Oookay, to carry over from what I started on the Girl's Journey page, the reason I mentioned it over there, but not over here is because I feel like saying "the game seems purposeless after awhile" is a dumb thing to say about a game that's still in development (especially to the dev), but it could be useful information to someone interested in playing the game. I know you were joking, but it wasn't really meant as a criticism ;).

As far as potential suggestions, or discussions, centered around what I said, I've got plenty of ideas that I'd be happy to share but really they hinge on what direction, specifically what end, you want to take this. Based on what you've said about this game on the first post here and also on your Patreon page, we (those playing) will have the ability to shape her narrative, but my experiences have shown that all roads lead to prostitution :sneaky:. Which I'm fine with, but maybe would prefer it if it were only a couple of roads, not all of them. Bear in mind that whatever I'm saying or suggesting is purely based on how my experiences have played out and I haven't tried different approaches to see if I got a different outcome, yet, so I could be uninformed about certain things.

Looking at your road map it seems like 08.8 and 08.9 could provide a needed sense of balance and create different opportunities and possibilities for her, but that's just conjecture since some of the things that I think would help may or may not be a part of those updates.
Yeah purpose is needed in order to play the game I agree. Though you could argue that the purpose could be to find all the smut right? Take for example one of the games that is generally regarded as pretty damn good; GGGB. Great game with a ton of options and 'hidden' stuff, requiring I dunno how many play-through's. But does it really have a purpose, other than finding the smut? I don't think so, and I believe most games here have 1 main purpose; find the smut. And do so by either be good, bad, submissive etc etc.

That being said, I am planning and working on purpose, a goal in my game. So far two out of the four jobs have a good path (read: where you can evade the pitfalls). My goal is to finish those paths and make them viable storyends. But not just a simple end. For example my idea for the Library is:
- Lizzy is on the good path, avoided Zack and Willem and continues to work there. At a certain point Patricia will tell her that in order for her to keep paying her and not to get into trouble paying someone on a daily basis in cash, Lizzy will need to actually start to work there; get a contract. But she can only do that if she has a Social security number which she must get at the local municipality. She will need to pay for a few things in order to get that. Once all that is there, She can get the job. With the job a steady income and with the steady income she will be able to find a proper place to stay in and live happily ever after.

Now a few issues with the above obviously are:
1) WTF where is the fun part?! Where is my smut dear developer!?
2) Grind sucks! BOOOOOOHHH we want smut
3) etc

Anyway, when Amsterdam is finished, my goal is to have several of these good paths. Some will lead to her own place, some maybe a relationship or a sugardaddy or something like that. Actual goals to end the game if people so desire to do so. Obviously another goal is to make the game big enough for people to simply keep on playing without ever ending it and starting over.

Hopefully the above is a proper reply to your post! :)

Cheers

For the record:
1) I think GGGB is an awesome game so nothing bad about that game from my side at all!
2) I know it wasn't meant as criticism. I was just replying as a joke as I happened to spot your post by chance.
3) I don't think there is anything bad about the purpose 'finding the smut'. I was just using it as an argument.

Edit: I guess that even if I finish those good paths and get them working the goal of the game would never be; Guide Lizzy from her first arrival in Amsterdam to her happily ever after life and avoid all smut. It probably still be 'find the smut' haha

@BurningSun, Bug - Yoga is impossible to do in v0.8.6.3. Having both the "Running Pants" item (aka Gym Clothes in inventory) and the Yoga Mat--both of which are purchasable from the Mall--will not allow the MC to do Yoga in the Park anymore. I've confirmed this bug when comparing it to the previous version, v0.8.6.2, of the game. Also, now I finally see what you meant about the "Update Button", lol.

I just tested it and it works? Are you getting the option at all or not? Do you have running shoes? You need the shoes.

Lol regarding the button :D Thought it was pretty clear haha

This is very true. After I made my post I decided to through the images just to see what I was missing and holy hell, there is much smut to be found, ha, which is a good thing. It's hard for me to play games like this and not consciously measure them up to Girl Life and the main reason is because of how much time I sank into that game, despite its flaws. You're right that nearly every game is just getting to the good stuff, but what a lot of these games lack is replay-ability. I've played so many games on here and thought, well that's that then and never bothered with them again because there's nothing left once you've found the smut, no real reason to continue playing.

About GGGB, the fun in that particular game, for me anyway, is that you want to play it multiple times because you want to see how different paths play out and there's a lot of variation, sometimes too much so and I get to the point where I can't figure out what the hell I did to end up getting a specific event, lol.

I'm glad you mentioned the social security thing because I feel like her being an illegal immigrant was a great built-in conflict so it's nice that you're planning on leaning into that at some point.

Everything you've said is exactly what I was hoping to see, so that's awesome. Thanks for taking the time to lay it all out there, I appreciate it.

Do you have running shoes? You need the shoes.
*Facepalms* Pfft, bloody hell. That appears to be it. You're right; my fault.

Was doing a bug hunt earlier (as a player and never looking at the code) and was using a previous version save within that version and was comparing PT, physical training, stuff to a save in the current version. I must of got things crossed. The earlier save already had the shoes in inventory, and the current one didn't. I just didn't "complete" the "pants-shoes-mat" set to make the yoga option to appear.

Re: Girl Life - I played it quite a bit before and it's a fun game. Requires extensive note-taking at times, lol. However, it's also very bulky and often has shallow and unfinished (or abandoned) story elements/paths/ideas. Could do with some trimming; in fact, I'd cull huge segments out of the game wholesale such as magic, or the Transformation start, or the ungodly level of clicks required to complete basic hygienic and food needs as a start. It would tighten the game up significantly and refocus the game on more of the fun bits instead of the tedious parts. (See spoiler.) Playing it shouldn't be a chore. Sometimes less is more.

Want to shower?
"Um, yes?"
Click here. What type of shower--quick or thorough?
"Err, quick?"
Cool. Click this first option.
"Okay..."
BAM! You're done!
"Well alright then. Huzzah!"

Pretty straight-forward and has enough details for a life sim including if you want to use premium, store-bought hygiene items or not. And all of it completed without having to take half a dozen clicks to just reach the restroom. An optical mouse, a laptop touchpad, or a mobile device only has finite amount of clicks in it. (^^')

The biggest problem, which I mentioned elsewhere is that the two main devs have to rely a ton on community-sourced people to help them with the game. Those people come in, write a few things and then disappear so certain things make it into the game only to not be picked up again. Those ideas remain in the game with the hope that maybe another random person will want to finish it, but no. The game is way too kinky to be put up on Patreon, and the fact that it was someone else's game to begin with might be the reason why it's free. Anyway, I'm just glad Kevin and co. continue to work on it even though there's nothing really in it for them, so I can't judge 'em too harshly.

The TF or Cursed Schoolgirl starts are just options though, I only play the normal schoolgirl start. I rely heavily on the cheats so I turn off all of the features I don't like, but yeah, the amount of clicking that you have to do is stupid as hell. It's a chore just getting from Sveta's apartment to Pavlosk. I do enjoy how Life Choices is far more streamlined in the regards that you mentioned, though I'd like to see a relationship type of mechanic in this game, similar to Girl Life's.... but maybe not full of people phone spamming you every day.

-Open Life Choices HTML with text editor.
-Search for " $StatCash -= 115 " <--- This is the value and price for the ipod at the store.
-Change value to the amount you want " $StatCash -= -xxxx "

Important that you add the "-".
ex. " $StatCash -= -10000 "

I hope this made sense.
how to find the cash to edit it please reply

I think I found a bug, not sure if it's been reported yet. After working at the flower shop, it gave me the option to either walk home or take the bus at the 23:36 mark. I chose the bus but the only options available were the beach or to head back to "Flower" (which was in red). Choosing "Flower" gives you the following:

Error: the passage "Flower" does not exist

And then I'm forced to restart the game from a save because there are no options to get out of that screen otherwise.

Hey Ocha,

This has indeed been reported before. There is no link in the game that says 'Flower', however there is a location called 'Flower' which is the flower job. Normally as soon as you are done there, the Location should change to Amsterdam north and then in stead of the 'Flower' link (which was now red) you would get the 'Amsterdam North' link. Something obviously went wrong and this issue was present in V0.8.6.1 and was fixed in V0.8.6.2.

Could you please double check if you are playing with the latest version or not? Hopefully you are playing with an older version. If that is the case, simply save your current game to disk. Download the latest version and load the save game from disk and the problem should be gone, unless you have saved right there when the error occurred.

Cheers

Hey @BurningSun how u doing?
I wanted to ask you something about my progress:
I thing I have completed most of the game or everything indeed, being this:
-All job ends: Flower shop, Library, Maids and Donnys Studio, good and bad (ex the maid slave or the porn actress), with their different sooner dead ends ex: getting deported at maid job.
-All Henry favors and sex with him, the other girl who fucks Henry is not working more that the random event at beach right?
-Dead ends: Loan Shark path, Truck drivers.
Is there any finale I'm missing? Since the Pole Dance Club and the Red Light district are not working yet, neither pregnancy.
Or I'm goo as this current version and have left nothing else to do?
Thanks for ur response.

Hey SkyHard,

I'm doing well thank you. Spring is around the corner which always helps to lift my spirit. Hope you are doing well too.
I'll try and answer your questions below;
- Do you know that the library as 3 routes? 2 bad and 1 good? (all good paths of the jobs are unfinished at this time).
- Correct. For now, Bibi is only 1 random encounter at the beach & a link to unlock Henry.
- There are in total 10 endings and some have 2 different variations. Most notable difference I’d say would be ending number 9 where 9A is a ‘positive’ ending and 9B a negative one.
- Sounds like you’ve done most of the big stuff.

I can't seem to have the spa appear at the northern end of the city...what is the problem?
Is it imperative to discover the spa? I don't have the option for it.
Hey halorea,

It is not imperative, but if you don't have access to it, it does lock out some content.
You can discover the Spa a few ways;
-Find the flyer on the message board in the hotel entrance
-Find it through a random encounter when walking to and from Amsterdam North
-Get a voucher from Mo

Good luck
