Somebody thought it was bad? I think it might be the same case as realm invader,you either like jokes or not.The Inn is rather a comedy than romantic story,with a lot of refs and memes.Extremely great renders and animations as of hs1.

i tried the inn a long time ago. but the intro was kinda ehh both story and renders and i didn't like the design of the LIs much (insane proportions). it gets better then?

Renders get better, humor gets less intrusive, and overall story becomes more focused while also not taking itself too seriously.

It just moves so damn slow. 7 years in and most of that was dedicated to the slice of life family stuff you've seen 100 times already. The plot is just now finally starting.

That one is from Chapter 3, actually! Chapter 4 gets another bump in quality and Chapter 5 is already in the works! Hope you enjoy our game tho! Scions of the Divine is fantastic tho, definitely one of my favorites right now!

A few words about Eden.I played it just a bit,2 hours of chapter 1-2 and maybe 10 minutes of chapter 3.
First of all,"humor" and "parody" tags are missing.The story itself is some kinda escape room(just like overview says) that has similar to deviant anomalies puzzles,time to time you can interact with your environment to solve them,however,here they are much easier so far,I could say even too easy,but since it's more like a comedy parody,I think devs made them like that intentionally.The mc is a detective and the leader of his harem group.
I won't focus on writing much,since it probably gets better later,but the beginning was awful,that dialogue with Natasha after solving first puzzles:
-I like you
-I like you too
-Let's date
-I really like you
-bla bla bla
Like wtf,and it's not the only dialogue that was much longer then it needed to be
As of lis,if you ever heard of "dick magnet",then that's the definition of it.And I really mean it,every single girl here is ready to jump on mc's dick once she saw him(mc) for the first time.He didn't even need to say anything,I get the point of it is to laugh off how it usually happens in avns,but that also makes all lis feel like they are soulless bots.Didn't like any of them so far.Natasha looks hot,but boring af

As of jokes,here are a lot of refs to memes,other games/avns, including Etern ,including nothing I mean ,but here are too many of them,if you see them every 5 minutes they stop being funny and get annoying instead,however.pineapple pizza lovers would rate it

I can add a point about mini games,even if they seem simple,I really like the way they were made,not many other games have it.And yeah,for people who don't love mini games,this games is based on mini games,you can't avoid them

As of animations,actuallly,even the very first scene with Natasha looked pretty okay

Overall,I like the idea,but realization of first chapters was weak.So,I'll start playing since chapter 3 till the end to tell if it actually gets better regarding the plot and writing,cuz as of renders,we already know how significantly they were improved,the same goes for animations

I will say the first two chapters are veeery weak writing-wise. I like to think that I have been learning quite a bit as a writer as the story develops. Definitely have toned it down with the jokes tho hahahahaha. We will be making the mini-games fully avoidable in v0.5, so there's that!

It's a common problem which I hate. It removes the whole purpose of the relationship in the story. Sometimes it looks believable with females that were close to MC before (relatives or friends). Sometimes it even works with a slutty personality if dev makes that character interesting (but most of the time they fail). But if every character acts horny I don't buy it.

Also I think it's time to establish acceptable "quick grab" option for less talented developers. Who are afraid to loose their audience without early lewd content. What is the right way to do it?

Maybe something like Eternum,the first penetration scene was with a prostitute,and the other one is - peeking at one of the lis,so you got some teasing,but it wasn't too rushed

As of acceptable thing,as you said,it's fine if there's a one girl you were familiar with before,but not every single girl should be like that.You can start sex scenes with side characters first,as it happens in many other games,or give it better set up,like,fucking in a night club like it was with felicia in PC.IF it's a main li,I think it's better to start with some teasing

It was acceptable because it was in the "game". Also you technically gave your "first one" to complete stranger. Doing it with real prostitute would be a turn off. Teasing is always nice, but its almost impossible to create a scene where characters don't show how they like each other.

There are wet dreams and you can also make scenes where girls play with themselves.

Exactly, you either have to have Side-LIs for that or you have the MC know one character very well (like already in a relationship) and then let others join the Harem. Even tho the latter is either to start with, it is harder to implement a story why there should suddenly be a Harem. And this person just being a childhood-friend does not really work well IMO, see Annie from Eternum - it would have been totally out of place to have early lewd scenes with her.
And if there are Side-LIs, they will have to be prostitutes or at least women who are sexually active. But sadly most of the diehard Harem-fans are against it, because they ideally want to have Virgins who then are suddenly total sluts for MC.

But I think that a game needs one or two Side-LIs who are quickly providing some H-Scenes. And it should be fine if those Side-LIs are only there for that and if they are optional.

Because there is nothing worse than a Harem-game where all Main-LIs instantly jump on MCs cock. I mean, in general Harem-games are kind of effortless, since the goal is a Harem and the choices are basically "Do you want that LI or not?" or "Do you want to fuck right now or not?" and most people will go for the full Harem either way. But it is always better if that takes time, because it at least feels worth it to play and go the route.
(I mean, obviously there are games which leave a choice by excluding certain LI-combinations... but unless there is a good reason behind it (e.g. MC acting more evil or more good attracting different LIs) I never was a fan of choosing between LIs...)

Jeez, I am the one who give Eden 5 stars, mostly due to how impressive the render become better over the update. Yeah, ep1 was less than ideal when it come to interaction, but they improve the writing in the upcomming chapter, at least I feel they add more depth to the girls. At least the game is averge when it come to writing.
And isn't you guys always complaining about how we don't have good HS games and the genre will properly die out in a few years. So I guess I won't be too picky about them.

I think this is a very valid point for sure. When you're figuring things out in a genre like this you definitely worry about things like "oh shit if he doesn't fuck all the LIs by version 0.3 nobody will play the game." Obviously these are things you figure out way later into the development of the game. If I were to ever redo the early chapters of Eden, this is something I'd definitely rewrite, but I'd much rather see the game to the end instead of being stuck at development hell.

That said, Eden's purpose is for us to learn how to make proper AVNs. We've been very open about this from the start. So our main goal is going to be to finish it, learn from our mistakes, and not repeat said mistakes in future projects.

I mean, the goal should always be to have a game which people play for the porn, but stay for the story. Which is why I personally dont like games where there is a lot of sex from the get go or where the LIs jump on MC immediatly. Sure, a fuckfest can also be nice from time to time, but I dont think you can create a good story from a game which does things too quickly. Because you need to build up on the story part, but are already quite advanced on the porn part, which means that the porn might take a backseat at some point, which is also not ideal.
