Okay, I've played a dozen or two h games to this point, more than half of them with incest themes. I've seen a lot of complaints and comments that the genre is more than a little played out/clichéd at this point. So I have a few thoughts on how to change things up a bit:
1. Lean into it and go over the top--why stop at Mom/Sister(s)/Aunt/Cousin(s)? Throw in Stepmom/Stepsisters etc.. Maybe Grandma's a Cougar! In laws, foster families, etc. Make it huge.
2. Shift perspective/play ingame--go back and forth between male MC and the female characters in the game. It gives them a greater impression of agency, they can choose to be willing participants or pursuers rather than always being the pursued.
3. Try different mechanics for pursuing the courtship/goal. Peep/stalk/grope/corrupt/blackmail
could be replaced with less skeevy/creepy approaches.
4. Switch up and vary ages, body types, etc.
5. Give the different characters distinctive personalities, backgrounds and motivations which are less predictable.

Just a few thoughts.

Can you write? Because these are the same conclusions I came to before beginning to write my own games. First one is an Incest plot that has more character development, swaps between the brother and sister, isn't creepy, although doesn't jump the shark.

I actually have a creative writing degree, studied multimedia about 20 years ago and am familiar with Poser and DAZ3D, though I'm not a coder.
One other thought is to change things up culturally/racially. What about families of color, or perhaps Dad remarried a woman of a different ethnicity. Even just changing up hair color would be nice. I'd love to see a redhead mom!

Your red-headed Mom you were talking about gets really involved in her son's stories. So much so that she doesn't even notice that her robe starts to bunch up when she rubs her legs together. Ok the quality is crap but had to shut it off after 10 minutes cause I had something else needed to do. redhead.jpg

I have very little code experience, and am using Ren'Py just fine with one of my games. As to more complicated stuff, it's not hard to find a coder hanging around the forums, willing to work on a project. Start putting a storyboard together, a few images, some writing. Then look for a coder. I promise someone will be willing.

I had to find an artist, because I don't have anything on that end. Later, I joined a team looking for a writer, we are an artist coder and writer working on two games together. Its possible, and I for one would like to see more games with competent writers behind them.

Come to think of it, someone on the discord was just looking for a writer earlier today... can't remember his name.
