While it's still in the very early stages, I'm looking forward to see the full game! Like the monochrome series, there are also infinite possibilities for expanding the game too so that's another plus!
At first glance/playthrough most of us immediately associate it with a certain beloved
monochrome series but it's granted as the gameplay is exactly the same but with a slight change/addition of the city map. I like how it still tries to be it's own thing despite taking heavy inspiration from said monochrome series and also other
similar games such as
teaching feeling and
1room runaway girl.
I like the setting of our MC just living his life in this future dystopian city. There is a story/main plotline but it's still way too early to figure out anything. I agree with
mr__person__'s point on MC's relationship with Millie progressing way too fast too. My take is that Millie can still move in to live with MC on day 1 but she is still on her guard (negative trust and awkward stage until a certain point either
story wise and/or
through stat grinding). My point is that there needs to be something to bridge the gap between her wanting to kill you and suddenly being devoted to you.
I also like Iris' character/role in the story as well being MC's "childhood friend" and also as a (female) guardian of sorts for Millie too. Hopefully this opens up some potential (lewding/romantic) routes with her as well hint hint wink wink instead of her being just another background character like the other (female) characters (that are not your sister) in the monochrome series. The trust issue still applies here though, Millie trusted Iris quicker than MC saying yes to letting her live with him lol.
While everything (plot/gameplay) is still in the early stages, it does mean that there's a possibility of creating a unique series that's inspired from the monochrome series instead of it being label as a bootleg copy. Take fan favourite concepts/elements from the different games (but not too many which makes it unnecessarily/overly complicated) and combine them together. Personally I like the raising system in
teaching feeling and
waifu foxgirl konko but not so much the CG lewd cutscenes part of those games. Their plots are very similar in the sense of raising Millie too so that might be helpful. Also, please include a skip button for minigames. Have the reward fixed when using the skip option but allow the MC to get bonuses for playing the minigame. This would allow players to min/max or gain a little extra for that extra item/desperate situations.
For now I'll be keeping on eye on this one. Who knows whether it'll be a diamond in the rough or fizzle out in the future. It's gonna take a lot of time and effort but regardless, best of luck!
