Well you are the one that is name-calling. Yes the hints and give-aways are there. Still it is interpretation. Interpretation has nothing to do with passive agressive. Name calling is easy behind a safe keyboard. You do not have to face a "real"- person. My opinon about this game and the dev has not changed. It has tremendous art. Still gameplay and intention of the developer are not clear from the beginning. You are appearently a fan. I am not a fan and i will also not become one. I stop reacting now. It is useless to discuss opinions where you appear to not to be able to accept another then your own.

The passive aggressiveness I'm calling out is from you adding the little bit about whether I understand what interpretation means and that you meant no offense if I didn't. Despite the meaning of comprehension, which is what I asked you about, is literally to process and interpret the meaning of a sentence in the way the author intended (in this context).
So if you're saying that you know what it is and still asking me if I know what "interpretation" mean, I'm going to assume you are being passive agressive.

And I'm not name calling here or trying to force you to like the game, I'm not even discussing opinions with you either. I'm pointing out that you've misunderstood its' genre, and complaining about it here if you're not willing to learn about the game is a waste of time.

I'd suggest backing up your save and see if the game crashes outright with a fresh file.
You could try opening the .ini and adding GamePadUImode= just below MapBGMode=0.

After doing what I believe to be all available quests, I've amounted a total of 11 gold coins. Are the rest supposed to be obtained through barter and repeatable quests, or are there just a bunch of one time quests that I missed?

Gentle reminder to newcomers of the game that you mustn't play with the expectation that this is a porn game. LonaRPG is more of a brutal ryona survival game with some h-elements sprinkled in and erotic stuff is highly YMMV. Engage in combat only when necessary since stealth will be your best friend here. As others mentioned here, combat is piss-poor at XP so don't even bother going on killing sprees. Instead, finish quests and masturbate (lolwut) to gain XP. Farm repeatable quests.

Also, while many have described it as VH meets Dark Souls, this is a bit of a surface level assumption. VH is actually fun, for one. Just because it shares some traits with VH doesn't mean it's like VH. Secondly, the difficulty in combat is not what makes it 'like' DS but instead it's the jankiness of trying to implement DS-esque mechanics into RPGMaker that makes it as hard as it is. Getting gud is one thing, having your keys bug out while trying to block is another. Don't even get me started on escort missions since the pathing in this game is phenomenally bad. There's nothing more frustrating than standing by the exit point and seeing your rescued noble swordswoman escort just get bodied a few squares away from you because she apparently can't resist killing bandits.

What is fun about the game is the world and the setting. It doesn't take very long to get immersed into the game's FUBAR world and the characters are interesting.

TL;DR: If you DL this game expecting to get to good wank in, you're gonna have a bad time.

I have found that killing rabbits in the open farm fields north of town is EZ food and cash grinding, if you have the dark cauldron skill, or wait for a refugee camp event to appear nearby (they have a cauldron you can use).

It's also incredibly safe as any dangerous encounter while you're on a farm field, you can simply run away to the edge of the map, with almost zero chance of being blocked as long as your speed and stamina are half decent.

Go to the field nearest a forest or rainforest tile, depending on if you also want to farm herbs or be closer to town when you're done, enter field, kill rabbits (one, two, or none can spawn per encounter), pick up the metric fuckton of meat they often drop, optionally gather or eat the veggies on the map too, leave map, repeat. Once you have loaded down your weight limit in raw animal meat, goto forest and chop 2 pieces of wood, use one to make dark cauldron, use the other to put into it along with all the meat, batch cook up smoked meat. MAKE SURE NOT TO BE LOW ON STAMINA before batch cooking, or doing that much may put you to -100!

75 pieces of smoked meat is roughly equal to one gold coin, and can be easily gotten within one trip of doing this, especially if you use the vegetables to stay fed and don't eat the smoked meat while you're out.

Bank it all or exchange for gold. Fastest way i've found to build up food and money, so far.

I didn't actually have a save to back up; I was trying to play a 100% fresh game, and had it crashing on me. However, I tried starting the game after adding GamePadUImode=0 where you suggested, and it's working. I don't know why the lack of that bit of code in the .ini rendered the game unloadable, but thank you very much for the help.

... I don't suppose you'd also know where I could look in the game's coding to control where the enemies/NPCs penetrate when they grab you...?

Jokes on you, I did get a good wank in... After so, so much trial and error. Wish there was more nympho options though, it's fun literally sucking the life out of someone. No other game weaponizes sex to this degree I think.

More power to you, good sir! I honestly find Lona's sex scenes to be a bit off-putting for a multitude of reasons but good to hear someone's getting off it. As for weaponising sex, last time it was to this degree, it was the succubus technique from Violated Heroine where you could easily suck the soul out of a boss monster if it dared rape you. Still don't consider the game to be anywhere near VH though.
