Overview
This thread was created as a heads up for patreons willing to share vars on F95.
What are trackers? How do creators spot you after you share a var?
Trackers are anything inside the var file that can be used to identify the person who leaked it. Techniques creators use vary, for example some add .txt file inside vars with the name, number or hash of the patreon who purchased their vars, some push vars with different asset preview images, some edit meta.json and add markers ..etc.
As a general rule of thumb, if a creator is sending his vars to each patreon individually like via a discord bot or private messaging then you should be careful before sharing. Also, you should wait a couple of days before sharing vars you just bought. If you want to share vars safely, DM an uploader first.
Creators List:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Let me know if you think another creator should be added to the list!
If you are a patreon and got banned after sharing vars on F95 from any creator not in the list, DM me with the incident and vars you shared or in a reply to this thread.

For dear creators, note that I might have manipulated your trackers a couple of times and thus you banned the wrong person. Regardless, your vars are often leaked first on Asian markets such as metacosmic, vam18, vamshop, keseun ..etc and you don't have a clue because you can't access and buy from these sites unless you are Chinese. In order to understand what's going on and why all your efforts of tracking are pointless, you need to know that resellers on Asian markets go sub to your patreons and then resell these vars on various Asian markets, in the reselling process, they make more profits than you, they don't care about trackers, when you ban them, they just open new accounts to get the new vars and the cycle repeats. Eventually your vars end up on F95 by people that bought them from Asian markets. I often skip checking vars coming from Asian markets and only focus on F95 patreons. So, before taking the blame on F95, go check your vars on Asian markets first, maybe they are on sale!

Holy shit dude, this is sad but not unexpected. In my opinion after the creators made back their investments from vars they should just make the files free, instead of making these shitty trackers. Surely they know that they can't win against the hydra of piracy.

Thanks for the heads up though!

IMO instead of creators putting so much effort into tracking their paying customers, maybe put some of that effort into improving the quality of your work such that I, a pirate who has had access to all your stuff for free, would actually want to download it. A number of those creators I don't bother wasting my storage space on and I have over 40TB of storage available.

Any way this can be stickied? It's not just something for people who want to share, but really a head's up to any creator who's wasting time and effort on anti-piracy (which has literally NEVER worked for anyone, even companies spending millions on it) to know that their efforts are both A) Known and B) completely in vain.

I really don't have an issue with people charging for their models but dude I'm not subbing $10/month because I want one look from your collection. Patreon's subscription model is cancer.
Its based on the old tradition of artists having a 'patron' who pays them to make art. It was big in the Renaissance. However, we have things like indoor plumbing that the Renaissance didn't have, so patreon should have an option for people to just buy an individual item similar to itch.io. Like a "support me" or "buy from me" type thing.

Well, then can improve their quality to 2000% but that still doesn't change the fact that they are trying to monitor their paying customers, mostly because of the above mentioned asian re-sellers and of piracy.

Corpos fail to combat piracy with their shitty DRM-s and they invest millions....so i don't know what benefit will these trackers offer to the creators.

On the other hand you are correct regarding the quality, any current pirate is a potential future paying customer.

Anyways, let's see how this topic evolves.

As a creator in another field, something I learnt was that folks who consider pirating content would almost never convert into paying customers anyway. There are really no lost sales here. I usually think of it as free publicity (and yes, even for my own content)

Hopefully all of these listed VaM creators can come to that realization soon and stop treating all of their paying customers as potential criminals. The few VaM creators I do support thankfully dont bother with such "extreme" measures, and I'm happy to keep them going as a result :)

Be grateful for the earnings you get from what is essentially a hobby. Stressing out about things like this is unhealthy. Just my two cents.

Trust me, original patreon design is actually good...
Sure, it does annoy when you need just one model from the creator, but it could be worse. Patreon allows now to sell individual items:

So, now think, if all the creators would move to that, selling every single piece of crap they made at 3-5$, vs 5-10$ for all the content atm

I actually saw those asian markets before discovering vam had a section on F95. It never occurred to me they were purchasing and reselling vars. Not sure how that flew over my head lol.

People take too much effort into preventing leaks then just... sharing their content and getting paid for it. We got free content creators with a pateron and im all for sponsoring because i want them to keep making, and we got paywalled content creators that Im always iffy with but when they are consistent. I dont mind giving $5-$7 buck a month... Not $20 like some people....

The problem when monetization content... is people will see one person do it and think.. "Hey I can make money too!" and then the domino effect. I mean years ago people just shared crap on the internet even stuff they worked on and didnt care to lock it behind paywalls until sites like patreon came around... it was either free or paid on THEIR website, not 3rd party.

Instead of taking all the extra effort to 'prevent leaks' which will NEVER happen or price out people to like get paid for it being leaked... just make your content because at he end of the day, I dont think anyone is worth paying excess of what I'd pay for Xbox's GamePass...

Honestly most content creators should see leaks as a badge of honor, because it means their stuff was worth leaking and worth sharing and worth the free advertisement because people like CuddleMocap, C&G Studio make a ton of content and also a lot of money and I dont think they give a crap about leaks. I typically check leaked content first before paying anyhow just to see if its worth the time and investment and content creators may not like it but hey.

If I dont like the content after paying for it, will you refund me? The answer is likely going to be 'no that doesnt make sense' however I can do that with Steam Games or take things back to the store after using it.

The RPGmaker community actually shocked me with this a couple years ago when I was thinking about getting back into it. When I first started back in the black and white days of 2004 there were a few websites where people just shared all these awesome snippets they made that helped everyone. Flash forward and, while there were still some, many of them had either paywalled everything or at least the most useful ones. Oh hey, look at that, a bunch of RPGM mods are here on F95. :p

It seems like every single new instance of entertainment media has to learn the same god damned lesson that was taught decades ago.

Book publishers learned it with book stores selling 2nd hand books.

Radio stations didn't pay attention and had to learn it with tape recorders.

Video stores blind folded themselves and had to relearn what radio stations refused to the 2nd time around.

Music producers and record labels thought they were too rich to learn.

Video game developers and publishers still refuse to learn, and now apparently VAM creators need to learn it too.

It depends, it can be considered doxing if you release the buyer's personal information to the public or harass them. Depends on the country.
Patreon creators have a way of seeing the personal information behind the patreon subscriber's account? That's concerning.
