to develop this game. You can add different events to the story without rushing. For example, if I think we're going to college, maybe you can enrich the story with some nice events and developments there or different events at work. Keep it up bro <3

Cool focus waitress game, hope to see frequent update as there is still minor content atm. some events but still early in developmment so don't expect much

Life as an Innocent Waitress is a sandbox game based around the life of Angelina, a poor, innocent, and a maiden in a dystopian world full of pervs.

TLDR; The game sets the bar pretty high, but leaves a lot to desire when it comes to the amount of content that can be expected in an update and the timelines for new version releases.

The gameplay loop consists of going to college, cleaning around the house, travelling inside a train, working at the bar, and returning home again.

Since it's the very first release, I won't go too deep into the game itself, but I'd like to point out some things that could be improved or signs of concern or predictions if you will.

► The college serves no purpose yet. It's merely a dialogue. There is no introduction to the college, and the MC simply starts attending the classes from day one.

Even if there aren't any plans to implement it, there should be some repeatable events that occur with Angel. Stuff like Bullies that harass Angel, grope and finger her, etc. Stuff like catcallers that harass Angel because she's beautiful and they want her number. Stuff like Perverts that capture and sell images of Angel and increase the chances of getting harassed at the college.


► Train molestation is amazing, but it needs some more variety. For instance, some molesters only target her breasts and focuses on upper part of her body. Some early ones could include light petting where the pervert isn't focused on undressing her but enjoying her body through her clothes. Some molesters could be borderline rapists that don't care about Angels' protests and undress her completely without asking.


► Angel should protest a molester's fingering since she's a virgin... or at least the beginning when she isn't as corrupted. The perverts should always acknowledge her hymen and her being a virgin... this leads to smack talk, and it also increases the chances that the pervert would want to take her virginity right there. Angel should also have a lot more internal thoughts about her virginity and hymen and saving her first time.

► The introduction outfit was perfect and 10/10. Sadly, it got swapped for painfully generic clothes that we've seen countless times over in other games. There is a lore reason for this, being summertime, but that intro outfit is certainly one of the hottest ones I've seen and needs to return at some point.

►Lastly, a major worry of mine—Censorship.

Frission Studios is based on Patreon, and that platform is known to force censorship amongst adult developers. Sadly, the dev has accepted that there will not be any non-consensual encounters, blackmail, rape, or any sort of sexual harassment in the game. It was very disappointing to hear... and I hope it doesn't get any worse.
