I started playing Karryn's Prison recently after years of avoiding it and it's startling to see it's just a better version of this. It's insane how the dev can keep fumbling when their inspiration got so much right.
well it also isnt finished so it may be better in the future

What are the controls for the drinking competition supposed to be?

For beer it's obviously just keep the bar in between the two lines, but the jerk-off thing doesn't seem to progress no matter what I do.

So in a game already over 3 years in development, riddled with bugs, unintuitive controls and never-explained half-finished minigames, they decided to take a single one of those minigames, add basically nothing to it but a few over-the-top NPC portraits in the background, and claim a further year of development?

Why not just finish the game?

In my opinion the game was good and original at the start. I really liked the fact that you and the enemies can be aggressive or lewd when there is a "diplomatic meeting", but after the dev added more different minigames my interest about it gradually faded because he/she didn't polish and optimize what they did before.
I hope the dev will do it in the near future, but I'm not positive about it.

No offense to the dev, but the only thing they really have under their belt "development" wise is a darkest dungeon lewd mod. Which was honestly kinda just a shitty text based flavor changer. So moving from that to making an actual game was just too far reach. Rip to this game though, could've been great.

You haven't seen the game My New Life: Revamp yet.

Incidentally, the developer had already completed a game called My New Life seven years ago, halfway through. He then abandoned it and started working on it again from scratch.

the game is a complete mess, the only common thing with karryn prison, is low quality overly huge breast bimbo girl

i found this searching for games similar to karryn prison in gameplay, I am surprised it has been so many years and games like this simply do not exist despite the clear popularity of the genre

Prolly cuz the dev doesn't really know what they are doing. They did a few darkest dungeon lewd mods, decided to do their own game, started making the game, decided to add a Patreon to get compensated for time spent, realized making games is hard, decided to concentrate on mini-games, realized they can draw but don't know shit about coding, figured they would have learned by now, kept making more mini-games, had trouble connecting the mini-games together, lost their mind, finally decided to reboot the game on Steam (well, or somebody is ripping them off).

But what more is there to code? The combat system is there, it has some minigames, the story.. can progress and stuff, the rest should just be copy and paste with different text and images.

All this dev had to do was make a copypasta of Karryn with a space skin on it and that's it
For real. I think part of the issue is the dev was learning as they go and didn’t fully anticipate some of the walls they would run into. For instance they originally tried to create this in GODOT and quickly realized that wouldn’t work, then switched over to Unity. Except Unity apparently is more difficult with handling character art that has “gradual” stripping, based on what the dev for Cebille has said. Originally the dev here was going to have the MC have different levels of stripped, like topless, bottomless etc. Also apparently they were going to have dog enemies.

The minigames were a cool idea at first but it’s gotten wayyyy out of hand. Should’ve just focused on the “Diplomacy “ combat being the main focus of the game. What a waste.

I’m in the tester discord channel where he posts beta builds and even full builds sometimes but I haven’t bothered checking because it just honestly doesn’t seem worth it.

He's mentioned the current code is a mess, and he wants to start new chapters, etc in a new executable to clean it up. I'm more concerned by the lack of episodes/story missions/new planets. It's been 2 years since the Lizardman planet was added and 1 year since Episode 1 was "done" with the Phase 5 Tournament questline. When I first heard of this game I pointed out the current release pace would take 2+ years to complete, and was reassured development would go much faster going forward. I'm convinced he's going to create every minigame before we get any narrative progression now, and that would take like 18 months.

Oh it's one of those devs. A dev that is too afraid to push through with what they have, release that and instead rework the same game for 10 years and then all but abandon it by updating it once every year with five minutes worth of content. Oh well.
