(Shamelss self plug I'm also making one lol)

Has it been that long already? Sheesh... It does sound quite unlikely when you list the details out like that. I would say add a community feature to add tags to existing projects, but that would come with its own problems.
FurrHouse looks like fun, I'll try it

It started at the right time, back when there wasn't as much harem-themed VNs. Now, the genre is pretty saturated.
That's the definition of "right place, right time":oops:An another one that surprised me is The Headmaster, nearly 3k patrons(there is a 1$ sub). Also, not only harem genre is saturated,it's the same for sci-fi.As we see now,too many devs try to recreate eternum

This 100%. If you started around 2019 (2018 in Runey's 4.7k paid members case) time you have a massive advantage. 2nd best time to start was probably early covid.

Being honest a lot of the games coming out 2023 and later are way better than many of the earlier that are still getting thousands despite them not really improving much.

That early loyal crowd snowballs and pays off.

The most similar one imo is Harem Hotel, they both came out at around the same time and both have near 5000 patrons.

Yup, and that's why I said the discovery aspect of this thread is so important. With so many titles, all with varying quality it becomes a real time sink to try and find the good stuff.

There's also just the loyalty aspect. I'm sure some people only pledge to one or a few games and to pledge to someone else would be like betraying their barber lol.

wtf,it got more patrons than ripples + pale carnations + realm invader +new horizon + inanna revenge + cross realms combined
To be fair, not all of the games get that much attention and sometimes it is explainable (even when not justified). I think Ripples suffer from the whimpy MC (which apparently gets better, but it really drove me away from that game). But aside from personal preference:

Realm Invader takes AGES to update. Yes, the Updates are massive, but if you have to wait 18 months or so for an Update, you are not subbing there.
Inanna Revenge having a low amount of Subs is probably because AtemX is pretty underrated and this is most likely because his first game (AlwaysFan) features optional NTR and Prostitution and some people have problems with the game at least having you to share the Pictures of the Main-LI. (But I am rooting for the Dev, they are great and maybe there is hope, if we consider that even Caribdis was underrated at some point)

Meanwhile A House in the Rift is a Vanilla-Harem game, which probably attracts the most people. Right place, right time indeed.

The frequent updates are a big one. Stay at the top of latest updates every few weeks and makes pledges feel more worth it.

Yep. And this is why Realm Invader will never reach high Sub-Counts IMO. Many players will simply forget about the game or will just not bother to wait that long. The Dev himself complained that games with less quality than his are getting more attention and money, but this is entirely on him. There is always some reaeson why people dont want to subscribe to someone and if the game itself is great (which is the case for Realm Invader), then it is the Update Cycle. And the Dev could easily cut each Update in 3 parts, would still have VERY big Updates, releasing one every 6-8 months or so. Which would be totally fine.

Are there any people who visit bluesky?I was thinking about creating a page there to post, maybe, something about upcoming hs avns and everything.Mainly,to get the list popular outside of f95,like what itch io list exists for. There is reddit as an another option, and it probably gets more attention, but I didn't really like some rules there:unsure:So,that's why I'm not sure it all makes sense

Bluesky is lackluster for exposure, Twitter is way more active. Reddit or itch.io are good though.
