Hello together,
I've started to write the story and preparation of assets and would like to document links and tips for everyone who's interested.

Relax
Practice as you learn.
Write short stories, create wallpaper or simple GUI elements, and do other stuff to practice as you collect ideas and write the main story.

Writing
Storytelling, novel and screen writing, how to write character, dialogues, and scenes (romantic, erotic, action, aso) are just a few possible aspects.
If It's a fantasy/sci-fi setting we may want to know about worldbuilding, magic systems, faction creation, and so on.
Probably won't use all of them but it can help writing an engaging plot.

Programming
As far as I can tell it can get very difficult and frustrating according to the planed game functions and engine.
Ren'Py is the engine I decided to use for my first project. It seems like one of the easiest to start with.
Unity, Unreal, RPGM, and other engines could be more fitting for other projects.

Art
2D, 3D, animations, sounds and more.
Color and lightning theory, composition rules and other terms I wouldn't think of at first.
Mostly daz related stuff, but will add any kind of helpful source for other possibilities like free drawing courses, illusion related stuff, and so on.

Release!
Marketing is the only term I came across for the final step so far.
I still got to look for specific videos or blogs regarding it and would be thankful for every advise.

Laws
I would also like to use the opportunity and ask for tips regarding laws and how to avoid getting sued into oblivion for a hobby project.
Thanks!

Regarding Laws, the standard splash screen of 'this game contains adult content, please confirm you're permitted to engage in such content according to your local law.' and 'All characters in this game are over 18, any similarities to real people or places are coincidental and unintended.' Will take care of a lot of that.

You may catch a cease and desist if someone really doesn't like what you're doing with their assets, assuming you either pirated them or they had fine print you agreed to. Actually launching a lawsuit via a competent lawyer will run you $7000-$12000, so unless your Patreon is so balling they have reason to believe you have that money, you're not likely to see a lawsuit. And I think that if the total price of all the assets you use (Say $700 all together for the licenses) is 10% of your annual income from the product (Say you make $7200/y = $600/m) you should buy the assets anyway. What cutoff you use is of course up to you. If you want to play it ultra safe, pay up front, if you want to be very safe, buy them from your first revenue, everything after that is yours.

For real porn, you may need to get it licensed, but if you use less than is available on Xvideos/Pornhub, I can't imagine a lawsuit heading your way either. A cease and desist may occur if you mute the video and use text to turn a video into non-con/Rule 7 content. Can't imagine the actor that fucked the spinner would like seeing it turned into him raping a 15yo you know? Then again, if you opened with 'all characters are over 18' you can't have a 15yo anyway, but they may still not appreciate being injected into non-con fanfic.

TL;DR: Buy licenses when you deem appropriate, stay away from clearly trademarked stuff (Don't film your scene in modded Skyrim for example) and use a disclaimer splash screen to ensure anybody that played it claimed to be allowed to.

Thank you very much for the information!
I'm buying all assets beforehand and only on the Daz Store and Renderotica.
Since I'm using only render I assume that I shouldn't need the interactive licenses.

Beware of links and assets hoarding. As much as I dislike corporate slogans, Nike's "Just do it" is often the best advice for new creators. Just start, aim for a small project you can start and finish, knowing it's mostly a learning project and the next one will be better.

Thank you Doorknob22, procrastination is a real problem!
I started to remind myself to work every day for at least 2 hours on clear parts of the project and do the research work afterwards.
