I'd like to be nice to this game, but it really feels like a mess. There is an immense lack of direction, a few bugs, (one of which softlocks you in ichiraku ramen if you don't know how to get out), and a rough gameplay loop and artstyle. It's comparable to My New Life from an art perspective, and from a gameplay perspective, it also puts you out in the world and immediately has you studying your quest log to figure out what you need to do in order to progress.
But the biggest problem I had is that I just found the game to be boring. I wasn't having any fun playing it. There's one "mission" available after several updates to the game and the rest of the gameplay revolves around running around a poor looking environment and talking to characters that oftentimes don't feel like their real, Naruto counterparts. Why the fuck is Rock Lee a drug dealer?
I think the animation looks great, and is the major selling point of the game. The Ino gif in the previews is the thing that sold me on downloading this. It's just a shame that everything else is of a lesser quality.
The writing is cringe, not just from the broken english (which I have no quarrel with personally) but also from the awful ways the characters talk, it's like they're a bunch of horny 12 year old kids. (when i mean, technically, they are, but they aren't for the purposes of this game, because that would be illegal, of course.)
I didn't like this game, but I think the developer probably learned a lot from making it, and I wish them the best of luck in future endeavors. I think they have what it takes to make something good. This, however, isn't.
