so I tried adding some clothing and tattoo mods and now my save won't load, anyone knows how I can fix this?
From my experience, it's probably because the game cannot read one of the XML properly. You'll have to figure what offending mod it is in the error.log file which is located in your data folder. From there you could try to fix or delete the mod.

So i originally played this game years ago but have been playing again this week to fill that custom-character text adventure itch. Is the current state of the game broken? NPC's are using actions i have explicitly disabled like oral. I have also yet to see any NPC apply bondage when they have the apply bondage fetish. This game is still kinda weird with the way it was designed.

Not sure about the oral denial (iirc I don't think there's a content option to turn it off, just for everyone to hate the fetish, which technically means they can perform the action), but the bondage fetish is currently only implemented in a few sealed items (which only the player can really interact with), and a specific weapon that can only* be obtained during October -- and even then I'm not sure if NPCs can use the action for it.
The game has very solid foundations (design-wise), but delivering on its berth of opportunities has long-since been a major challenge that can't really be overcome until either 1) the developer channels the power of the Silicon Valley warlords and just busts out feature after feature, 2) they hire/get volunteers/put out bounties for specific bits, or 3) the game becomes moddable enough for people to do it themselves.

You can disable the fetish, but upon closer inspection of the top of the page, this is really just preferences and not a hard disable. This is a good example of what i'm talking about with the design of the game being weird.

I had a feeling that was the case with the bondage content. Guess i'll wait another few more years and check in again. I did make a couple mods but now i feel like i'm probably wasting my time making mods for this.

i'll be honest; stop waiting. this will never get finished, ever, and if it does we'll all be well into our seventies or on our deathbeds.
I know, but I can dream.

Hell, at this point I'll settle for "a playable state that doesn't just end at a seemingly random point of the story"

It's been mentioned a couple of times in this thread, but the best thing that could happen at this point is the game becomes fully moddable and the game gets "finished" Skyrim style

That's not to say it's impossible right now (people like Ace have made big, direct contributions to the game already) but it's certainly not a great experience, especially when a lot of us have bad school/work code to contend with :p

This game...I'm dumbfounded. So muhc time spent on making pointless cloths (when 99% of hte game they'll be off) and making specif sub-sub morphs for furry auists. I wish more priority wason accual contenand story.

No companions anymore.
Can' track your grand-kids.
The game also saves useless data, bloating saves (why do NPC need a li of seen body parts?).

Actually, most of that are contributions done by modders. The skeptical in me says adding other people's content (with their permission) is a good way to pad what would otherwise be small, boring updates.

For the past few months, the developer has been primarily busy with bug fixes and tweaking and exporting the code into XML to facilitate and open new avenues for modding (which is important, so I can't blame her too much). Oh and some content for Elis... small content. Inno is kind of stuck in development hell with a lot of "personal issues" going on and it's all causing delays like mad, on top of the "regular" delays. Then came Christmas and New Years's eve, which is when people usually take a break.

Companions were originally modder content but were causing too many issues and making it harder to move the game forward so they got cut. They can still be enabled in the game's options but without support or new content, it is not recommended, as they can break the game more so than it already does. Not sure about tracking your grand-kids. Also, yes, the game is unoptimized in a lot of areas, saves included.

The more I think about companions, the more I wish Inno would have taken a hybrid approach and assigned a specific set of NPCs as potential companions. The additional content you get with Brax is pretty neat, and a great example of world-building. Plus it would have given you the feeling of forming a tightly-knit team. You know, sort of like a traditional RPG.

Then again, that would just cause things to get delayed even more due to the additional writing that would be required. :HideThePain: Oh well.

The game does have a code path for determining whether or not a character is a grandparent or grandchild. Like, if you interact with your grandchildren, they will call you grandma/grandpa.

It isn't directly stored like that, but since the game does store the mother/father of an NPC it'll just walk up the hierarchy. It can identify grandparents and great-grandparents, though from a quick glance at the code it appears to stop working beyond that point (apparently LT follows the three-generation rule).

I see this game going the same direction as CoC, tbh: the furries take it over, the focus changes from demons and monsters to anthro, and it becomes something it wasn't meant to be.

The aunt literally was a shark in Inno's private prototypes. This was always a furry game, new races just used to be more annoying to add.
Yeah. Someone mentioned earlier that the community over at Discord is quitening down a bit; that a lot of non-furries left and it is mostly furries just chilling about now. I can see why.

The game gives you a lot of configs and customization settings but it has always been a furry game first and foremost and when non-furries realize that they tend lose interest and leave. I mean, at best, all you can do is disable them from random spawns. The same settings don't extend to essential NPCs, meaning those NPCs will remain furries regardless of your choices.

Unfortunately, a mixed-bag game that tries to cater to a lot of people usually means no particular group is going to be wholly pleased. This, coupled with FOTM* development priorities, tend to create misconceptions in people, especially those new to it. I still remember the whole "It's a sandbox!!" debacle that happened a while ago - story hadn't progressed in years and priority had been given to a lot of side-content, which led to people assuming this was primarily a sandbox.

*FOTM = Flavor of the month
