Hey!

I am developing my first game and I'm a newbie. I want another solo/small developer to have weekly check ins about our progress and to yell at each other if we start slipping.

I would also like to set up weekly co-work sessions. No video necessary we can meet up in discord and just check in and see how things are going. It would be cool if we have time to preview each other's work and provide feedback...but that is icing on the cake.

I mostly need someone to hold me accountable and not just play Overwatch all night because I'm overstressed lol.

Peace!

keep posting your game here: you'll get feedback and get to see how long its been since you last update it. its what i do, eventually working on games became my purpose/effortless. the trick is to do something everyday, even if its a small step.

A faster way is to think in broad strokes (main story arc events list, character list, art asset list, tutorial list for renpy coding for game mechanics and functionality). then when you know what you need to work on, its just a matter of following the guide and completing the tasks, filling in the in between finer details.

hooopyloop @ my user name here if you want my feedback, your deadline is 2 days (Dec 23) to post your game concept, or you can't do that? >:p

Hey dude. I am working on my own game right now. I can't promise to do anything on a schedule or anything, but if you want some motivation or someone to bounce ideas off of hmu.

I can't guarantee I will respond quickly, but I will respond.

If you can't do something without an accountability partner, don't expect to do better after your accountability partner gives up and ghosts you, because that is the most likely outcome of having an accountability partner.

It doesn't matter if it's making a game, writing a book, loosing weight, or learning a new skill, the vast majority of people give up. And you can't predict which people won't give up.

I think he might be strugglin one aspects of the dev like maybe coding? or embedding codes. I used to coach in esports and you can predict which people has tendencies to give up and why, ofc in this case i have no idea but :D we can learn and help him/her. But my game dev identity is not helping me since my journey is short so it's up to u guys who have more experienced and insights to help.

I have add too, very severe actually. For me it's quite opposite, when i'm alone and focused its much better workflow. Probably it differs a lot depending on the level of ADD and also depending on person. :D
