Getting this error with the Evil Scales quest. I get to the temple and when I enter (day or night) i get this issue. Help pls

I reported the same in the discord (version B0.9.8.1.1), the dev gave me a file to download and drop into the data folder to replace a former.

I have attached it, but if you don't trust that grab it off the discord instead, it should be in the bug fixes channel.

I just finished saving her yesterday, version B.0.9.8.1.1.

Pretty sure there is a very hard to see red whirlpool (similar to the sea witch temple exit) where you entered from, you just have to press Z while standing on it. There could also be a tall tentacle spire covering visibility, which you might be able to destroy by smacking it (it shouldn't be ontop of but just below, so you shouldn't have to destroy it to exit).

How do I keep her standing picture on the screen? It seems to randomly go in and out but I want it to stay on the screen permanently.

because the convivence of owning the game in a spot where all my games are, in a single spot that I can uninstall and install whenever I want without digging through secondary places for updates or bug fixs or forums
because its a one time payment for a game and not a life long sponge?
that is one of the many reasons someone might use steam to purchase a game instead of going through a subscription service or a niche platform

ill also add, that I most likely wont buy games outside of steam so in the end its well not my loss

It's like saying you won't buy any games on GOG or Epic. Itch is just a platform like steam. It's not a subscription service either. Besides, it's not even via steam that you're making the payments. You do them via whatever third party payments processor platform they use for your region

It seems fake id papers don't work... I did the quest to save the Cocona by killing everything, Big Mom gave me fake papers, but it reset my reputation to 0.
What am I doing wrong?

I went and bought other fake id papers, but they don't work either.

I sold my original papers and then bought fake id papers, but it still doesn't work and resets my reputation to 0... What should I do?

With 0 reputation, everyone attacks me like I'm a criminal.

UPD:
Ah... I think I get it.
It seems that killing adds a hidden modifier with which the maximum reputation drops.
So I can't raise morale above 50 in this save.
As a result, reputation drops to 0 when buying fake id papers, because... Well, yeah... The maximum reputation is 50...
Ah... To hell with Cocona.

Fake papers do reset your moral because you killed people inside that mission (its intentional). The fake papers are a way to basically get forgiven by hostile npc's in cities. Certain people drop max reputation not current reputation yes. I dont know how you dropped your reputation that fast that low though, did you just murder a bunch of people?

I have saved Cocona 3 times on newest version while testing mods so if you want to provide details of how your situation happened I can help.

Yeah, I went there as a mage and just killed everyone one by one.
Should I have paused between kills or something?

I must say that for some defeated enemies the reputation dropped by 10, and for killing others by as much as 100.
At some point my reputation was -200.

Since you're the only one who answered me, let me ask another question about food spoilage on Hell difficulty.
Is the spoilage random?
Sometimes I can carry 5 soups for several days and they don't disappear, and sometimes all 15 disappear from my inventory...

You don't know how this mechanic works?

For your spoilage question i'll do a writeup tomorrow on the exact way its determined from the code just so I dont write something inaccurate.

For reputation, certain enemies reduce moral immediately by -100 (temporarily) and -10 immediately and fully. Usually non combatants, but the ones that aren't seem to all have certain qualities in common like being affiliated with the Saint.

For example: if you attack enemies during stealth section, its almost always -10 moral per enemy as a punishment for killing unnecessarily. If you kill one enemy its -10, but also an additional -100 temporarily for killing someone in the area since its a crime. If you wait without being scene for long enough, temporary loses go away. So if you start the fight at 0, get -10 and -100 temp, you'll eventually be at just -10.

Edit: this doesn't include the situations where permanent max moral is lowered (too complicated to discuss all at the same time and remain understandable, just understand thats different from this)

Okay... So there is no way to return 100 max reputation if permanent reputation has gone into the negative?
UPD: The problem is that fake id papers do not reset my reputation to 50, as it should, but to 0, making me a criminal even by fake id.

What about food spoilage... I don't know, maybe it's because of 5 survival points in the new playthrough, or if you sleep on the global map, and not on the location, then it seems like soups spoil much longer...
