RPGM - Living with Tsunade [v0.40] [Bitawastaken]

    jellycatiscool

This game is pretty much under development so not much to say, but the potential is obviously there.
One of the very few rpgm game that actually put effort in making animations, which is a huge plus. Built-in cheat instead of editing save is another point scored.
The problem might be the quest narrating. It straight up gives you all the possible quest and then you gotta figure your way out one by one. Took some times to get used to but since the reward is some sweet sweet animations so all worth the while ig.
Combat system definitely needs a lot of grind unless you just "bang bang" your way out of every fights. Kinda like a soul rpgm lmao. UI can have a little more polish ig but everything works fine now. I kinda expect the game to have more random events in the jungle and stuff cause the first scene with ten ten had my hope up pretty high.
All in all, animation is...again...a huge fucking plus. You might get blue-balled like 90% of the time since they mostly got cut off when things start to get spicy but well can't ask for more from an on-going game. Also a gallery is very much recommended. Another also, they deadass draw combat animations for a few skills (like around 24 frames of movement if you use rasengan). Dare I say that's the first time I've seen one in these types of game.

    This is for v0.40

TLDR: As always with weighted scores on this site, do not trust the reviews that are only a few sentences long and don't actually go into detail about the game itself.
This game is a prime example of an artist thinking they can make a game without any experience with games themselves, and certainly not enough experience with H games to be making one.
Content is lackluster, grindy, needlessly repetitive, and H content is far and few in-between.
    Not Fap-worthy.

    • The assets are ugly outside of the very few scenes that actually matter with awkward full body sprites that don't even fit into the map well.
    • The gameplay is insanely grindy for no decent reason even with cheats, with certain events only being available on certain days at certain times and only if you took very specific steps in a specific sequence meaning you are going to constantly be navigating menus to check the steps for the specific event line you are following and hoping that you are doing things correctly
    • The RPGM curse of 90% of the gameplay being slow aimless walking is on full display here, even with the built in teleportation system
    • H content is way too sparse, spread out, and short with each event either being extremely lackluster consisting of a short animation loop followed immediately by it ending and usually at this point being followed by a message that that is the end of current content
    • Combat is thankfully not important beyond the Tenten content so far, but it is extremely unbalanced and annoying
    • Stat grinding is obnoxious and just plain stupid
Really the whole game feels like it would be better as a kinetic novel or even just put in Renpy since there are very few locations you actually need to be on any given day so most of your time is spent walking.

The plot is basically just that Naruto lent money to Tsunade, Tsunade lost it while gambling, and now Naruto is living with her, but since you rarely interact with her on a daily basis, you might as well not be living together.

There are a few typical at home interactions, such as classics like Tsunade stuck in the dryer, helping her with some chores, watching TV with her, and so on, but all of these require special items and stupid BS to progress to the actual content.

Multiple plot interactions feel like they were intended for the player to NOT be Naruto that it really just feels like the PC should be an anonymous ninja rather than Naruto...who apparently can't even get away from a couple of street thugs or pick locks or do anything that a powerful ninja can do.

The art is decent, but only on the level of like, someone who is still learning the basics of how to draw, lacking the traits of higher quality art that make the difference between middle school art student and professional artist.
This is compounded by the fact that the developer's attention is horribly misplaced for this game as there are placeholder animations for combat skills, meanwhile the content people are actually here for is extremely lackluster and sparse.

Overall, this needs an immense amount of work and refining and possibly even remaking before this could even be fappable as even with cheats it takes way too much time and effort to make any progress at all with not enough content to make any of it worthwhile.
I would personally recommend avoiding this game until it nears completion because as is you will just get annoyed rather than aroused.

This game deserves a better score because the art is extremely good, but the game is absolutely awful. I know it's super early in development, but my god, the combat might be the worst I've ever played as the balance is just soo bad, the enemies do tedious CC things all the time, and it just goes oooon and ooon. The quest system is confusing and it feels like it's buggy non stop. The dev needs to team up with someone who can make a functional game while focusing on the art.

I love the concept of the game and know it has good potential. The game has a suitable flow of events and plot, and although there are some bugs present they can be patched easily. The only recommendation I can really make is to keep working towards creating great scenes and development with tsunade and main character's relationship. Keep at it dev.

P.S. to Bita: I just read the other guy's recommendation to team up with someone who can focus on the gameplay while you focus on the art and it's probably the best advice in this entire review page. Seriously consider it! The quality of your game would skyrocket from just that, I believe.

I'd like to be nice to this game, but it really feels like a mess. There is an immense lack of direction, a few bugs, (one of which softlocks you in ichiraku ramen if you don't know how to get out), and a rough gameplay loop and artstyle. It's comparable to My New Life from an art perspective, and from a gameplay perspective, it also puts you out in the world and immediately has you studying your quest log to figure out what you need to do in order to progress.

But the biggest problem I had is that I just found the game to be boring. I wasn't having any fun playing it. There's one "mission" available after several updates to the game and the rest of the gameplay revolves around running around a poor looking environment and talking to characters that oftentimes don't feel like their real, Naruto counterparts. Why the fuck is Rock Lee a drug dealer?

I think the animation looks great, and is the major selling point of the game. The Ino gif in the previews is the thing that sold me on downloading this. It's just a shame that everything else is of a lesser quality.

The writing is cringe, not just from the broken english (which I have no quarrel with personally) but also from the awful ways the characters talk, it's like they're a bunch of horny 12 year old kids. (when i mean, technically, they are, but they aren't for the purposes of this game, because that would be illegal, of course.)

I didn't like this game, but I think the developer probably learned a lot from making it, and I wish them the best of luck in future endeavors. I think they have what it takes to make something good. This, however, isn't.

Really promising game with great art and animation. The game overall looks a bit rough around the ages but I feel like the jokes, progression, art and last, but not least, animation, are all top notch. Looking forward for more content.

When I saw another Naruto parody i wasnt expecting much, but WOW..
Art is INCREDIBLE!!! I was so baffled on how GOOD it looked. And its consistently good. Its amazing!

story and events are funny and creative. i like them.

Sound is ok. I couldnt listen too loudly because of.. reasons, but lewd sounds on lewd scenes are always more welcome than just music imo.

Movement is a bit clunky, but ok. I often get stuck on objects, because they look so realistic xd

I like how the girls arent all in shippuden outfits, but in their MOST SEXY outfits. Pre Shippuden Ino looks so much hotter. All clothes in general all look really hot in this game. Even sakura looks fine here... Damn..
I think the dev is a big fan of hinata and ino and i approve of that taste 1000% (also tsunade ofc kek)

Hopefully the dev wont spend too much time on the combat. Its cool to have something else, but the combat doesnt have to become complicated. its a waste of time imo.

The worst part in this game would be.. narutos constant "believe it".. i dont think he was saying this all the time in the japanese dub, right? This was more of an english dub thing and it was hideous.. annoying.. i pray that the dev wont use this catchline too much in furture updates..

    So yea..
Just WOW. The art is on another level. This game is freaking killing it and I love how CREATIVE the approaches are for the girls... The dev is a god and if he/they update regularly and wont abandon it like other devs, this will become a great, great game
    So far, def 8/5 points!!!

    4.5/5

Game is in early development so it's pretty short. The art is great and the animations are very fluid. I see a lot of potential for this game in the future. With how short the game is I wouldve given it a 3/5, but the art makes up for the lack of content and me hoping the dev releases much more content in the future.

I played version 0.36 and I have to say that this looks very promising, the game is barely 5 months old and I have already played for an hour and a half.
The art is beautiful, it is very faithful to the art of the original series but a little more sexualized and the animation is very fluid.
The story doesn't seem to be very complex, but I'm not a big fan of Naruto (beyond its female characters) so a parody story doesn't really matter to me.
The scenes are very attractive, but I would definitely like to see something more sexual, like receiving a titfuck from Hinata or a 69 with Tsunade (it doesn't have to be just vaginal or anal sex). But the game is very recent, so I trust that little by little the creator will add more (I don't want him to rush with the penetration scenes either, if I just wanted to see that it would be better to go to rule34)
The combat system didn't bother me, I farmed experience quickly and easily killed Orochi and Anko, but I think the developer is going to change it, so I'll be indifferent on that point.
And from what I've read about the programmer, he seems to be very enthusiastic about his game, so I trust that he won't abandon it.
5/5 I hope the game continues to improve over time. (And sorry for the English of Google Translate)

100% recommend. The art is hot. I was surprised with the sprites , not that it's bad but it's new, not typical. Show some support for the dev because the art justifies it. The story is meh but it does still give context to sex scenes which elevates it.

    dramin99

Damn the art is just  10/10. Tsunade has never looked this good :BootyTime:! I know its not exactly the craziest thing to play a game in the Naruto setting as..well...Naruto...but 100% I prefer it over playing as some weird ass self-insert OC like other devs. Easy 5 stars (Hope the dev doesn't burn himself out drawing amazing art for every character and keeps the scale in control)

    Lazygime

its a fair decent game it has different sprites compared to other RPGM games and it does have different locations that are fair comparison to the actual Konoha village 4/5.

The art style is good enough to enjoy with a few animations here and there 4/5.

the writings bit funny with characters not acting as they should be fair enough it is a Adult game at least with the given context the anime/manga make the characters act accordingly or align 3/5 it does the work.

it has a few mini games such as where you fight Anko which was kinda to fast pace and you hand to kinda grind a bit to buy konais and heals for a surprise sudden boss battle 3/5.

overall the games great it has its bugs but to be fair it is the mans first game, i'd say it would be good to bookmark it for the future it will be a great game 4/5 (you know for a RPGM).

    V0.33 Review

    Playtime: 1 Hour

TLDR - Should play. This version feels lacking but I see a lot of potential.

I rate this a 3.5/5. It has some good elements but the content is a bit disappointing and the gameplay is lackluster. This should not be confused for the amount as for this version, it seems pretty good.

    Art
I think the artist has so much potential but the game gates it. Scenes should have 3 animations IMO for this style of gameplay. "Warmup" animation --> Main Animation --> Cum.

The animation is a completely different style and good. It makes the rest of the game look subpar but that just speaks to the artist. The game's art outside of scenes is not the greatest but that's fine and I think for the best. It's still NOT ugly.

    Scene
Seeing that there's only one looping animation is a bit tilting. I'd hope in the future the artist introduces scene variety. In addition, the Hinata content was very lackluster. One repeated scene to improve lust is not engaging. I would prefer AI generated shots of random activities between the two than just a single repeated scene I have to spam through.

    Writing
English isn't their language but ignoring the grammar mistakes, it's good. Characters feel themselves.

    NTR
I didn't see NTR in this version.

    Combat
Pretty dull and not well designed. Game combat is difficult to get and using RPGM makes it even worse. While not the focus, I suggest the dev to look at their favorite systems/what makes things enagaging to them when fighting. Should they opt for turn-based? Should they opt for behaviour tree AIs? Etc.

I think for the current system, perhaps introducing a parry/frame dodge mechanic would work. Introduce basic status effects like stuns, bleeds, or roots.

    Music/SFX
Add some. Handjobs, gushiness, etc. Make the game atmospheric.

Editing this review since I played a newer version and it deserves a better rating than the first one I gave. The dev listened to feedback and changed the combat which was my biggest complaint in my first review. It's more streamlined but grindy and a bit overtuned so hopefully eventually the numbers will be tweaked to deliver a more gradual build up as you progress through the combat missions but overall a huge improvement over the previous version I played.

The art is really the best part of the game. The animations are really well done which is rare so thats a big W and definitely carries the appeal of this game.

I hope the dev eventually gets someone to edit some of the dialogue. The english is understandable and conveys what is happening but could definitely use some polish. Looking forward to future updates.

As a demo I must say that it's not bad at all, I like the drawing of the characters, the fact that it has animations is a hoot and some of the dialogues made me laugh, maybe I don't like that they add ntr in the future but that's up to the developer, even so it promises a lot
The truth of all Naruto parodies, this could become one of my favorites

Well I'm gonna rate the content that is here as well as the direction of the game, unfortunately it's not great. But perhaps it could be.

Art 4. 5/5 : The art is straight up great. I'm sure you can see it in the preview pictues, but whoever is making the sexy art is doing a great job. The characters look like their anime counter parts and the quality is consistent. However, I have to ding them just a little because sometimes character design isn't consistent? Like for example this should be shippudden era, but some characters are just straight up in their pre-time skip outfits like Ino and Sasuke (who's here for some reason).

Story 2/5: It's a parody game that even gets it's own main concept wrong. Gonna nerdge out a little but the apartment is given to Naurto by the 3rd so why the hell does he even need to pay rent? Anyways there is no real story, its a parody game where you click and go to the next event.

Gameplay 2/5: It's an RPGM game. There's nothing interesting or fun here, in fact it's kind of annoying having to click everywhere, especially since the map likes to be a bit of a maze and just clicking somewhere means you're clicking multiple times to get the RPG sprite to go where you want. Then from there you're literally just doing the same thing, clicking through a forced cut scene to raise your money up by 10 so you can get 100. So you gotta do that 10 times, but nothing changes, you're just spam clicking through the same cut scene. Obviously there's hints at things in this game that there will be more in the future, I can see the small beginnings of some kind of battle system, but none if it's implemented. So this RPGM clicking simulator. Not fun and just annoying atm.

NTR??: It's been brought up in the thread multiple times already, but yes. It's in this game. Some people are cool with it, some people aren't. Dev just make it a hard YES or NO that leads to the same outcome. In this particular instance, Shizune is found to be hypnotized by Orochimaru, and gets dicked down in the hokage office. There was an option that said "Stop him" or "lets watch", I didn't click the stop him option because I wanted to see the scene. Does the stop him work? Well if it does then you solved your issue. If not then make it work. All you have to do is make NTR optional. That's it. Put a box in the thread that says its optional and not cannon if you don't want it and then people will stop complaining, simple as that.

Overall 3/5: The art is great and the quality is consistent. The gameplay is RPG snooze fest, but it hints at some cools things maybe being added. There is no story really but the bits left makes no sense to me.

One thing I forgot to add was that STUPID porn music that indie devs like to add to every thing. Just take that out, it's stupid and ruins the immersion. I went from playing a Naruto parody game to a stupid 2006 Newgrounds Parody game. It's the only music in the game as far as I can tell, and it just makes me laugh more than anything. It's awful, keep it out.

    Knight6797

Since there is not much there yet, I would rather want to talk about in which direction this game seems to be going, and honestly it could be good when the map gets expanded. Currently there is not much to do in the map, main content is pretty okay (working for Tsunade and helping her with house work gets you money and trust, let's you see scenes in the future) and the side job mechanic together with Hinata is also a nice touch I suppose. Some things are rough around the edges, but since it's essentially a first demo it can be overlooked for what's to come.

Why give it 5 stars? Because I really like the direction this is heading, the art seems to be pretty good and given there's animation in the H-scenes, this could definitely come up to be quite a good harem type game. If the interactions with the characters and certain side activities get expanded with future releases (as to what you can do aside from simple housework and studying etc.) then it could be pretty fine. After all, there are some thick asses in this game that urgently need a pounding, and I am all here to wait for it to happen.
