VN - Ren'Py - Light of My Life [Ch.8 v0.8.2] [Naughty Road]

It got me hooked pretty hard at the start. The story starts very well and I had my hopes really high. But I tried so hard to escape Denise path, and wanted to end up with Macy, but it's not possible. Wish there was a way, but game has developed too far to change that unfortunately

Aesthetic and cohesive story, feeling engaged through out the entire experience. Master class level use of Ren'Pyl. Defiantly worth 5 stars.

I think expectations were the killer here. Seeing the reviews for this game, I was expecting a masterpiece of a visual novel that I would have a hard time putting the game down, that was not the case.

Pros:

Solid writing, good backstory, and overall lots of effort and polish on the game.

Cons:

The game warns you that it doesn't condone incestual relationships but forces them upon you at every turn. This is for Patreon reasons, I'm sure, but I thought I could be a normal father figure to these girls and instead it's mired in weird sexual things.

Denise is extremely annoying, I get the VN is trying to use her to rationalize everything, but her model, the way she acts. just are a turn-off, let alone her actually being a daughter-like figure that you've raised since she was a kid.

My least favorite genre of games on this site is incestual, but to specify it even more, I hate when I am thrust into a father figure role and the game punishes me for being a good dad instead of being a complete degenerate.

The models are unique but as Denise calls herself, everyone is frumpy besides Brooke and Macy, it does give a sense of realism but then the cartoony faces throw it off again. This game was not made for me and I understand it, but I still wanted my opinion shared for players like me that feel the same way.

Conclusion:

The game is well made, no one can deny that, the dialogue is good, and it nails the premise of the game well, I just wish I could be a good dad hooking up with the other girls in this game as a main plot instead of a side plot.

The second best adult game I've ever played in my life, just after Acting Lessons, I really want to thank the creator, because from A to Z you can feel all the passion he wanted to put into his game. From the quality of the dialogues to the design of the girls, which completely changes from the clones we're used to seeing, making them truly human and more realistic. I really had a great time with this game, and I wish its creator all the best. I hope this won't be his last game.

Every release is like Christmas mornng for me. I love this dev, and if I wasn't so god damn poor I'd make sure they could afford yachts with how much I'd pay them to keep their motivation up.

The character designs may not please everyone but they work excellent in my book.

The writing, characters, renders, and animations are all on a level that's pretty hard to find in most games. The characters may not be everyone's cup of tea appearance-wise, but for me, they were a breath of fresh air! They're so dynamic, unique, and incredibly well-developed, making it easy to get emotionally invested in their lives and relationships. Each update is packed with so much thought, care, and detail that the wait between updates is worth every second. If you're looking for a game with amazing storytelling, lovable characters, and top-tier visuals, Light of My Life is one of the best. It’s a must-play, and every update feels like a gift!

I love this game and art style. This game is truly amazing with such a deep loving heartfelt story. I have played this for years and never once have I got tired of it. And the best part is the game is still being updated.

Well written characters, with interesting story arcs, a lot of player agency in regards to who you end up fucking and specific fetishes, and the graphics are both interesting and beautiful. This is a top tier game that raises the benchmark in nearly every category.

Smooth renders and unique and beautiful character design, excellent story telling, hope there is more ideas to come. Just played 2nd season and it has been good. I am totally not a fan of all the fetishes but this has been captivating and holds your attention. Hope they keep it up.

If you're considering playing it, play it. It's story heavy, not for the faint of heart, but you will get lost in this game's story (in a good way). Would recommend to any fans of incest-heavy visual novels or roleplaying games.

I did not think I would enjoy this game. I saw the preview images and thought I wouldn’t be able to get past the aesthetic style chosen for the whole game and cast. Surprisingly, it’s absolutely no issue at all due to the great writing and pacing. The choices are well spaced out too, which makes you always have a say on how you react to events even if somewhat limited by the character you’re playing as and their circumstances. Absolutely worth it, if you’ve got a lot of time in your hands and enjoy well-written adult VNs.

I originally played this AVN when it had only three chapters. There was little action, so I stopped following it to give it time to mature. I came back with Chapter 8 to give it another try. I slogged through the three chapters to get to the new content. Along the way, I realized how I was becoming less attracted to the youngest 'tenant' (Denise) when giving her the morning massages. No problem, I thought, because the eldest 'tenant' (Macy) is definitely worth the hassle. I get to a point where I can choose to be hard locked out of Denise's path. Yes, please! I am ready to spend some quality time with Macy and really enjoy this AVN. Um, no. By hardlocking out of Denise's path, I am subsequently hard locked out of Macy's path. WTF? Ok, no problem, cause I got a thing for cheating pregnant mothers. I chat it up with the mother and we don't even exchange pleasantries before I am railing her in the corporate gym. I mean, the author goes to painstaking lengths to build up Denise's path while neglecting the rest of the novel's characters. I know it would be extra renders, but no Macy only path is silly. I mean, to create time for rendering a Macy only path, just cut out some of the other characters that get virtually no backgroung story except needing to have sex with the MC because he works with them. Couple this with average animations and I can confidently ignore this AVN in the future.

Definitely my favorite Visual novel, the art is unique (in a good way, the dev made his own models) the girls are cute and hot. The writting is one of the best i 've read in a porn game, the characters are interesting and funny to interact with.

This is for sure a AAA project. The graphics are great and the layered technic and animation loops give a unique 3D look with depth. Not to mention the artistic style, some would find a bit strange at first, but it is in anyway an enrichment to all the plastic and unnatural looking models for the majority of the VN here on F95 with tucked on gravity defying "balloons".
The plot is plausible and funny. The protagonist is subtile like in a viewers perpective (you!) and keeps the main attraction at the female charakters.

This is a heavy incest kink story and very well writen at almost every part.
The characters have so well written great distinct personalities - all of them.

I hope for more exploration of the different teased kinks like fisting, anal, toys and urination, group and voyeur.

Did the author HAVE to make all female characters Fugly?
Yeah it may be on purpose, but why make a very explicit porn game if you wanted people to focus on story and character writing, and not give the arguably most important factor for the genre, eye candy.

One of my absolute favorite AVNs!

The characters are great, endearing and believable. The writing is excellent with an interesting and touching story and dialogue that's actually worth reading with the different characters feeling like they each have their own personality and way of expressing themselves. Most AVN really suffer from having, at best, mediocre writing. This is NOT one of those games.

The visuals are beautiful, both the characters and the environments. Some people will certainly find the visual style too weird, as the characters all have a slightly stylized look, almost resembling stop-motion dolls. I personally love it, but it won't be for everyone. Another thing I appreciate about the design is how the characters aren't idealised sex gods, but actually have less than perfect physiques. Even with the slightly cartoony design they seem much more real than the characters of most games.

The lewd scenes are very hot, but also quite emotional and intimate. This owes a lot to how well the characters and the dialogue work, but the scenes themselves are also not just mindless pounding, they're written as two (or more) real people being intimate.

There's also great music accompanying most scenes, great care seems to have been put into finding appropriate tunes to set the mood. Just another example of the effort put into the game.

I could go on, because there's really very few aspects of the game that I don't think are just excellent. It's one of the most rewarding slow burns I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing and so far (Chapter 8 just released) the dev keeps on delivering and the game is only getting better, very significantly so, even. I have previously supported them on Patreon and this update has convinced me to to that again, it's just an absolute pleasure to play.

Review as of Ch. 8

Okay, I think this game has lost me. The main conflict for the girls has been resolved and now we’re just lingering around in the author’s maladaptive daydreams.

The buildup was great (but overly verbose) and pretty believable, which is really hard to pull off with a father/daughter story, so that’s definitely commendable. But I think the sensible thing would have been to end the game with various configurations for each of the characters rather than lead into another season. As it stands, it feels like we’re just following along with one particular niche ending, like we’re stuck in the epilogue and the credits won’t roll.

Definitely worth checking out though if you haven’t already. The family dynamic is very sweet and the daughters feel really well-defined as characters. The relationship with the eldest daughter is probably the highlight and the payoff for her feels cathartic from what I can remember (been a while since I played that part).

TL;DR: Decent grooming simulator that’s suffering from lack of real choices in later chapters

The game has unique and great art, with a fun story. I was happy seeing this one getting an update and I hope there are many to come.

Really the only downside is that it takes a while between updates.
