So, to load your older save in newer version, discard companion go to empty tile (no npc), save.
Transfer save to new version, load, exit map by leaving via border, re-enter map, save. Exit game, load that save.
The most safest way. (
To add to this. Bash weapons like the club seem to do more stamina damage and piercing or cutting weapons like the spear do more HP damage. With the spear specifically (might be true for other 2 handed weapons) the alt attack is a bash that lowers enemy stamina

Game needs an alert for when STA is low. IRL, we'd feel, which is efficient--having to look, isn't.
Don't consider Doom difficulty viable currently.
I'd suggest blinking STA stat plus fatigue sound...when below 30 STA or such.

Are there any quests from Noer that naturally take you to other cities? Or are you just expected to randomly explore the overmap? I thought I remembered there being a quest that would take you out past Eastern Outpost (protect a caravan from fish people), and then that opened a quest that took you to the northern city (Doom Fort I think it's called now) as you escort the survivors. I haven't found it in the current version of the game though (Seems it might have been split up into different quests and it no longer starts from Noer).
That seems like one issue in the newest version, there's not really incentive or reason to ever leave the area around Noer. I think there should be a point in some Noer story where you get kicked out or something and have to go to other cities for a while. That or just a quest like the one that used to exist that takes you to the other cities.
