VN - Ren'Py - Light of My Life [Ch. 8 v0.8.1] [Naughty Road]

Let's start with the good. It seems like the beginning of a good story, and the MC comes across as believable. However, that's pretty much all I like about the game.

One thing that really made me feel guilty, almost sick to watch was the blisters on one of the girl's back. Yeah I get that it's realistic, but it is gross. It's on the same level of the "scat/gore" tags to me, which is a turn off.

This might be good for an adult psychological drama, but for a porn game it's not erotic. If the girls were better looking I think I might be viewing this in a more positive light.

I've only played the firt version of the game, but it's great so far. Nice writing and a real attempt at depth. It's worth a go. The tits look kind of funny, but I'd happily play this one for the plot and I like that the dev has made his own models. Reusing premade assets all the time looks goofy and it's admirable when people don't.

Just discovered this game, and it was a treat for sure. First off, the storytelling is great. And there are lots of playful but hot innuendos scattered around the game. Love that the MC is not an asshole like 80% of these types of games. It is also refreshing having the objects of desire be latina and unique, rather than the cookie cutter blond fuckdolls we are used to seeing. I would recommend anyone to give this game a shot.

Great writing. Surprisingly engaging storyline. I'm playing more for the story than the fap at this point. Game has light erotic material and seems to be building it slowly. Characters exist in-game that would be good to vent sexual frustrations with while respecting the slow pacing and corruption of the daughters wards.

Wow. What a surprise this was. A real hidden gem and a complete breath of fresh air.

The story, writing, pacing and character development is great.
Fantastic use of emotive music.
The devs have done a fantastic job here making you feel genuine emotion towards the characters and their story. Characters of which all vary and have unique personalities.
The character models are maybe the most refreshing thing of all here. Gone are the balloon breasted "perfect" girls that most other games use and in comes more natural girls. It's the imperfections of the models that ironically makes them perfect to a jaded adult game player like myself.
Fantastic use of teasing angles in otherwise non-sexual scenes too.

Overall it's a great start and I'm really excited for the future of this game.

These are first impressions and not a final review

I was really surprised by this title.
The first noticable thing about this game is, obviously, the models.
Now, they might not be to everyone's taste because they feature imperfections. I, personally find them to be quite beautiful and they feel more "real" to me exactly because of their imperfections.

But it's a matter of taste, and of course I can understand that some people might dislike them. But you have to be fair and admit, even if they're not to your liking - they certainly are unique. And that's something to appreciate with in a market that is so full of stock models.

But if it was only nice models, I wouldn't give the game a full score. And here's where the writing comes in. The writing feels mature and it really helps with the immersion, when descriptions of scenes are well done. Plus, the protagonist is neither a total creep nor an infantile dumbass, which is always nice.

I haven't seen any hard-core adult scenes yet, so I can't judge this side of the game. But if the game doesn't disappoint on that part, we have a real gem on our hands.

Two thumbs up and kudos to the developer, who dares to go with something unique.

At first i was skeptical about whether i should play this game because people posting on the tread about how 'ugly' it looks and some goblin comment. So it took me few days to try it. But it worth it.

I enjoyed the game. After the game end episode 1, i want more. The story is amazing. Their are a few adult vn i enjoy this past few years but this one i see a potential being top adult vn. Wth everyone says this girl is ugly, dude it looks realistically good. This is how a women should look like and not some white hour glass body and in the middle of the night didn't lock her bedroom and let us 'cop a feel'. And then when they wake up and angry we press the back button to find a another option.

Overall, i enjoy the story. I feel for the girls. I enjoy the music to be honest. Each character has it own music when you interact with them. Dev, you did a great job. I enjoyed it. Thank you.

Hey, its free. Why make a big deal out of it. Try making your own game if bother you that much. I'm taking to the 9-years old people that complain about this game.

Wow, this game looks very promising, apart from unique and refreshing girls/models... Especially if you prefer hot dark-haired spanish (?) chicks with natural look and character . The developer put some real effort, as it seems, even in small details in here, and although it could be early to say, this game could be one among a few gems of its kind..

Everything is top-notch in this.

The graphics:
Obviously the most important thing about adult games is the graphics, then the story, etc. Without good graphics, it would be a regular prose, novel or whatever. Having said that, the graphics are outstanding. I find the girls gorgeous, partially thanks to the realism. The bodies are amazing. I disagree that the boobs are ugly. The boobs are my favorite. I've always had a big areola fetish.

The story:
The story is so good. At moments I've gotten emotionally involved which NEVER happened to me before playing a game, let alone a game of this kind. I didn't want to get emotionally involved. I just wanted to fap. NGL, there were many relatable moments, perhaps that's what attracted me to the story. There was also some humor in it! I've rarely found myself audibly laughing. As I had my hand on my penis I was laughing! A very strange experience.

The characters:
The characters are very real. There's character development already seen in episode 1. I wanted to hug the characters. I even wanted to hug the main character.

The only thing I didn't like was the lackage of choices. Sometimes I am forced to choose a specific option, and other times when I choose; both options give the same result. Which begs the question, why are the choices even at that event in the first place. Regardless, I've enjoyed it and can't wait for episode 2.

I actually quite like the character style, refreshing change from all the cookie cutter 3DCG characters doing the rounds.

Also find the story interesting, with likable characters. It's also nice to see some actual story and build-up rather than just a wham-bam type game where everybody jumps everybody without rhyme or reason.

This is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Too early to tell whether it's good or not. It shows potential, but I am not that into the kind of stuff this game features. Some people will like it, but it's not for me.
And I found the nasty blisters kind of off putting.

Ticks all the right boxes so far:

• Well written, enough to counter an overused trope.
• Endearing character personalities.
• Unique and endearing art style.
• No exhaustive grind whilst still maintaining a relationship/corruption buildup that still feels like a reward.

v.0.2.1 Good chunk of content (no h-scenes) with solid writing, felt wholesome even almost teared up in the car scene and wanted to just give them a hug. While some may rag on the models its what caught my eye in the first place. If you're thinking about trying this game I think you'll like it. If NR can keep up the quality in terms of length and content I think this can definitely contend with the big "family" oriented titles.

Excellent game with excellent writing, it'll make you feel like you really are taking care of these girls, but at the end of the day, you'll find that they're the ones really taking care of you. 10/10

Review for first release Ch.1 v0.2.1

This game really blew me away. Immediately you get gut punched in the beginning. Which gets you invested into the story. How will this family cope with the loss of a loved one? Will the Mc be able to bring this family together?

Pros
*Music - The selection is excellent. each track really sets the tone and mood. Suggest you turn on the music for this one.
* Writing - The author does a good job writing the personalities of the MC and the ladies of the game. Each character is distinct but relatable and likable without going into trope extremes. I want to help and care for these ladies.
* Presentation - The game is easy on the eyes. The choices are plentiful and obvious. Gives me a bit of a telltale game type vibe.
*Assets - The models are highly customized. Immediately making this game stand out from others in the genre. The locations looks different from your standard assets. Most likely modifying and customized.
(Reviewer Bias) I find the girls of this game quite attractive. They give me a bit of a latina or indian type of vibe. Nice change from the standard european women.

Cons
None that i can think of at the time

* More characters
* A gallery when the games gets further in.

Final thoughts - I hope this game gets some traction and keeps the feels train coming. Though I wouldn't mind a few saucy scenes as well. Hope people will try this out even if they don't find the main girls attractive. I feel the writing will keep you engrossed and care for these lovely ladies.

I just wanna say! I don't care about boobs. I just loved the story so far. It's beautiful. Waiting for the next updates.

I'm reviewing version 0.2 of Chapter 1. The storyline in this game is very good, although pornwise a tad slow. It has ups and downs just like real life, so that's what I would consider as good and realistic. There are very funny parts in the story. Especially at the end of this version I couldn't stop laughing. The scene was hilarious! Make sure you have the sound turned on, otherwise you'll miss the fun part. Talking about sound, I'm not to fond of the background music. The music in itself is beautiful but too melodramatic to my taste. The renders are very good. What I particularly like is that the models are more reality based. Although the game is in its early stages, approximately around 30 minutes to 1 hour playtime, depending on how fast you skip through the dialogues, I find this game very promising.

Refreshing to see something other than the cookie cutter models that star in most games these days. If you are having second thoughts as a result of the renders, don't. Give this game a shot.

The story and humor will keep me coming back....not to mention the uniquely attractive renders. Looking forward to the next update!

Review of version 0.2

Wow! What a start! As someone who occasionally likes some story with my porn, I'm hella excited about this game. The characterizations are top notch. There's very little teasing and nudity and there is no sex in this initial release. But I honestly don't care. I'm sucked in by these girls. Especially, Denise. If you're not getting the feels from this story, then check your pulse; you might have misplaced your heart.

Some people in the forums have complained about the models. I can understand their complaints. These are unconventional beauties with unconventional bodies. For me, that's a huge plus. I love distinctive beauty. Sometimes a model with perfect assets can be boring, especially if the model has been used to death in other games. At times, I mix up characters between games because of the overuse of certain models. Not so with these girls. I won't forget them anytime soon. To me, that's a huge value add for this game.

For a version 0.2, there is a great amount of content. It took me a good hour or so to get through all of it. I hope future releases contain similar amounts of content. No one will ever be bitching about being short-changed by a small update.

All in all, this is one of the most impressive initial releases I've seen. I'll be waiting impatiently for version 0.3.

I usually don't review anything with a first release since I believe a game (Or novel) should be at a further stage before being able to give a fair opinion on it.

But for this one I will make a exception since it managed to do something that a lot of others don't; Being able to grasp my attention from the get-go.

The writing is really solid already (And without any grammatical errors) which manages to pull me further into the whole package and leaving me wanting for more, again, not something many games/novels manage to do so. I'm not going to write down the story and plot so far but it's really well done with enough character development which will only expand more the further the novel get's developed.

Now in my opinion the characters (And renders) look great, giving a breath of fresh air through this whole 'adult game' scene. Finally someone manages to make the models look like actual normal human beings, not already perfectly sculptured bimbos, or quoting the developer 'No photomodel characters straight out of an asset bundle'. Of course other peoples opinions will be different regarding this but for me it's a big plus.

All and all I think this is a great first start, and I certainly hope that Naughtyroad can keep on delivering a beautiful, slow-paced novel that keeps me wanting to come back after every new installment.
