Not really. Having to learn through trial and error is fun for some people.-
I don't have a problem with trial and error, that's what happens in most games (granted, most of them became dead easy in recent years).
My point here (and I'm sure it's been mentioned in the 400+ pages of this thread) it's that the design choices here are so bad that they push you to spend more time reading guides than aimlessly wasting time in-game.
It's not bad design. It's just not a game for you.

Guess I'll have to repeat: Just because you like it or have it figured out, that doesn't make it
good design.
There's good and bad design. They can happen anywhere, anytime, regardless of individual preferences. There's plenty of flawed games I do enjoy, and that doesn't make me oblivious of their shortcomings.

(I'm actually amazed a "real" DS player would complain about such thing.....or even compare Lona to DS

I only brought up DS because of its easily the epitome of "difficult game", since "git gud" seems to be the creed of this particular thread's dwellers. Of course, those two are nothing alike, and I have no need to call myself a "real player" of anything.
Just because you don't like someone's standpoint that doesn't make them wrong. In fact, all the replies were either "retry", "git gud", "cheat it out", "we like it this way" or "move on", so the main point was never tackled. Cheers...
